  • what the heck do u get from to go to the moon, fix the problems here at home first

  • @MrFrisco1981 I know right? What have we ever gotten from exploring our surroundings? Oh wait...

  • @majjen still what do u get from to go to the moon? i didn't exprece that i was aginst our surroudning? i was talkinga bout going to the moon?

  • @MrFrisco1981 A couple of hundreds of years ago, crossing seas were extremely hard to do. It took life to do so, but we did it because we wanted to explore, find new things. Today, we've explored all the oceans, but we still want to explore, find new things in order to better understand ourselves and the world around us. The next stop will naturally be the moon and beyond. It's extremely hard for us to do so, and it have taken lives in the process... just like when we explored the seas.

  • @majjen the time u are talking about is the time were they needed resurs, here in sweden we call it the time of the empires. the time when Kennedy talked about to go to the moon, was somthing else. imo there is alot left to explore in this planet, but i have always found it verey strange that in the middle of the cold war he wants to go to the moon, i my opinoin this was somthing he talked about and they later made a fake video and showed the ppl in the USA that they went to the moon

  • @MrFrisco1981 just to be abelt to get away with the stuff that they were doing behinde the back of the ppl in the USA, they destracted the ppl in the usa to do stuff that in normal cases the ppl wouldn't agree with. so this moon thing was just a smart politcal trick

  • @MrFrisco1981 Here is a list of things that either owe their existence to the space race or inventions that got drastically improved due to the space race:Scheduling software, semiconductors, microchips, structural analysis software, air quality monitors, virtual reality, Advanced keyboards, Customer Service Software, Database Management System, Laser Surveying, Aircraft controls, Lightweight Compact Disc, Expert System Software, Microcomputers, Design Graphics, Microwave ovens

  • @majjen Continued: enriched baby food, scratch-resistant eyeglass lenses, water purification, portable solid-state coolers/warmers, sports training, athletic shoes, Dustbuster, shock-absorbing helmets, home security systems, smoke detectors, flat panel televisions, high-density batteries, trash compactors, food packaging and freeze-dried technology, cool sportswear, sports bras, hair styling appliances, fogless ski goggles, self-adjusting sunglasses, composite golf clubs, hang gliders,

  • @majjen more: art preservation, quartz crystal timing equipment, microspheres, weather forecasting, forest management, environmental control sensors, wind monitors, telemetry systems, plant research, Hydroponics, fire resistant materials, radiation insulation, Whale identification method, environmental analysis, noise abatement, pollution measuring devices, pollution control devices, smokestack monitor, radioactive leak detector, earthquake prediction system, sewage treatment,

  • @majjen energy saving air conditioning, air purification, digital imaging breast biopsy system, breast cancer detection, laser angioplasty, ultrasound skin-damage assesment, human tissue stimulator, cool suit, programmable heart pacemaker, ocular screening, automated urinalysis, medical gas analyzer, voice-controlled wheelchair, Arteriosclerosis detection, ultrasound scanners, automatic insulin pump, portable x-ray device, invisible braces, dental arch wire, palate surgery technology

  • I could go on for a couple of posts more, but I think you get the point. Those inventions has saved hundreds of thousands of lives, if not millions. Who knows what we will find if we keep pushing ourselves further and further?

  • @majjen ok thats the good stuff, but do u know the bad stuff? they proved that they could lunch a missile from one point of the world to hit anothere point of the world. the good things always are taken by ppl that wants to destroy the world. so all the stuff that is good u have 3 stuff that is bad for u, and thats my point a political trick to say that they were doing good but in the cover they were doing more bad things.

  • How dare they interrupt Kennedy while he's speaking -:(

  • this man was a genious!

  • @The6000Sabre you're right about that!

  • too bad we never got there

  • @BaronFeydRautha Idiot

  • @BaronFeydRautha retard, men went to the moon on seven different missions.

  • @BaronFeydRautha i have lost all faith in humanity

  • Why do ignorant, tactless people insist on using inappropriate language on forums like this?

I would like to share historic videos such as this with my kids but I can't forward them or leave them up on the screen because of all of the stupid foul-mouthed people that can't otherwise express themselves.

  • @The6000Sabre Oh, sure, he's no JFK cause he didn't send us to another, distant planet? Because he's got a mess made by Bush on his shoulders where as JFK was supported by rather stable economy?

I don't suck anybody's dick here, but I find comments like yours extremely ignorant, and worth calling out on.

  • @The6000Sabre How long did it take you to figure that out?

  • @amo1407 i think it means that we will do the other thing that other countries have not done before, go to the moon.

  • at 0:30, what "other thing"???

  • @amo1407 He says "the other things", plural; he had been talking about a lot of other things in the speech. The full speech is 18 minutes long, ou should watch it, it's worth the time!
