It's because in this game, if the person touches the base runner with the glove or ball or not, as long as the fielder has possession, if he touches the base runner, he's out. Pause it at 0:26, he touched him, doesn't matter with what in this game though.

that's true. i was looking at it trying to see if he was out and that (the hand) was the only part that looked out. he should have head first dived instead of the foot slide... or watever it's called
