  • i'm not against commercial marketing techniques which are transparent and ethical. Money back guarantee works for me as well as samples - i like having these as side effects are so common! and somewhat unpredictable. Oftimes the difference between generic and brand name IS important - the carrier the fillers the coatings even the packaging and even the handling between lab and retail - they make up a component of drug action and shelfllife and ease of use that is of pharmaceutical importance.

  • why disguise your voice cowards?I got a novel idea-let's mandate that pharmaceutical companies give their drugs away for free. This way, everyone can benefit from new novel drugs.

Idiots like you that do not understand supply and demand will never have a effin clue. Many things dictate price:patent life, amt of $ req. to do clinical studies, and prevalence of the disease for which the FDA DICTATES its use. When will someone expose the ambulance chasing attorney's for all their class action scams?

  • great post! All true.

i wrote about this on salon this month. Dr. Evan S. Levine

  • Generics are not the same as name branded allowing 20% error in active ingredient. The Pharmacists can change the script to generic unless the MD writes DNS which is rarely done. the Pharmacists will switch without telling you. What if you thought you were buying a BMW but were given a Yugo. How would you feel?

  • Hey you morons this is called selling and sells. Do you think that Papa John's doesn't know how many pizzas they sell and which stores are selling. Get a life!

  • @geodeuce

Hey you moron-this is not pizza-it is drugs and more people are killed by pharmeceutical drugs every year in the US than in the wars we are fighting. And if you keep eating at Papa John's bonehead-you will be one of those statistics.

  • this is bs this is making the exception look like the rule

  • There are bad employees in every industry and clearly these are two them. I am a rep myself and don't engage in any of these practices, nor do I know any rep that does. By the way, gpilto, if you think your doctor is handing over his/her prescription pad because we bought them soup and sandwiches for lunch, then you should find a new doctor. Any doc I speak to has patient's best interest at heart, including the cost of the medication. It looks like you may have watched SICKO 1 too many times

  • i just went and looked on your site. I am very sorry for what you have been through. it is unfathomable that in 2008 in the U.S. that occurs. But there are good ethical companies and doctors that save patients lives on a daily basis. I am involved with people who make a positive diffenence in patients lives on a daily basis.

  • If there are 2 products with similiar efficacy and the same formulary status.... the doc may write for the rep they like better. but to say they would do it at the expense of the patients health or docs are not made to use the cheapest drugs by the ins companies just shows you might have missed something during your informative "news reports"--- maybe you did not realize they were not back from commercial??

  • and comparing this to a crack deal??? if the patient tries the drug and it gets blood pressure under control, or blood sugar controlled etc, they probably should stay on it. Don't u think? Little different then crack, huh?

  • Insurance companies make the docs write generics first, if they fail on a generic then they can try branded products. its called a step edit. Did they not discuss that on your "news reports" you watched?

  • the fact that your source of info is "many investigative news reports" lets me know that you have no clue. Doctors sample to make sure the drug works on the patient before making them pay for it

  • this has to be a joke. If doctors are bought this easy, we are in trouble. docs will use generics first, then when they fail they have to go to branded products. anyone with true experience in the field knows this is a joke.

  • You can't be serious....So this one guy, who may or may not have done well in the pharma industry, likens sales calls and samples to 'crack deals on the street'? I hope no one watches this and thinks, "Wow - our nation's health is totally corrupt!" This is a great example of those who seek to use this "proof source" to validate their argument that MDs are bought by drug companies. This makes me laugh - what a joke.

  • "Wow - our nation's health is totally corrupt!" ...about the only correct thing you said.... that and that " MDs are bought by drug companies" you think?? 50 ++ million Americans with worse health care than the average Cuban, you should be ashamed. and Americans tell others what to do and how to do it. bunch of fools. can't even take care of it's own soldiers.

  • Excellent. I hope the victims of all legalized drug pushers, I mean doctors, get this information.

  • im pharmed out to. so what you doing now?
