Guys not to be negative and all. but for $499? You'll get the same performance from FUSION by OSTER, (you can buy 7 of these with that price) mine's even got a digital control panel and is VARIABLE SPEED enabled too.
(Have I mentioned it can reverse the blade? yes, it turns clockwise and counter-clockwise AUTOMATICALLY.)
@kkjgg112391 I have a fusion by oster as well as an vitamix and the only analogy that holds true is that u get what you pay for. The vitamix was purchased because the fusion was very limited in what it coild be used for, while new it crushes ice and stands up to soft fruit and will contnue to do so if the blades are replaced every three months. The vitamix excells at things u won't try with the fusion, like nut butters, kneading bread, and shredding veggies for a smooth not lumpy smoothie,
If only over-rated but otherwise well priced Costco could explain about the blade better. They say all that's possible by the 2HP motor they claim this blender has.
I own a Vita-mix blender and it's the most used machine in my kitchen. The money it's saved me from not having to buy pre-made fruit juice, smoothies, and other foods it paying for it's self. Heck, I even make my own bread daily with fresh wheat berries. It's great. I highly recommend one.
I have attended many homeshows and have yet to see these machines. I have seen them at costco, but wow nothing as goodlooking as these. Can I expect to see these hot new colors soon?
Buy one with largest container, the smaller one gets stuck alot. In all, it's not the same as using a regular blender, you have to learn how to use it, to not break it.
i actually got a better deal buying it from amazon than straight from vitamix because i didnt have to pay sales tax through amazon (but did through vitamix). also got free shipping on amazon.
This blender seems worth the splurge--since so many blenders I've had have fallen short one way or another. Also very cool that the blades make for a healthier blend!
