  • BEST. DYLAN. COVER. EVER.

  • PURE GENIUS !!!

  • SHITIT,is this all we get. Cover jobs @@@@@ WHY,I WANNA KNOW WHY.

  • @Bobjb999 seriously its like talking crap about the people that taught you how to read and write, I hope you now appreciate thank their efforts! Dont talk crap about the best musicians we have now reserve respect for the best specially now that there are so much popularity crap going on

  • @Bobjb999 seriously overrated and inferior, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about if there is a band or a musician that have fought and played agaisnt commercialist band its eddie vedder and pearl jam they got as far more than any band from the last two decades! and are still playing the best music out there. If you take more time and actually listen and UNDERSTAND their music, style, and philosophy then you would have more idea on whats music

  • I Was Not Aware that Bob Dylan did this originally I am So floored By this ... Wow

  • @Arimanthael true story..

  • The Million Dollar Bashers band here includes: Tom Verlaine,Lee Renaldo,Steve Shelley,Tony Garnier,John Medeski,Smokey Hormel,&Nels Cline.

-So how come very worthy artists like Verlaine,Renaldo,&others are "slumming" by backing an over-rated,musical-inferior like Vedder?Just 'cause Pearl Jam(aka "Jism")sold more albums than Television&Sonic Youth hardly means they're better. It just means PJ found a lower common denominator audience...Sort of like McDonalds toxic, crap food & "Billions Served" !

  • Interesting how different emotions can each of the covers summon up

  • Wow!! Great sound mix!! Super cool!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • not as good as Jimi's

  • @jamesupjimmy jimi's version is played out.........however musically it is a marvel

  • @kishaba1980 meh, fair point =D

  • @jamesupjimmy not as good as dylans?

  • Mah husband covering a song by my idol artist, which was also covered by my idol guitarist, and also covered by an honorary black man

  • this is a greasy version

  • Just grooveshark bob dylan's version lol.

  • Where the fuck is Dylan's version?

  • @gimell88 Bob Dylan is the original writer of All along the Watchtower....everyone just covers his song

  • @kishaba1980 Well, obviously

  • I uploaded Bob Dylans version I don't know how long its gonna be there for and I don't really care if you look but its there.

  • @falci52 They already blocked it on your channel

  • Sounds more like a cover of the jimi hendrix cover of all along the watchtower...great nonetheless.

  • Unicorns done exist...unless you BELIEVE its there...BELIEVE !

  • whos version is this

  • Haha, so true Rattlehead......

  • No, it is a amazing cover but it can never beat dylans version.

  • @ancalagog6 hendrix's cover sucks comparing to the original

  • It's Eddie Vedder, lead singer in pearl jam :) Excellent cover :)

    bob dylanz my idol...

  • when searching for original bob dylan, look no further than grooveshark [dot] com

  • Comment removed

  • Bob Dylan is stingy when it comes to his music being posted online. The only ones you'll find are the ones uploaded by Vevo.

  • Comment removed

  • Eddie Vedder covering Bob Dylan!!! Mr. Vedder you're so overrated and you're trying so hard but dont go there please!!!

  • @Pink000Floyd Fuck the fuck off!

  • i liked jimi hendrix cover better. This ones still really good tho. Hendrix was a big fan of bob dylan i think

  • The owners of Dylan's back-catalogue (don't know if it is him) must go through youtube, wiping all traces of bob dylan. One point there was plenty of original dylan, then, like a puff of smoke, there was none.

  • eddie vedder rules

    pearl jam rules

    bob dylan rules

    and jimi ruled

  • EDDIE!!! FUCKING LEGEND!!!

  • I lied, it is Bm

  • @SmarterDen3 I learned it was Am

  • anyone know the tabs or what key the song is in? I think its Em not sure

  • anyone know the tabs or what key the song is in?

  • vedder why r u covering hendrix's version? ur supposed to be doing dylans version

  • Dylan, Hendirx, Vedder...Oh, God, it's musical Heaven no matter how you put it.

  • can anyone send me a link to the original bob dylan version when it's not live?

  • @OsmanExpress

The original Bob Dylan studio version -

After all, folks - he did write the tune. Wiki states that he like's Jimi's better...

    youtube.com/watch?v=vJO6QmV5fu4

  • @ShotgunScherling Yeah, because Wiki is so reliable...

  • @harchert Meh, if you check it twice its usualy ok, and you can always check the sources.

  • @C603032 Nyeh, true that

  • Not a single original Bob Dylan song on Youtube.

  • @xallanx12

Not true. It's sad that people make fortunes from ripping of his songs, but I only post original studio versions (with the exception of rare live performances and officially unreleased versions). Search my channel for Bob Dylan, etc.

  • Old music is the best, fuck all this new rap/pop/techno shit, and don't bring up that "80s rap is good" bullshit, all rap sucks, and you know NOTHING about music if you think 80s rap is good...

  • @chaclapa

    hoorah

  • Do Beasty Boys count as rap, then?

  • @frikyouall They are Rap, and they suck, thats a fact, don't reply.

  • Okay Mr. Serious.

  • @chaclapa Your moist

  • @chaclapa no, over produced music sucks no matter the genre.

  • @chaclapa no one genre of music is better than another is just depends what you like you like old music someone else might like rap you're not going to convince the other that rap is better or old music is better so there is no point in putting down another genre of music

  • @titusville4life listen, I think every single person nowadays who makes music is just in it for the money. Prove me wrong.

  • @xallanx12 You're probably right but a lot of people back then were in it for money too maybe not as many as now but still

  • @xallanx12

If you're good at something, never do it for free.

  • @chaclapa yes i'm so agree

  • @chaclapa Bob Dylan completely ripped off Soulja Boy.

    Trololol

  • where can i find the original fucking version of this!?

  • I'm not there is my favourite Dylan verse

  • Comment removed

  • @ronaldik14

    Kill it with fire!

  • There's freakin' no original videos by Bob dylan here.

  • @xallanx12 i know!!!!!!! if you ever find one please tell me

  • @Bodomterror696969: watch?v=vbqx_fyEpmw does it for me, just ignore the Guitar Hero souds before and after the song and you'll be fine.

  • @MrForsyth91 oooh yea i found that one like an hour ago actually but thanks, you find anything else tell me ill do the same haha

  • @xallanx12 it's because of stupid Sony

  • blood and wine and blood are thick but wine is quicker than blood when blood is letter when letter is latter then latter i meet thee beneath the table top belief the table top belief is quicker i sink like a migheter and might i but enter to feast in the stable and to borrow from cain never able to borrow what was LENT lent was for more sorrow...am i done?

  • @TheFriedLiverAttack totally radical man

  • @TheFriedLiverAttack ...what?

  • Finding Bob Dylan's version is like trying to find a unicorn... Lol

  • @RattleheadAnthony Apperently I found a unicorn in my moms cd-stash...

  • @RattleheadAnthony Because it sucks. (not this one, the orrigonal)

  • @C603032 Hey asshole, if it sucks, then why the fuck did Jimmy Hendrix and Eddie Vedder among others cover it? Don't post stupid comments, PLEASE.

  • @Rattlehead chill, maby its just me but I hate dylans singing, so for me the performance by him sucks. I love the song, and the lyrics are epic so I give him credit for that much.

  • @C603032 Dylan doesn't suck by anymeans, he made himself stand out. He's one of the greatest musicians of all time, Vedder, Hendrix, G'n'R and even Cash covered his work. He's a savior to the music industry; if you don't like

Dylan then you don't like music. 'Nuff said.

  • @ItAintAGameNoMo forgut to mention John Lennon and the Beatles they covered Dylan many times since he was the main influence on them....Dylan is the greatest poet ever

  • @C603032 Nope, you're an idiot. Dylan's is the best version, and Dylan's voice is the perfect voice for those words. "There must be someway outta here", in Dylan's exasperated, almost defeated sounding voice is perfect. Hendrix's version is good, but it doesn't at all capture the same tone as Dylan's.

  • @jerryhello100 Or maybe he just has an opinion that happens to be different to yours... I prefer Hendrix's version, but I wouldn't go calling you an idiot because you don't. It's your opinion.

  • @HuDaFuK He said Dylan's version sucks. If someone prefers one thing that is fine, but don't say the thing that made that version possible sucks.

Maybe you should check out contexts before you go making judgments.

  • @LeondoBofi - Jimi. Your smart ass correction is invalid don't you feel stupid...

  • @VanargrandsEnd touche

  • @RattleheadAnthony ya thats hella fuckin annoying, u know why it is?

  • @RattleheadAnthony whaha so true ;)

  • @RattleheadAnthony lol i agree

Its like trying to find a leprechaun with gold

  • @RattleheadAnthony yeah all you have to do is type it on google

  • @RattleheadAnthony Its on guitar hero. :D

  • @RattleheadAnthony

and like so much Bob, his version is the best!

  • @RattleheadAnthony second that

  • @RattleheadAnthony haha i know! thank god i have it on my ipod or id never get to hear it!

  • @RattleheadAnthony AMEN! There are seriously NO actual Bob videos on here! Somebody needs to fix that!

  • @RattleheadAnthony and I did! Here: h t t p : / / w205.wrzuta.pl/audio/0oVnctf4n4d/bob_dylan_-_all_along_the_watchtower

  • @RattleheadAnthony

    Ain't that the frakin truth!

  • @RattleheadAnthony Watchmen OST, I think.

  • i like hendrix version better but only cuz i heard his first this one kicks ass to

  • where can i find bob dylans version o_O

  • @OPdAtLife youtube. We've tried. iTunes best bet.

  • well this isnt jimi or bob and its sounds liek poop sorry whoever did this cover you makin a great song sound like crap

  • @username0727 This is Eddie Vedder... Surely you've heard of him...

  • Love all versions! Dylan, Hendrix, McCreary!!

  • great song , hendrix's cover is better tho . but bob dylan is a great singer

  • prefer jimi version but bob is a legendary musician in his own right. fact.

  • Dylan, The Legend, The Voice of A Generation , The 60's Icon , singer, songwriter, composer, innovator and political activist. If you have not turned on and tuned into the works of Bob Dylan then sadly you have missed one of the greatest talents in the history of the world. His music has been covered by every major band know on earth from Blowin In The Wind, to Knockin on Heavens Door. Thank you Bob for your talent, your legacy will stand the test of time.

  • i just want to find the god damn original but nooooo

  • hendrix better.

    dylan less better.

song is better than most songs out today.

    live with good music.

  • i think dave matthews did a pretty legit cover

  • i think dylan wrote songs to be covered

  • Ed is my favourite singer but Jimi's version is defenitly way better. However it's still really good.

  • Oh my.

  • I really like the way Hendrix did it.

  • PURE SHITE!

  • this is eddie vedder singing right? yes it is! sounds great!

  • right when i clicked this video, i knew one of the top rated comments would have Hendrix mentioned.

Poor Bobby. He wanted to get away from the folk scene so bad, he wanted to show everyone how rock he could be, so he writes this... and Hendrix, God of Psychedelic rock covers it... and steals any sort of rock Dylan had in his albums.

  • @1richards ... ma baaad

  • Vedder does a good interpretation of Dylan's masterpiece.

  • I think there are some covers out there that just need to be there. People immediately hate covers so often. But I mean, it was really always a sign of friendship and respect back in the day. Bob Dylan was a huge civil rights activist back in the day. Bound to have been friends with Hendrix. Johnny Cash even covered Dylan. I wouldn't be surprised if there's troves of music we'll never hear.

  • awesome cover!..and i just learned this lyrics with attention and realized that Jimi Hendrix was a god on earth

  • I'm a huge, huge, huge Hendrix fan, however I do prefer this version just on the ground that it is more harmonic, I think with the Hendrix cover the focus is on his ability to play the guitar like a god. I like Dylans voice in this.

  • @josealajahose um...this is eddie vedder singing. not bob.

  • iLove Bob Dylan, and iLove Heath Ledger, so this movie, I'm Not There, is clearly about Bob Dylan and Heath Ledger is in this movie, so iStole it from the library >:)

  • Dyaln gave birth to an angel, Hendrix gave her wings

  • @20MrBigmac friend that may be the greatist and truest comment anyone has ever placed on this site ever

  • @20MrBigmac I totally agree with that

  • @20MrBigmac Great statement, great statement.

  • @20MrBigmac The angel he gave birth to could not have given more perfect words.

  • @20MrBigmac Best phrase i've read on youtube.

  • @20MrBigmac i knew it bob dylans is god

  • @20MrBigmac no words were better spoken that was a great way to put it

  • of course it was Dylan who did it first. He even said that he thought Hendrix's version was better. And he is the one who said that no good songs been made since 1990.

  • thats an awsome song

  • Great version

  • Did Dylan write this song? or was it Hendrix?

  • @xenocide8 Dylan.

  • @xenocide8 dylan

  • this is a great mix of hendrix and dylon. vedder goes back to the roots, like it!

  • so who did thsi first?

  • @454sskilla i think it was bob dylan. then jimi hendrix did a cover of it.

  • @454sskilla Dylan wrote the song and it was then covered by Hexdrix.

  • dave does it best sorry

  • @sperry505 Dave from DMB ? Love it too. The one at Folsom Fields is... wow

  • Hendrix, by far.

  • is anyone else having a hard time find a video of bob Dylan performing this song, there are 100000+ covers but i can't find the original

  • one of the better covers tbh. feels a bit like jimmi hendrix:)

  • jimi boy me brother from an other father does the best cover to this song he does it better then dylan also all thoe it is his song

  • eddie vedder is fucking amazing jimi hendrix is fucking amazing bob dylan is fucking amazing they akk just made this song fucking amazing three times over!

  • Comment removed

  • I love Hendrix's version of the song, (Dylan's not so much, yeah I know awesome compositor, but i just don't like it a lot) but this is great too

  • It's a fucking awesome song no matter who does it.

  • Ditto.

  • who cares what style or who it is based on....my guess is the person covering this likes the song and is ding a job of it .....either listen or dont, but your complaints are defening my musical joyment

  • I was hunting for Bob Dylan's version and I stumbled on this one and it sounds pretty damn good.

  • I really like this. Its not as good as some others though.

  • he's not covering hendrix, he's covering dylan.

  • Hendrix covered this song so this is Dylan's song.

  • Played in the style of Jimi, yes.

Dylan wrote it, no doubt, and Jimi reinvented it to the point where Bob plays it in the vein of Jimi's style nowadays. I think both were equally influential in making it one of the greatest songs of all time: Dylan for the lyrics and melody and Jimi for the music between the verses.

  • hendrix did it da best

  • Vedder always rules !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
