If you want one of these just google tandy lace maker.
I use this and have been using the same one for over ten years now. If I could afford to I would upgrade but as i braid very finely I have no need for a 100 dollar cutter capable of cutting 2 inch betl straps.
Misleading title... I came thinking it was about some kind of hold down to make braiding easier or something else on actual braiding. This craftsman is making leather LACE.
Also, that's the cheapest, lowest quality lace maker on the market and, while it is handy, there's nothing amazing about it. The tool referred to as an "Australian Strander" is a far superior lace making tool and only takes a little bit more skill to use.
These tools area awesome when they work as planned. Every once in a while the leather won't cooperate and it's hard to make a nice strap, but with good leather it's amazing. Great vid!
you can get that tool at any leather craft supply store -- ask for the lace cutter. I'm glad i found this -- i have one of those tools but could never figure out how to get it to work! Thanks!
I think the best thing is, to order a new one in the US. They can't be expensive.
When you go to the channel of Bernie46, he has a lot of good instructive video's, and when you contact him, he might put you in the right direction for a name of this tool and a suplier.

Thanks for the info. As I am dutch, I just try to be correct, but you are the first to mention that I am not.
As I had never seen this tool before, for me it was amazing.
I absolutely look forward to a video about the tool you mention.

@hackneysaregreat I don't speak/understand enough Dutch to follow what he is saying. would you be so kind as to provide a transcript in English?
I made a little video about the Australian Strander, the tool mentioned by clkwrkdragonfly above.

I apologize, as I am still struggling to figure out how to add captions to it.

Wow that's impressive, you could save a lot of money if you needed leather lace owning one of those tools. A good demonstration too!.

Because it's not clearly visible, is there anywhere I can find a simple drawing for this Tool. I would like to make one myself.
Thanks, regards.
