  • "This is a diffuser"... Uh.. I'm pretty sure that's an absorption panel. Diffusers have a bunch of inset gaps in them to make the sound reflect rapidly inside, so by the time the sound shoots out of it to the other walls in the room, it's very very thinned out... Hence "diffused".

  • NOT!

  • Awesome...

  • i didnt learn anything from this... what a fail

  • not really giving full info you dirt bug!!!!!

  • "This is a diffuser."

    No, that's a wall.

  • Wow, it has walls and couch. That room is a bit too small for a good control room.

  • Ok I'm done with Expert Village. How is this a "how to"? How is this even a studio? You're wasting internet space with this shit!

  • so where do you plug the couch in? midi1?? what a load of

  • Right and to follow up on my comment on proper Near-field/mid-field placing. Not only do they have to make a perfect equilateral triangle, but the tweeters also need to be at ear level. If the speakers are over your ears, the speakers must be tilted down, so the tweeters are lining up with your ears. NEVER.. NEVER should the speakers be under your ear level, even if pitched up. You screw your frequency response that is picked up by your ears that way.

  • @Raindarsus and oops apparently I already said that 3 months ago lmao.. too many junk videos out there.

  • the back wall is not a diffuser its a wall lol.

diffusers are a wall with varied depth and length inserts. so the sound gets diffused or traped

  • @drummerguyhughes yep, obviously this is a sub par home project studio. Not a pro or semi pro recording/mixing studio. And I can only imagine what the techs actually knows about wave length, nulls and tip. Mixing and recording techniques in general.

  • Thanks for telling me about your walls and sofa. Can I know about the equipment now? Kthanks dickwads.

  • oh Expert Village u almost got me in this one, good one, so.... keep it up, we know one day Expert Village R going to make real experts videos with professionals guys talking... ,peace

  • mayb sum of these instructers arent that bad.....................mayb its because they cant explain sumthing so complex in 1 min THANKS TO EXPERT VILLAGE AND THEIR AMAZINGLY SHORT 1 MIN VIDEOS....so therefore we learn nothing

  • Not mentioning that the tweeters are supposed to be at ear level. If higher pitched down toward your ears.. never under your ears......

  • Guys.. I've watched most of your videos.. Advice. If you want to show people you are professional.. get a professional sound that doesn't have drop outs in it. There is no worst thing for Audio "Professionals" than having a bad quality sound in a video.

  • that doesnt look like a diffusor, it looks like a wall

  • How ironic. This video has terrible sound.

  • thanck you daniel

  • 2 words, "comb filtering".

I take it these vids are a piss take?

It's "studios" like these that go out for $100 a day and claim to be Pro studios. The clients then have to come to a real studio and fix what they did in places like this. Usually spending the same amount of money but using half the time.

    Not impressed.

  • This guy is ridiculous. Everybody knows that shit. Tell us something new about recording, and not about the position of your couch -.-

  • "expert" village.

  • ilove the monitors

  • looking at the way that room looks... it should sound like shit.... no bass trapping.. 2 huge subs under the monitors... couch at the back o f the room where the bass is way to loud... AND THAT DIFFUSER OMG.. a simple wall? WTF?....acoustics is hard dammit... can't do it by the naked eye... if only we could see sound waves... and btw.. that room looks like my grandma-s bedroom ... and oh.. SOUND DOES BOUNCE OFF and hits the same spots each and every cycle @ every freq.. expert village FAIL!!!

  • @infynit HAHAHA FUCKin Rights !!!!

  • @infynit hy it seems you have good knolege about those recording contruction for studio please give me all you v got ^pls materials design etc thanck gabriel

  • @soulessdelu it would depend on the room in which you want to build your studio

every room has its particular problems and there is no general way of treating every room. i would say the most important books you should read is MASTER HANDBOOK of ACOUSTICS buy F. Alton Everest and RECORDING STUDIOS (built it like the pros) by Ron Gervais (both can be purchased online i think and they are a very good investment for a sumary knowledge of what to do. you can start from there, Best regards, Daniel

  • i like the video ... no i like the sound of the video because i can`t see anything with this annoying text ... and the lenght of the video i also let`s call it "not so good"

  • what a retarded video! Guaranteed with anything 'expert'village promotes

  • This looks like ass.

  • I see the Monitors are about 6 inches of the front wall with no absorption behind them as far as I can see... Plus the control room looks smaller than 43 cubic feet also not ideal... And the poor quality audio in the video doesn't install confidence.

  • I think expertvillage needs to watch a video on how to make videos that don't suck ass.

  • it's not possible to explain one of the most sophisticated parts of physics in just two minutes... why do they try it over and over again?

  • Do you know how much all that cost in there?? A good price range!!!!

  • How are those even diffusers? If those are diffusers then I guess a 2 by 4 would also be a diffuser.....

  • @zachabend Anything that has an off-angle can be a diffuser. The ceiling segments were off by about 12 degrees, which is industry standard to break apart bass-traps and other frequency traps.

Again, most anything placed at an off-angle can be used, but yeah—they dont have enough to actually do much.

  • @NowOrNeverOfficial

thats technically called a deflector, not a diffuser. And they have nothing to do with bass traps

  • fuck u cockface we dont need to know the placement of a fucking couch

  • this is a tour of a studio, not a how to video. although i probably enjoyed this more than expert villages how to videos.

  • That was a waste of my minute

  • wow I had no idea that speakers sound better when your in front of them, Had no clue

  • it said on the news that it was the 5th year running ( youtube ) and that it would take you 1000 years to watch all of the videos.... well if you take all of these expert village videos out then it will dramaticaly drop to 1000 minuits !!!! god there are so many of them !!!

  • just starting

  • Jesus, I keep clicking on these fucking expert village videos. Haven't learnt a thing from them yet!!! I guess I can only blame myself for keep on clicking.

What a waste of space though...

  • Cunt cock suckers ! STOP uploading this fucking lame worthless shit. Check your comment section for god. sake

  • i use hs50m"s yamaha. thei are great quality and sounds good ideal for bedroom

  • No speakers are really ideal for a room unless the room is acoustically treated lol. Im sticking with mixing on headphones and referencing in studios for now

  • does anyone know of any cheaper but good studio monitors, like for a bedroom so not to big! :)

  • @Jimmmeeehhh i use a pair of yamaha hs50m's they sound good.

  • @Jimmmeeehhh Behringer MS Series aren't too bad. Also Samson 3a's are good too and aren't very expensive.

  • Idk. what I use are Mackie's MR5's. They're really good sounding, and only 150 bucks a piece. In that price range, they're probably your best bet.

  • genelec 8020

  • @Jimmmeeehhh

    m-audio bx6

    krk 6 inch

anything smaller than 6 is great for a small room.

large studio monitors 8" can have several troubles in such small areas

  • I've never seen a diffuser like that. But nice studio, keep going...

  • ...they are anything but experts...if you see a video made by expert village...dont bother watching it...

  • ive sent them a complaint

  • none of those are diffusers.

  • what if i had loads of rooms in my house? that is not what a profetional studio looks like. theres no vocal booth or anything i want a youtube video tht shows you how to make a real studio tht looks real and not just a home studio

  • just make it look professional and not janky and make it sound professional having a good booth is they key and your equipment

  • if this is a video about a recording facility shouldn't the sound be at least standard? This recording of his voice flutters around like crazy!

  • ok well im on a budjt so how much do theses defusers cost cus if its more than 20$ im just gona buy a crappy rug cus thats prity much what they are but i gess to theyre fucking clients, that wouldnt be esteticly plesing enough for them!! whiny basterds!!

  • And this is a cup... i use this to drink spoof..

  • you look like a fucking Q-Tip...

  • fuck this guy up his fucking ass. what a chump!

  • you are the chump by the looks of your so called rapping, a poor excuse for music

  • WTF!!!

  • lmao! this video is awesome! I have to share it with my friend he want to know how to make stupid pointless videos...... this is great, this is great.

  • This Guy doesnt have a clue, he's all geared to the way the place looks, then hes got the audacity to speak about attracting clients, Hi Highlighted the defuser on the back wall cause daddy said 'it better be worth what i payed for it'

  • What was the point in that video?

  • yeah yeah the diffussers...we know ! Teach us something we dont know...like how to build a studio!...FREAK!

  • Detail of defusser construction and dampening could be more useful, opposed to 'making the client comfortable'. How about explaining standing-waves and room freq response? Nice shirt and wallpaper!

  • yes, that helps me record music at home! right, i'll drag my couch upstairs and stick some reflective material on my walls- hows about some help with the recording equipment. tush!

  • Is this doode trying to do a Christopher Walken? XD

  • expert village sucks!!!!!!!

  • No shit, I fucking hate these people-everytime I think I find a video that will be helpful--whoops nope never mind it's done by "expert village" therefore absolutely WORTHLESS. With quotes like-"as you the the walls are...nice materials" I mean what the fuck man?

  • ME TOO!!!!! WTF!!! I thought it was just me! every time I think i found a video that I'm going to learn something I find expertvillage stupid pointless videos! all of them are worth sh!t

  • No. They are called clouds. They don't defuse anything.

  • some help u r.. . .

  • "as you can see, the walls are made of very nice materials"

i could totally tell that just by looking at it.

cuz that's the first thing i always notice when i walk into my friend's room. "OMG I LOVE YOUR WALLS!!"

  • lmao @ spijtig

  • blablabla productions

    babies get a life

  • damn terrible vid again you guys at expert village Suck big time ...

im out lost yourself a sub ....

  • but you have to have a big massive cool looking desk and really expensive microphones!!!

if they cost lots they must be good!!!

you must also like the smell of your own farts!!!

  • noob

  • i hate these 1 min videos

  • Also, that is not a diffuser, it is a deflector. Diffusers evenly scatter a sound wave, not redirect it

  • Your videos are bull shit! Your "studio room" is not pro and you should stop claiming you are an expert.

  • Oh, that's a good idea... put your unshielded PA monitors right next to the computer. Good thing the hard drive that has all your music on it is unaffected by magnets... oh, wait...

  • face for radio.

  • agreed. expert village is terrible. if you actually look up something that are educated about you realize that they don't really show you anything at all. i could have gotten that information about those diffusers from reading the side of the product box. show us something informative.

  • Is gay lol hauhauauahuha!

  • expert villiage fucking sucks, they have so many short shitty videos. why not put all of em together.

  • @tttooommm111222333 Maybe they have money to make a studio , but failed to upload a video with shareware software restricted to rip videos to 1minutes XD

  • @tttooommm111222333 Well, because some people are looking for one specific thing and don't want to sit through an hour of crap just to find out the info is not there.

  • @tttooommm111222333 because they are not trying to explain how to do things right. They are trying to promote themselves.

  • I truely hope that's not your control room.. really.. tell me it's not. 0:44 Your speakers are so spread out that you are completely destroying your stereo imaging. Don't you know that when mixing, your monitors must be exactly the same distance in between them that they are from your ears making an equilateral triangle?

  • @Raindarsus THANK FUCK someone knows what they are talking about! I have done exactly that most people dont even know about it i have looked at 30 videos and almost everyone is setup wrong

  • @tttooommm111222333 their tryin 2 cheat us out of our VIEWS

  • Theres no mixer

  • probably because it's not live sound. a lot of places have abandoned the mixer approach.

  • Not! you use the console in the DAW and you use the mouse.. ;)

CAn some one delete this channel..??

I think I'm gonna blog about this terrible channel full of nothing expert and how the misslead young people about recording studios.. WHY I say that? well see more of the videos hahaha!

  • thats all good but look at the placement of the nearfield monitors?

  • UGLY COUCH!!

  • its ok but its not really in dept. it could help if some one could tell me were i can find architectural drawing on how to design a studio

  • Nonsense...

  • Cool, I'm currently working on mine.

  • thanks

  • thanks for the video now i can make my new studio called "the lab"
