  • That was a total misuse of electronics know how. Completely irresponsible, I love it!

  • i cant find a 'audio transformer' could i use any type of transformer?

  • @munteanu888 u can get a small one from a flash crad ,

  • "Don't tase me, bro!"

  • Nice video :D definatly be making one of these tomorrow!

  • Holy Shit Cappy :) Never knew you could do any of this, its aweosme :D

This is Rhys and Arabs account, see you at vital and highflyers sometimes, subscribed to you man, sub to us :)

  • what exactly is the name of this transformer used?

  • Great vid. Im gonna build one.

  • wow i bet that hurt

  • I cant make mine i font know the steps for multiplier exactly pleAse do a tutorial now!!!!!

  • excellent project, I will definitely be building one to have a try! I'm busy building some inverters at the moment, so this is the next project.

  • hi cappydawg, can you tell me what audio transformer you use?

i used a tr lt700 but it did not work!when i use a normal transformer it works fine.

    thanks.

  • please can you help me, which side of the audio transformer do you connect to the NPN transistor, primary or secondary? my secondary has 3 pins and(3.2ohms) and primary has 2 at(1.2k) not exactly the same as in the diagram but should work:), i tried it in reverse like shown in your video(secondary connected to NPN transistor) and it showed about the same wave on my osecilloscope as on yours but it was only like 5v it should be around 100v, not sure what to do, any advice would be great thanks.

  • That audio transformer is only avaiable in america at radio shack or something, is there anything else I can use? Cheers.

  • @Thor2233 you can use a phone charger

in it there is a similar transformer

  • @Thor2233 maplins in the uk sell them lt 700

  • can I use lower voltage capacitors like 100v or so? will it spark? or would I have to use more of them thanks

  • cant find the transformer. =/

  • @RavenRof maybe use one from a power adapter of 230v to 9v in reverse? that might do the trick? (someone correct me if im wrong please)

  • Transformer is to small....:)

  • heeey its lois's brother! finally hit puberty did ya?

  • Male Louis from Family Guy!!!???!!!1

  • Fuck that was fucking awesome vid man your awesome

  • try making a homemade projector you know like they use in cinema , or if you are really smart a homemade 3d projector lol

  • "and what goo is a taser if its never used?"

    AAUUUUAAAAAAGGHHHAAAHHUUUHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Which of the three primary wires on the transformer connect to where?

  • jimmy neutron shit right here

  • is he a 13 year old boy. this boy can Experiment with electronic.wow

  • funny 1 cap its josh h

  • cappydawg i cant find a "BD 679 npn power transistor" can you provide any substitute thats easier to find its for our gruop project this week, hope you could help me. thanks

  • @genussalticah Literally any npn transistor that can handle about 8 amps will do.

  • f you youtube and your subscribtion limits D:

  • Please maje a vid showing how exactly u wired it would really help

  • make a inverter

  • this was just what i need thanks man im going to make a stun gun that shoots

  • LOL a shitload!!!!!

  • i am not smart like you so i heard blah blah blah momentary swith more blah blah blah

what good is a taser that is never used ahhh :-)

  • hey cappy - thanks for all the help - will have a vid response for you soon - God Willing - and it's gonna be FUNNY!

was just wondering - can i leave these continuously on so as to work as an electric fence - or will the caps blow from overcharging?

if not - how can i set it up to stay on constantly hooked up to two sets of wires across the windows and doors?

    thanks in advance,

  • Was wondering if a transformer from an alarm clock would work for this?

  • RE ssii i have all it and I WANT THE 555 timer I CANT TO FIND :(

  • man you are good :d

  • also i know you said forget the multiplier put will it work with the caps i got? thanks cappy i hope i can get this working.

  • thanks for responding cappydawg but i don't have accesses to an oscilloscope right now really wish i did. also i already tried doing that with the transistor and it didn't really do anything. I'm also not getting any high pitched wine. i replaced the two capacitors cause i thought that might be the problem still not getting anything i'll try that led trick. um i hate to ask this but could you do a re-shot on this not that you got yours to work much more detailed this time.

  • @zhunt20010 use a multimeter to test for continuity on all connections from the 555 timer first - then check for the caps and diodes - can't remember what i used - but i fiddled about with the multimeter and it gives a response one way only - test from beginning of each diode to the near center beginning of each capacitor, also make sure you got the bd679 connected properly - its ECB from the front (black) side.

    peace

  • okay so i couldn't find the same capacitors you used in the right voltage so i got radial electrolytic ones instead. i noticed in the diagram that the capacitors aren't labeled for polarity but mine are is that a problem. i know if you don't hock up some capacitors up right they explode. please i need your help.

  • @zhunt20010 that's a problem - the one's he used are ceramic disc - they don't have polarity - you can get them on ebay,

    peace

  • MORE VIDEOS!!

  • You got a thumbs up for 2 reasons

    1. it works

    2. you tried it lol

  • 5 bucks says he will make the flying car or some shit like that

  • u rule dude

  • i know this was asked before but i was hopping to get a strait answer so i can just take a normal bug zapper (swatter kind) attach the amplifier circuit to the end and it will work just as well as if i made everything cause that will save me some time and money. also if i do that do i still need the transformer or is just pretty much attach the amplifier and that's it? thanks in advance for the help, i really need this for the stun glove I'm building.

  • @zhunt20010 just keep adding diodes and caps, it just holds the voltage

  • Is there anyway that a similar circuit is used in the mass production stunguns????? why i ask as i have built many of my own stun guns before and i get the spark lenth no problem but getting a bright spark is a problem

    kind regards

  • @VrIgHtEr You are right about the voltage, i worded my senctence wrongly... but you must understand that 2 diodes and 2 capacitors equate to one stage... you can't have just one rails of caps for this to work, otherwise is won't stabilize properly.

  • is ther any difference between 1n4007 and 1n4007S diode??

  • YOU ARE AMAZING! YOU JUST SAVED ME FROM GETTING ROBBED!

  • can i use the transformers inside phone charger to replace the audio transformer?

  • you could have made it smalller

  • music?????O__O

  • @shadow0700 youtube.c0m/djniyou

  • @cappydawg i found it :D

  • @shadow0700 lolz u like it??

  • @cappydawg yes its awesome =)

  • @cappydawg if that transformer steps down/up voltage then why is it called an AUDIO transformer???

  • @humxa24 it's used to power small audio amplifiers...

  • @humxa24 it's used in amplifiers and radios and stuff

  • hey man the wierd guy asked how to make an photon cannon that ban blow up like wook can you make it? or like message me how to i need to know because of my engineering class i am suppose to make one like i told them i would and now i cant find any schematics can you help?

  • Comon man! More videos !

  • @anddontcallmeshirly lolz sorry man, been working bulk lately. hopefully more vids soon XD

  • great vid cappy - was wondering - can i add 2 1kv diodes - and would it double - if so - would it have to be in series or parallel?

  • @abz2000123 you can double up diodes in series, but if you put them directly in parallel then one will fail followed by the other

  • @cappydawg Thanks, would it be better to double the diodes, or carry on adding capacitors at the end?

And if we use more powerful capacitors do we use different resistors?

  • @abz2000123 wha??? lolz you confuse me....a 1 kv diode between each cap. will be fine, there's no need to add a resistor unless you have a design in mind where you release the cap. over a period of time... and we're making a taser here, so you want to kill the fucker :)

  • @cappydawg thanks again! i found the components, apart from the audio transformer, got tons of used parts here, pulled a transformer off an energy saving light bulb but it seems different, whats the best equipment to find it in?

and am a little stuck on that part as the diagram shows 2 points and the transformer in your vid and on ebay show 5 points, where do all the points go?

would b over d moon if u put a coupla picz / diagram on photobucket or emailed me at : abz @ abzcomputers dotcom : )

  • @cappydawg cappy - thanks for the patient replies man - you got me inventing!

i got the audio transformer and some decent wima capacitors,

but the ones on the left of the diagram have me confused, you have a 10n and a 100n - what's the voltage on those?

and i also got a decent audio transformer, again - it has 3 pins on the input end, though the diagram shows 2 - which one is spare?/ which do i join with another?

    a waiting for your reply,

    thanks in advance

  • @abz2000123 10n and 100n capacitors should be at least 16 volts. The audio transformer will have a center tap. use the two outer most wires, and just cut the middle one off. hope you can do this man XD

  • @cappydawg

thanks man! ive gone and got 10n 1kv - and 100n 50 v, for the initial side, is that ok or will it blow the npn transistor?

and with the multiplier capacitors, can i mix and match by adding 2x 10n 2kv at the end instead of some of the 400v (i'm using 10n 1kv as i heard the 400v tend to burn up)?

thanks again, am awaiting your EXPERT advice! 29 years old, with a teacher half my age - still, knowledge is power (in megavolts).

  • @abz2000123 as long as the capacitance i believe it should be the same. If you mix capacitors with different capacitances you might get a significantly lower than expected capacitance. the reciprocal of the total capacitance is the sum of the reciprocals of the individual capacitors (remember that the voltage multiplier is in essence a bunch of capacitors in series)

  • @cappydawg i did it cappy!!! and i got my wife with it at 3 am : ) thanks! charged it up nice aswell - used 10n 1250v on the left (near the 100n) - i do get the capacitors or something making a hissing simmering sound when i charge them up - is that ok?

thanks for all the guidance though!!!!!!!

love watching the arc - now i'm thinking of messing around with arcs a bit more,

    peace

  • @abz2000123 HAHHA nice man. hopefully you can try post a video response about it aye XD the hissing sound is normal because the input signal is around 8Khz. thanks for completing it man.

  • make a stun gun

  • wow ur cool:) (seriously i think ur pretty cool all the awesome stuffs u can make)

  • The new kipkay

  • do you know the stats of the transformer specifically the amps?

  • where the hell do you get all your supplies radio shack doesnt sell anymore

  • u r smart as fuck i didnt know wat u were doing

  • this dude is smart

  • 1:42 why the fuck was that dudes hand on his nuts

  • @IDemonicbiowave lol, he thought i was gonna hit him. haha

  • you should try to hook one of these to two good water guns filled with salt water solution ....i think a couple small super soakers would work awsome

  • @soflytattooguy you saw that off mythbusters. lol

  • will it work if i add the multiplier to the output contacts of a bug zapper ?

  • Comment removed

  • can i just use a bug zapper's circuit and add the multiplier ?

  • @Techh76 yea, but what's the fun in that? making the circuit is the fun part :P

  • @cappydawg i'd make it but i cant get a transformer.

  • great video, what model transformer is that? havin trouble finding one. thanks

  • @abeeest Sorry i don;t know the model. just find any transformer that steps down mains and reverse it

  • yes , tell please i'm interested too

  • hey can you tell me whats the model of the audio transformer ?

  • don't use 400v 10nf it don't work if it does it burns out use 1 kv 10nf make sure it ceramic the poly shit dont work for me. .

  • you made your things really better than when you were young great job

  • hi i have used ccfl inverter (pc type) and attach the two wires to the 4 stage multiplier circuit like the one in your video. but i do not seem to get spark .

  • the transformer should be input dc/ac and output dc/ac? and at the end of multiplier the final output is 20kV dc/ac? thx

  • @matooo95 basttery comes in dc. 555 pulses dc to transformer to simulate half a wave of ac. voltage multiplier has many diodes on it and rectifies everything to 20 kv dc.

  • i like how much more advanced your projects are dude. just watched a years worth of your vids. your doing good.

  • @UBERKron glad to know bro XD keep watching :P

  • Thts rele cool but i made one tht shoots i dnt know wat its called but its one that the cops use

  • I can't find a 240v miniature transformer ,do you know if a 120v can work?

  • @Frencois33 sure will, but you'll only get half the voltage don;t forget XD

  • My question might seem stupid but, i want to know why you use a 9v battery instead of a 12 volt source like in the schematic, does it make the stun gun weaker?

  • @Frencois33 It was a bit weaker, but it's not noticable... you tend to find that you'll still get the same spark gap but it will spark less frequently.

  • @cappydawg how many volts for the 10n and 100n capacitors near the 555 chip?

  • @Frencois33 all capacitors must take at least 12 volts.

  • @cappydawg I am Frencois33's other account. Thanks alot for your help, I am not very skilled in electricity, I prefer mechanicals system. I want to built one of these tasers to replace the existing ignition system on my new flamethrower. See my video and drop some comment!! =D

    BTW You are a genius!

  • Well I managed to make one with a 120v transformer, in fact I only have half the voltage so the two electrodes must be very close to each other to see a spark. If you say that each stage of capacitor can double the voltage, I guess I can add one to compensate

  • @Biomeksys WOW! thats awsome man! please post video response for the world to see :)

  • @Biomeksys if i'm not mistaken it's not a 5 stage multiplier that he built but a 10 stage one. 1 capacitor and one diode make up one stage of the multiplier. Each stage does not double the voltage, but it adds a multiple to it. Example: a 1 stage one would give you 2x the voltage (it adds 1x the voltage to the original one),2 stages add 2x the voltage to the original one giving you a voltage tripler,3 stages give you 4x the voltage etc. As a rule you get (n+1)* the input voltage (n=no of stages)

  • what is the transformer in reverse? you mean 250 V to multiplier and 12 V to 555 and resistors? Can you please show the photos of the back side perfored board (or whatever you call it) and I think 40 miliAmps is enough to kill you, is it? What will happen when you will touch the taser to tongue?

  • @matooo95 You won;t die from this, but tongue would be a bit stupid. and yes... the 240 volt side goes to multiplier and the 12 v side connects to the transistor and 555 timer.

  • @cappydawg ok, thanks, and i have one more question, when I don´t use multiplier I will have just 230 V? When I use 1 stage multiplier, what voltage I will have? I just wnat know, what voltage every stage of multiplier does voltage

  • @matooo95 you'll probably end up getting about 2000 volts from the transformer because the field collapses so quick. and each stage of the multiplier doubles the voltage i'm using 5 stage so i;m getting about 20,000 volts

  • awesome weapon, but do u really have to test it by shocking yourself with it?

  • @JamesZ32100 If you see sparks then your doing fine. But a dude getting tazed is just funny XD

  • @cappydawg well, it is kinda funny XD, do you intend to make a projectile shooter or something like that in the future?

  • @Cappydawg Alright man thanks.

  • @Crnlfrootloops No Probs man. Post a video response if you can XD I wanna see it :P

  • Where can i get a audio transformer from? I cant find one i been to radioshack and looked on amazon.

  • @Crnlfrootloops You can use any 240 volt to 12 volt transformer, wired in reverse just make sure that your transformer doesn't go over the transistor limit. which in this case is 4 amps.

  • I.love.you.man.

  • mooooooooobbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbssssssssssssssss

  • damn dude you rock your the bomb

  • that is some sick ass hell stun gun!!!!!!!!

  • Well, I have everythink but this 555 timer. Can I make it on some other way to make it blinks like your? THANX

  • @Ubojica6661 you should be able to get it at radioshack or sumthing... a ne55 timer is really all you can use or this project, without changing the circuit diagram..

  • @cappydawg Im not able to get 555 timer. I know that there is some kind of timer (it is used in usual blinking led light circuts). In that timer is used transistor, few capacitors, few resistors. Can you please find diagram that is working on that way, and im gonna just attach it instead 555 timer. THANX!

  • @cappydawg Can I use 2 capacitors of 2kv instead youre 5 stage voltage multiple? (is posuble to use 1 stage with 2kv capacitors)

  • @Ubojica6661 each stage of the voltage multiplier multiplies the voltage by 2. if you have 1 stage you will only get 2kv and you might not even get a spark... but you will still get shocked badly, it is really up to you.. personally i like the sparks XD

  • @cappydawg Well, I have adapter from 220v to 12v, and when I attach 2 AA batteries in it, it can spark for about 2mm. That is probably 150v and it sparks on 2mm so, 2kv will be able to spark from a half of centimeter or even a centimetre and it is enuogh for me. Btw, did you have annything more behined you're 5 stage multiple board, or that is it in front of a board?

  • @Ubojica6661 Its all on the Front... Also, The dielectric strength of air is about 3000 volts/mm so I'm pretty dam sure that a lot more than 150 volts came out.

  • @cappydawg Not posuble it was 6000v then. Well, Im trying to lern how to read circut diagrams, but I still don't understain a lots of that. Can we go on this way. Try to say me on this way how to connect it. Let's say that left side of first capacitor is A, and the right is B. Also left side of the other is C and right is D. first diode is E and F, and last diode is G and H. Can you say wich letter to wich letter I have to connect? THANX_!

  • @Ubojica6661 But actually a transformator needs AC or pulses from a 555 timer. So it theoretically couldn't work.

  • @MrJouleJr But that timer actualy is some kind of a transistor.

  • @Ubojica6661 20 to be exact. I might do a video sometime of making a 555 timer with normal transistors ( no Integrated circuit)

  • Thanks for using my comment in the vid!

    Also verry good!

  • did it hurt?:P

  • Cappy what's the music you use in the video? It keeps sucking me back in dammit -_-

  • @xXsomthingXx Check out my Channel for full version of song!!! Dj NiYou - Orchestral Techno XD

  • @xXsomthingXx That other comment wasn't spam.... go to DjNiYou for This Song!

it's called Dj Niyou - Orchestral Techno

  • ahahahahahahah 1:40
