  • How's that Evga X58 Doing I tried to updgrade to Pci-e Usb 3.0 with that board but the external usb 3.0 Wd 3 Tb seem's like to be a ghost on bootup.

  • good system

  • @tombmaster93 thanks..i've upgraded a few things since..but still running like a charm

  • @theRAGEclanmw2 well i upgraded since and now run 2 285's in SLI...runs every game at the highest settings with no issues...i'd say the 460 is better..but 2 285's will give it a run for its money...

  • wow dude how much was that i want 1 ha only because of the leds tho

  • @PVTCONAirsoft the case itself or everything else?

  • @kaptkarl every thing

  • @PVTCONAirsoft at the time it came to about 1300..but you can probably get it for a little cheaper now..maybe..maybe not..

  • @kaptkarl wow but is it just really for gaming or can you use it for any other use or would that be a bit of a waste if you dont use it for gaming

  • @PVTCONAirsoft i use it for a lot of audio/video editing..i need the speed..but i also do a lot of gaming..so it's great for both worlds..

  • nice speakers noob

  • @CRG0785 umm..who gives a fuck

  • @kaptkarl wow! no need to cry, i have this same case but got it ages ago has lasted ages i was thinkin bout gettin the new XClio1000 super tower it looks insane if ur into these cases but has some downsides, as for your speakers i just thought they were cute... but u should totally upgrade nubcake

  • @kaptkarl these speakers will surprise you..but what do you expect..you came here dissing my sound!! As for upgrades, i have gone to the antec 1200 since this case..i found it has more airflow for 2 cards and oc'ing 24/7..

  • Why not a Corsair PSU? lolz

  • @saikimimaru eventually i did upgrade to a corsair psu..850w..also added another gtx 285..which is why i upgraded

  • @kaptkarl Oh nice nice. I really love this case, i think i'm going to buy it pretty soon here. Pretty cheap on Newegg at the moment. You still using it?

  • @saikimimaru i do not use it anymore..i gave it to a buddy of mine who is loving it..i upgraded to the antec 1200 a few months later...i really had no problems with the case..but if you are doing heavy oc'ing..then you might want a little bit more airflow

  • @kaptkarl What would you suggest? I do plan on doing some overclocking with my two 4870's in crossfire and almost a full ghz overclock on my cpu. I was looking at the Xclio windtunnel.

  • @saikimimaru i would say it all depends on preference..i had no problems with this case..but i just wanted something cooler..i live in the southeastern US..so it's warm here quite a bit..i don't think you'd have a problem overclocking and keeping temps fine..but you might be pushing it..

  • hey bro ? for ya is that a ftw 3 mobo what dont and do like about it i just got oine today havent installed it yet kinda wishing i didnt get it

  • @asus3571 it is the x58 3 way sli...so far there isn't anything that i don't like about it..hasn't given me any issues thus far...i have been running 3.8ghz with zero issues

  • @kaptkarl i just installed the ftw 3 lastnight seems to be running pretty good was wondering what settings did u use to achieve that overclock please be as detailed as possible i do know my overclocking but very unfimilier with the evga bios ive always prefered gigabye for itheir ease in overclocking but was in the mood to try a new brand of mainboard bassically just curious thanks and nice rig brother

  • @asus3571 did you get the i7? if so, there is not much to change in the settings..i am running 190x20..which gives you roughly 3.8ghz...all i changed was my cpu voltage 1.25v..my cpu vtt to +150 and dram volts to 1.60v...that's about it..however, all chips are different..what works with mine may not work with yours..so be careful as to what you change and always test the crap out of it!

  • Dude upgrade that Intel Fan can't believe you even used it get a cooler master Hyper 212 microcenter has them for $19

  • intel is better cpu

every person who knows alot of computers would buy the intel.

    it is all about quality

  • im thinking about buying that case. would you recommend it? are there any cons? it looks like it would be good on air flow.

  • Kainhall you are deadwrong.

First off, Intel performs better then AMD in general even in the same clock speed. My intel 2.66 GHZ performs better then my friends 3.2 GHZ. + Intel is way better at clocking, you are a fool buying i7930+ as you can take a i7 920, clock it to 4.2 GHZ with a 150 Dollar fan.

ATI is also not on the top in the GPU market, Nvidia got the worlds best GPU's based on performance, though the price, power consumptions in relations to the performance is REALLY Stiff.

  • I just got that case, and dude... Its flipping awesome! haha and you weren't kidding when you said it was a pain to get out of the box! I had to get my sisters to hold the stupid box while I pulled the thing out lol.

  • haha..dude..nice..the case looks like a jet engine doesn't it..

  • @kaptkarl lol yeah it does. At first I thought I was going to need to mod the case with some more fans... after running it... I have no need to mod it what so ever. Its amazing. Oh and dude, even to this day your system is still really good. You can't go wrong with the i7

  • Comment removed

  • I bet my Skull Trail with 2 qx9775's will stand above and give both of you a GOLDEN SHOWER =P !!!

  • excellent build and case. I want the Xclio Windtunnel. Also, I'm debating on whether to get the i7-920 or the AMD phenom II 4x, probably the amd because im Po, lol. must be exciting to get everything all at once though. 5 stars

  • im an amd fan and since im building a i7 rig i can take a920 and push 4.2, 4.4 on air easily with a good case and Heat sink p2's can touch 4.0ghz if you know what your doing and also if u have a good cooling setup yes amd is on top but as price/performance...

  • not to be hateing but amd and ati are on top right now, i dont know the date you built this but........

    i7= 3.2 $1000

    phenom II = 3.4 $200

also the 5970 stomps the 295. given amd cpu's are slower in games that 800 bucks you save can go to a better cooler or water cooling and make it just as fast or faster then the i7 ALSO THE FIRST 6 CORE CPU IS COMMING FROM AMD lol

  • this was back in March..the i7 2.66 can be overclocked with ease to 3.8 and beyond..all for 200 bucks...i'm running 3.8 on air with my idle temps only in the 30's-40's

  • as it goes the 275 is faster when overclocked..... not to rub it in or anything but the 275 has a faster bus and EASY overclocks to the same specs , Iv also bench marked them and proved this performance increase , Best part is i Can run 3 of these for the price of a 295 sorry hah , oh yeh and by the way the phenom x2 Quad core 965 will over clock to 4 ghz per core and stomp all over your i7 for just 120 quid oop's sorry there i go again

  • Nice case though , Great choice!!!

  • Let's see how big your mouth is once i get the results of the upcoming I9 975 which i will be buying. Look professional people don't have time for being a fanboy because the fight between both companies rages on, trying to prove themselves. Exactly what we want. So take your pubic comment back instead of trying to prove yourself right, yeah, everybody is so deeply involved in overclocking either that they really care... Not, it's all out of the box that actually counts for most people.

  • Cmon then chicken , Lets see your bench marks....

  • Besides, you sure your 275GTX can beat my superclocked? Why don't you give it a try... I'll still beat you in stable framerates continiously. You actually believe that the 275GTX is a better overclocker... Actually not, considering that the GTX285 was the single fastest card available back then with a lot of room for overclocking, why do you think this card got so popular together with the 260GTX anyway? If you're opting for the 275 you might just get the 285 instead...xtra memory comes in handy

  • yeh il put my money where my mouth is, i'Il bet you i can piss on your £1000 i7 with my £200 phenom 965 and after market cooler...

  • the 275s were a good bit cheaper , And i can get all the clock speeds as high and even higher than a stock 285 , you might want to have a look at the amp edition of the 275.. ok the 285 has a little more memory but im running tripple sli so thats the least of my worries

  • my phenom 965 is currently running at 3.99ghz but i can easily take it to 4.2 without the temps going crazy

  • @mimic58 I had professional people testing the I7 920 overclocking speeds for me running on air going up to 4.5Ghz without a problem though. Just don't be hating mate. Both you & i know it's useless, People should know what they are buying & what it's for either way, AMD, Intel, nVidia or ATi you can go either way, if you have a decent budget you can only end up satisfied, as i said earlier, i LOVE competition. Btw. your phenom won't be able to take a piss on my I7 920 @ 4.4Ghz, give it a try.

  • lol at 4.5 ghz they have taken phenoms upto 7 there is even videos on here

Sure il give it a shot happily i can run mine upto 4.5 on my v8 cooler without a problem so if you want a bench mark contest im more than happy to

  • lets see your 3dmark score , I want to see a screen cap , and i will happily do the same

  • @mimic58 Besides as we all know honestly the Phenom 965 at standard clock speeds of 3.4Ghz compared to the 2.7 of the I7 920. It barely performs that much better with already much higher clock speeds, if you testes both like i did & overclock them to their full potential you would know & admit that starting at this range the phenom 965 does NOT stand a chance to knock around the I7 920 while overclocking, why do you think it got so popular? 200€ for that kind of performance? Yup.

  • yes it does their are hundreds of legit bench mark sites out there that have compared to the 2 and in most cases the i70 scores just 1% faster than an O/c'd phenom and most of the bench marks are not done at the full speed you can run these chips at , Check it out for yourself try a few google searches for comparisons

  • @kainhall You have no idea what you are talking about, good sir.

    1. The i7 has considerable advantages over the 965 by AMD. The i7 920 comes clocked at 2.66, yes, however I have mine OC'ed to 3.5 on air cooling. Furthermore, the i7 uses hyperthreading technology, meaning each core has two threads. Thus, you essentially get the performance of an 8 core processor.

Also, you are comparing a 5970 to a 295. The 5970 is both a dual GPU, and it's a generation ahead of the 295. Terrible point to make.

  • @kainhall

Why are you proud off the 6 cores from AMD?, Intel has made some experimental 32 cores or so, they are way ahead in technology. + the 6 cores in relations to the power you can harness from an I7 is rubbish. You should really open you're eyes, all these 6 core shit

  • @cocopara

I can prove my statement that some programs, and games don't harness as many as 6 cores and you may think well it harnesses the other cores but some games and programs where designed for 2-4 cores, therefor in most cases a 6 core will perform worse or at the maximum 10% better then a 4 core. In some programs or games

  • NVIDIA GEFORCE 3-vga is the best

  • man i just bou... it today and i can turn it on, the power butto... doesn't work, and i don't know how to plug the cables correctly =[ helpppp

  • @yedesmir1 see building my gaming rig videos on you tube.

  • how is the cable management on that case? is there any at all?

  • there isn't much room for proper cable management..you can't even take the side panel off to put cables..

  • @kaptkarl Both sidepanels come off easily for this case :P

However, as he said, there is no built in cable management. I wired everything along the PSU rail, and just crammed all extra wires into the drive bays.

  • lol, loving the dog..

  • just curious, im wanting to build my first comp. Would a AMD phenom II with a Biostar mother board and 4g ram. And a EVGA GeForce 9600 be a good build? Same case lol. And think it can handle MW2 nicely?

  • @TsF298 depends how big your monitor is the 9600 would be good with something around 15-19" and i would personally go with a intel cpu with a gigabyte mb and corsair ram

  • not too sure about AMD chips..I have always gone with intel..Although I've heard good things about that chip..You have plenty of ram unless you do a lot of audio and video editing, in that case 6-8gb would be better..The 9600 gpu is a very good card..but I would recommend anything in the 200 series..the prices are falling and should fall even further by christmas..if you are staying in the 9 series..i'd go with the 9800..All of what you have listed should handle MW2 pretty well..

  • hi what is the speed for the i7 920 3.33 ghz ?? i dont remeber:D

  • at stock it is 2.66 but very easy to overclock..currently i am running 3.8ghz with only minor adjustments to voltages..

  • ok :D Can you fell you are using 3.8 GHz and not 2.66 :D i heard thaht oc wont do a shit for you Intel i7 core. i might be wrong :)

  • I use evga e-leet..which is an overclocking tool and cpuid..and I've run Linx tests which all state that i am running 3.8..I can tell a huge difference from 2.66 to 3.8..anything over that and you really cannot tell a difference performance wise..

  • ok thank you

  • You need to exercise. All I can hear is you huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf from little red riding hood. o__O

  • I'm in fine shape, just can't breathe through my nose..scares the hell out of people..

  • your voice make me hanger!!!!

  • "lookin good lookin sharp, lookin tough!

" lol love the rig mate

  • you know, you are the only one who got that! good call!

  • The intro is high...that lock and door :D

  • damn you karl no wonder ya always kill me lmao that is a sweet rig i'm jealous ...you have inspired me to build my own rig ...good job.....fleetline49 :)

  • thanks buddy! it was fun to build but more fun to play on :) And it's cheaper to build your own!

  • You should probably have done a better job with the cable management if you were going to use a case with a window.

  • I agree..i'm not too thrilled with the cables..This case does not provide much in terms of concealment..:( I'm looking into the antec 1200

  • my fav part of the whole vid was you saying wonderful 2 times

  • simple!

  • psu is overkill 600 watts will easily run it. but u do have room for expansion

  • exactly..for what I have is plenty..and you said it..when and if I upgrade..I'll be set :)

  • Does the case matter?

  • You want something with good airflow..this case provides it..

  • alright thanks ^_^

how much was all this in total anyways ?

  • roughly 1300 or so..still no complaints!

  • do you buy a room for your computer.the room is special for PC?

    nice vid!!!

  • haha..No..but not a bad idea!

  • Newegg absolutely rules.

  • The Newegg propaganda lol, I remember the first time I got some, I was so confused. I guess they want you to go door-to-door and place it on their doors. As long as I get my parts, I don't care =).

  • Very nice rig man very nice Evga/G-Skill/Intel are the best

  • Don't forget Corsair.

  • Hey i was gunna get the same CPU and Motherboard but the motherboard said its support with FSB QPI 6.4GT/S. Does this matter?

  • Nop it dopesnt all x58 motherboards say that, they are all capable of more

  • Im planning on building my first computer soon. Can you give me any comments on your components, installation, and cost of your computer? *Yes I am going to make a gaming computer*

  • So far I love it..however i have changed the cooler to a coolermaster v8..other than that..what you see was fairly easy to install and cost under 1400

  • You have a Intel i7 920 2.66 right?

  • I got same graphics card.. but the 2gb version.. wats the diffrenc?

  • well obviously the memory..but my graphics card came OC'ed at 720..which the ones they are putting out now are 702...still fast as fast can be!

  • good pc gz

  • thank you..i highly recommend picking one up!

  • I'm getting same RAM and CPU as you =)

  • you're gonna love it..i currently have it OC'ed at 3.8GHZ with no problems

  • i hear good things about that 285 ftw. can it maxed out any game. Even ARMA,CRYSIS,&COD4&5 and still get 60 fps???? i wonder

  • Crysis..not maxed..but darn close..i've been getting about 80 or so with COD..all depends on if you like to overclock or not..

  • o one more thing How much did all your parts cost together.

  • about 1300USD..tax and shipping made it a little more..but not by much

  • DUDE MAN AWESOME! I ordered similar system tuesday evening, CAN'T WAIT! Specs... - Antec 1200 - Corsair HX1000w - Asus P6T Deluxe v2 - Core i7 920 @ 2,66 Ghz - Corsair Dominator DHX+ DDR3 1600MHz 6GB - Asus GTX 285 - Samsung 750 GB Spinpoint F1 - DVD Burner, Samsung - Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 - Windows Vista Home Premium English 64-bit - HP w2408h 24" 1920x1200
  • man kyt you make me want to cry,,,,,

  • nice rig man!

  • Damn dude, you have almost my EXACT set-up I'm about to order, only difference is I'm using a

    PC Power & Cooling PSU

    and

    GTX 285 SSC Edition

    and

    Cooler Master RC-690

How do you like the set up?

  • sounds like it's going to be a beast as well! I have stock cooling at the moment and it doesn't do a bad job..the cpu is oc'd to 3.2 and it stays in the low 50's upper 40's in idle..

Sucks you can't get the FTW card..that thing is super fast!

  • Yea, they don't have it on Newegg anymore, and it i couldn't find it at like 3 other sites/stores either.... so I'm going with the next best thing...

GTX 285 SSC is just a little bit slower, so it's still gonna be a HUGE step up from my old Dell im using right now...

  • Captian Killa Karl. ill be watching....

  • Looking good KaptKarl!

  • Thank You Sir!

  • If only I could afford over here in nz, hope it all runs smooth. KYT

  • Hey im building the same thing just a Coolmaster HAF, and 12 gig of g.skill and a different harddrive/PSU, I hope mine kicks ass. :)

  • Are you using the same case? I am looking for a cpu fan/heatsink that will fit..not sure which ones will! Other than that..this build is superfast!

  • no im using a Coolmaster H.A.F 932 i beleive, its a nice case and i have never seen that case before so i dunno what would fit?? think about water cooling just incase it might not

  • Nice how much did it cost?

  • it ran a little over 1300 not including shipping...
