I tried to get tickets to a concert with in reasonable distance from my home, (150mi ) and it was sold out the same day they went on sale. I,m so happy for him. I agree with you that she is better, in so many ways. However, I truly enjoy this version of Danny's except towards the end when he tried for 2 much 'swagger', that he 'tried on' 2 please the judges. I am just wondering why someone with your taste in music would come to a Danny vid and leave a relatively tasteless remark to make Danny and his fans feel badly?
Katherine McPhee is 1 of the best to grace the idol stage. She is an absolute vision, beautiful inside and out.. and a real professional her training really shows. I thought, when i saw her on the David Foster and Friends tribute, singing The Prayer, with Bocelli, I had died and gone to heaven. She really is that lovely, and deserves much better than she gets in reviews here most of the time.
i dont agree. Adam lambert is by far the best to walk that idol stage. and danny is also one of the best. there wasint much different about Katherine McPhee shes not memorable.

Also how many times links are put up to other idols off of a Danny vid, and not the other way around. This has nothing to do with numbers of views, if you pay attention. The Chinese LOVE this version of this song, and I have read even gay entertainment people praise this. But to actually find it is a chore. What gives?
The other day Good Morning America showcased David Cook, Kris and Adam, in their outdoor concert series. NYC is the tuffest sell for anything in the arts, or otherwise. Normally you have to prove yourself in some other State, before you come there. David was the clear winner in audience acceptance/adoration. Does he have the training or tone of Adam or Kris? NO, but the crowd didn't care about that. IMHO I think they would have eaten up Danny too, had the vote been honest and he had won..
I think Kris just has a difficult voice to work with live, I mean if you listen to some of his studio recordings you really hear how fantastic his voice can be.
Adam has the type of voice that works well live, he also has an extremely similar range to Freddie Mercury.
You don't have to explain vocal struggles to me, I'm a contralto. There is no way I'll ever find work in the music industry or even opera or stage!
Mezzo Sopranos are given contralto roles in opera nowadays(at least in America) most songs are written for mezzos and sopranos in the music industry. Let me ask you, how many contraltos do you see try out for this show? I can't think of one...at least not one who's gotten far or noticed.

To me tone is not the deciding factor of my enjoyment of a performance, when it comes to soul, R & B, etc. Take a look at Rascal Flatts with Kelly Clarkson - What Hurts the Most, i just put in my favs for you.
Kelly is obviously the better trained singer. However, her performance doesn't mesh with Rascal Flatts, because she is over trained and doesn't have the funk/soul to pull it off.

Well everyone has different feelings and they are incredibly personal. How could I possibly guess, let alone consider all of them? As of late I see nothing to suggest from the media or the other contestants that anything mean, hurtful or unjust has been done to Danny as a singer. As I said before I try to be objective about each situation.
If so then please show me, I do think that television outlets tend to be bias, as they have more censorship and control than print media.
iI you read the comments on that Rascal Flatts Kelly Clarkson video, you will see people trying to piece together why it didn't sound right. But if you step back and forget the music theory, it is obvious to see that it is their style and down and dirty realness, or lack of ,that doesn't blend. Danny has that soul/funk factor that just can't be learned. He can B trained to have better tones, but that might actually work against what many people with real feelings find enjoyable about his songs.
It's like that video of Pavorotti and James Brown in Gr8tsuff's favs. Pavorotti did his own thing to the song and it worked. However, had he tried to sing the song as it was written and how James does it. he would have sounded ridiculous, and vice versa if James tried to be the forth tenor during one of those performances. Different genres call for qualities.
Shelly, I am enjoying talking to u, but I have to go right now. I wish things were as simple as you are seeing them. There is much more going on here with this than the usual. It impacts everyone, globally..and Danny, Kris, Adam and even you. This is more than what you think it is. and much more life threatening to many people and the planet than you can imagine. By the way, pointing out the number of views on this video is funny. If you want I can demonstrate to you that the number of views here and elsewhere on this season's videos mean next to nothing,. It is almost impossible to find this video unless you do a specific search, and there are fans out there driving up the numbers on the videos much as they did the contest. Danny's fans tend to be less worldly , and manipulative, much like Danny, even so he has vids here with amost a half a mil views

If you want to see print screens of internal messages from the ranks of Kris and Adam fans/campaigners that they were using power voting to vote, as well as messages and comments of Adam fans/campaigners that show they are here hyper inflating the numbers on this video, give me an emai address for copies of the comments, or a real mail address of printscreens of the actual comments, if that makes u more comfortable.
I also have the same for the entertainment media articles that can show you the enormous effort put forth to hype adam, and to just about destroy Danny and sometimes the other idols.

The problem with a record deal for Danny might be that Danny has different goals and different conditions that need to be met for a merger.
Well first off, on the surface, in terms of the final career, it doesn't matter who wins. But tell that to the children at that charity that Danny has started that the money for the win didn't matter at all. Tell that to Danny who isn't being plugged nationwide like Kris and Adam are, such as their being with D Cook on Good Morning America, a few days ago, who isn't riding around in a hybrid car, that he should be in, because there were many more people who voted for him than votes.

Hi Sshelly, I guess there are people who thought that Danny should have won, because they see him as the best 1 of 3.. In reading some of what is out there on UTube, it seems that a majority of people that watched AI think he is better, but because Danny's fans are more like him, honest, genuine and more into their offline non tech, lives, and didn't know about, or care to use devious power voting to get their favorite to the #1 position, as Kris' and Adams organized campaign did, he lost.
I never watch this show, I didn't even watch it this season. From listening to each of their voices I have to say I found Kris's voice, although difficult to handle, stunning and unique. Not that Danny's isn't, or Adam's, hell these are the three rarest make voices out there. I think it's absurd that anyone's complaining. It doesn't really matter who wins, it's usually the top three that have the most success. Did Clay win? No and where is the guy that did?

I made a valid critique, Danny has a stunning voice, I could listen to it all day. I just love the blues, all I'm saying is that Kris's intonation was shockingly accurate. His voice imo was just better and that's why he won.

Danny has already gotten better since he first started singing on AI. I know he'll continue to improve. He's so good in many different types of music thats its been difficult to know where to "peg" him. I'm praying for the best record deal for you Danny.
I find it unbelieveable that someone with no formal training/voice lessons can come from a gospel background, and in not time at all sound like a seasoned R & B or jazz singer. Not a Gokey fan, but this is far and away the best that any of 'em did with jazz. (not comparing w/Adam's rat pack performance as that wasn't a jazz standard.) On this studio recording Danny surpasses his TV performance, his best of the season. I wanted to like Danny better than I did. With time he did somewhat improve his tendency to go nasal. On rock night I wished he'd chosen something like "Heartbreak Hotel", something blues-rock or 50's rock 'n roll would have suited him. Bad judgement.

this was the best vocal performance of the whole season in my opinion..danny rocks!! people need to look back at kris' performances from the season..he was consistently good. everyone just focused more on adam and danny. kris completely deserved the title. he grew the most as a performer, which is what the show should be about. the top 5 were all amazing..but America absolutely got this one right... Kris Allen is incredible! :)

Among all contestants, I think Danny is the most smug looking person...yeah..i know he has great voice, but I think this is the reason why I don't have such strong affinity towards him. He rarely says thank you to the cheering fans or to nice comments from the judges..most of the time, he gave a smug smile. Replay all the videos of the previous weeks and observe all the contestants, u'll know what i mean
He says all the time how much he appreciates everyone's support. His smile doesn't say "look, I'm so coooool" to me. I think he knows he has some darn good competition. I just don't know why you'd come here, to HIS video, where people come to support him, to say something like that.

I agree with you that she is better, in so many ways. However, I truly enjoy this version of Danny's except towards the end when he tried for 2 much 'swagger', that he 'tried on' 2 please the judges. I am just wondering why someone with your taste in music would come to a Danny vid and leave a relatively tasteless remark to make Danny and his fans feel badly?

Katherine McPhee is 1 of the best to grace the idol stage. She is an absolute vision, beautiful inside and out.. and a real professional her training really shows. I thought, when i saw her on the David Foster and Friends tribute, singing The Prayer, with Bocelli, I had died and gone to heaven. She really is that lovely, and deserves much better than she gets in reviews here most of the time.

i dont agree. Adam lambert is by far the best to walk that idol stage. and danny is also one of the best. there wasint much different about Katherine McPhee shes not memorable.

I haven't really watched idol, just the last few shows of the first season:
& then the season with the two Davids.. i stopped watching after Carly Smithson was voted off and just tuned into the last two shows to see who would win,
The first time i saw Katherine was on the PBS David Foster and friends PBS show. She sang The Prayer with Bocelli. It all came together for her then, like it did for Adam in Mad world. She was a vision. & everything was LOVELY. This is my only exp of K McPHee..

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark... or more to the point UTUBE, when it comes to finding this video.
Now, i am also noting multiple versions of Danny vids with the same song and graphics being offered, that would throw off the count, if clicked on, if you didn't notice, and take the time to click on the original with the most numbers of views.

Ever notice how difficult it is to find this song in the links from search, unless you specifically type in the name of the song? Also how many times links are put up to other idols off of a Danny vid, and not the other way around. This has nothing to do with numbers of views, if you pay attention. The Chinese LOVE this version of this song, and I have read even gay entertainment people praise this. But to actually find it is a chore. What gives?

The other day Good Morning America showcased David Cook, Kris and Adam, in their outdoor concert series. NYC is the tuffest sell for anything in the arts, or otherwise. Normally you have to prove yourself in some other State, before you come there. David was the clear winner in audience acceptance/adoration. Does he have the training or tone of Adam or Kris? NO, but the crowd didn't care about that. IMHO I think they would have eaten up Danny too, had the vote been honest and he had won..

I think Kris just has a difficult voice to work with live, I mean if you listen to some of his studio recordings you really hear how fantastic his voice can be.
Adam has the type of voice that works well live, he also has an extremely similar range to Freddie Mercury.
You don't have to explain vocal struggles to me, I'm a contralto. There is no way I'll ever find work in the music industry or even opera or stage!

Mezzo Sopranos are given contralto roles in opera nowadays(at least in America) most songs are written for mezzos and sopranos in the music industry. Let me ask you, how many contraltos do you see try out for this show? I can't think of one...at least not one who's gotten far or noticed.
I understand the woes of the music industry quite well, you just have to ignore it and keep on singing.

Shshelly, Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. I think Gr8stuffis is saying much of what I might. To me tone is not the deciding factor of my enjoyment of a performance, when it comes to soul, R & B, etc. Take a look at Rascal Flatts with Kelly Clarkson - What Hurts the Most, i just put in my favs for you.
Kelly is obviously the better trained singer. However, her performance doesn't mesh with Rascal Flatts, because she is over trained and doesn't have the funk/soul to pull it off.

Well everyone has different feelings and they are incredibly personal. How could I possibly guess, let alone consider all of them? As of late I see nothing to suggest from the media or the other contestants that anything mean, hurtful or unjust has been done to Danny as a singer. As I said before I try to be objective about each situation.
If so then please show me, I do think that television outlets tend to be bias, as they have more censorship and control than print media.

iI you read the comments on that Rascal Flatts Kelly Clarkson video, you will see people trying to piece together why it didn't sound right. But if you step back and forget the music theory, it is obvious to see that it is their style and down and dirty realness, or lack of ,that doesn't blend. Danny has that soul/funk factor that just can't be learned. He can B trained to have better tones, but that might actually work against what many people with real feelings find enjoyable about his songs.

It's like that video of Pavorotti and James Brown in Gr8tsuff's favs. Pavorotti did his own thing to the song and it worked. However, had he tried to sing the song as it was written and how James does it. he would have sounded ridiculous, and vice versa if James tried to be the forth tenor during one of those performances. Different genres call for qualities.

By the way, pointing out the number of views on this video is funny. If you want I can demonstrate to you that the number of views here and elsewhere on this season's videos mean next to nothing,. It is almost impossible to find this video unless you do a specific search, and there are fans out there driving up the numbers on the videos much as they did the contest. Danny's fans tend to be less worldly , and manipulative, much like Danny, even so he has vids here with amost a half a mil views

I also have the same for the entertainment media articles that can show you the enormous effort put forth to hype adam, and to just about destroy Danny and sometimes the other idols.
If you didn't watch the show, than you probably have not been around the net to study and dissect what is going on here.

Same room, same people, A ballot box is brought in. Count: 6 votes for #1, 199 votes for #2, 201 votes for #3. Could u c y 6 people in that room might feel upset?
The problem with a record deal for Danny might be that Danny has different goals and different conditions that need to be met for a merger.

Well first off, on the surface, in terms of the final career, it doesn't matter who wins. But tell that to the children at that charity that Danny has started that the money for the win didn't matter at all. Tell that to Danny who isn't being plugged nationwide like Kris and Adam are, such as their being with D Cook on Good Morning America, a few days ago, who isn't riding around in a hybrid car, that he should be in, because there were many more people who voted for him than votes.

Well honestly I'd be a little pissed, but I'd understand it as their opinion. There's no use in getting worked up over such things. If someone for example came up and gave a valid reason why Kris's performance was better, say intonation as I wrote than I would understand and take it as an incentive to go out and better my vocal quality.
Anyway is that what people are doing to him? I mean I haven't seen anything in the media or from the contestants. Usually I don' pay attention to the fangirls

But really? If you're a singer you don't care, you just do what you love. You can't expect people who are out to get a profit in anyway possible to be ethical or think of someone's feelings. Danny will be fine because money and fame were never important to him in the first place.

Hi Sshelly, I guess there are people who thought that Danny should have won, because they see him as the best 1 of 3.. In reading some of what is out there on UTube, it seems that a majority of people that watched AI think he is better, but because Danny's fans are more like him, honest, genuine and more into their offline non tech, lives, and didn't know about, or care to use devious power voting to get their favorite to the #1 position, as Kris' and Adams organized campaign did, he lost.

I never watch this show, I didn't even watch it this season. From listening to each of their voices I have to say I found Kris's voice, although difficult to handle, stunning and unique. Not that Danny's isn't, or Adam's, hell these are the three rarest make voices out there. I think it's absurd that anyone's complaining. It doesn't really matter who wins, it's usually the top three that have the most success. Did Clay win? No and where is the guy that did?

I find it unbelieveable that someone with no formal training/voice lessons can come from a gospel background, and in not time at all sound like a seasoned R & B or jazz singer. Not a Gokey fan, but this is far and away the best that any of 'em did with jazz. (not comparing w/Adam's rat pack performance as that wasn't a jazz standard.) On this studio recording Danny surpasses his TV performance, his best of the season. I wanted to like Danny better than I did. With time he did somewhat improve his tendency to go nasal. On rock night I wished he'd chosen something like "Heartbreak Hotel", something blues-rock or 50's rock 'n roll would have suited him. Bad judgement.

this was the best vocal performance of the whole season in my opinion..danny rocks!! people need to look back at kris' performances from the season..he was consistently good. everyone just focused more on adam and danny. kris completely deserved the title. he grew the most as a performer, which is what the show should be about. the top 5 were all amazing..but America absolutely got this one right... Kris Allen is incredible! :)

and for you, Kris may have progressed the most of anyone but that is not what the show is about: its about the best singer, which kris just wasnt. he was good but the weakest of the top 5 in my opinion. matt giraud went 5th. listen to "Matt Giraud on Ellen, Let's Get it On - song only. Adam doesn't have the most fans. It's pretty obvious Danny has the most fans. And Kris sometimes has more fans than Adam, it's probably been fluctuating with the two of them. Adam has the most talent of the three and we all know it too. So of course, it's a popularity contest.

Because his tender vocals express a shy kind of personality till he belt at the chorus which really is great loved this song he did just a downside is that he could have connected the song to the audience by going out to the audience but other than that it was awesome !!.

i feel pretty dumb. know why? as soon as adam had to pick a group, whichever group he picked was a group of three, the number the bottom always has. and either one obviously included him. so adam was in the bottom 3 no matter which group he picked, right? because any group of three would be the bottom 3, and whichever one he was in was the group of 3? can someone reply and verify if im correct? i didnt catch any of that at first. sorry if im being confusing. go gokey :) :) :) <3 you.

Tony Bennett does come to mind but not as good. And I ask you Do We really need another Tony Bennett in this would. I was and still am a Brent Keith Fan. Adam can really put on a show. But was really hoping for Matt to kick off Danny, he certainly is talented enough to have done it.

Danny has world wide appeal - he's comparable to Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, or Frank Sinatra. This is real talent, not theatrics. Danny has timeless appeal. Sorry Adam - you are good, but not timeless.

To all the Danny fans, CALM DOWN. Danny is a good singer but i feel he is way too cocky. Adam is so much better. he is actually a good singer and doesnt get by on just Paula's stupid comments.
For those who think Adam screams, check out your hearing. If anyone is screaming, it's Danny in this song.
All this said, Danny is great and I love this song (but Adam is so much better :p)

Among all contestants, I think Danny is the most smug looking person...yeah..i know he has great voice, but I think this is the reason why I don't have such strong affinity towards him. He rarely says thank you to the cheering fans or to nice comments from the judges..most of the time, he gave a smug smile. Replay all the videos of the previous weeks and observe all the contestants, u'll know what i mean
