Anankabango means two things: (1) It's a maiden name for a woman, just like other clan names for women, such as Anabanda, Anagama or as in the north, Nyandovi, Nyagondwe.. (2) It is figurative language meaning ananka ndi bango (she drowned/swept away along with the reeds). But I think in the song it refers to the first...Because the man is proposing to his loved one...This is a wonderful song...the poetry is amazing...Malawi fuko langa ukutha kuyimba kwambiri...
