  • K SO what Are You doin Exactly ? my Ipod Lighting Aint working , Even if i Try to Restore it

and now im hearing That i have to Pay for it to get Fixed . Before i Do That can i try anything else

  • Try restoring it, some 3rd party apps may have caused that.

  • TALK..

  • same problem, please share for fix it.

  • my ipod kept turning really dim screen but when i was playing a game i always play it just switched off and nothing i do works can u plzzzzzzzzz help me

  • eh i thought backlight was like the light........i dropped my ipod in water so now it's all dark i can barely see anything.

  • Why are you pushing on the backlight. You" ll break the cable going to the logic board and it will mess it up permenently

  • @400sean did you watch the video and read the description, the unit was not apart and I was not touching the back-light, that's the touch-screen...which...you are supposed to touch. ;-)

  • i cant get the damn thing open all i can get is cracks!

  • how do you fix this???

  • *THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE OF CONSTANT AJUST TO BACKLIGHT,BRITTNESS

  • @kuntyfacedbitch this has nothing to do with the adjustment of the brightness, brightness does not go all the way to "OFF" and this is not cure-able by re-adjusting, this was a faulty device, likely due to a bad connection to the backlight.

  • @PEOPLE IF YOUR DESPERATE TO USE THE IPOD . when this is hapoening use on lowest backlight

  • @kuntyfacedbitch you're a life saver!

  • My 2g iPod touch does that but it stays dark plz resins if you know how to fix it

  • @GentINC mine does the same exact thing, and mines also 2g. Ahg, this sucks

  • I KNOW HOW TO FIX IT I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM THERE IS A LINE IN IT THAT IS BROKEN

CONTACT ME AT ( SEXKEM1@YAHOO.COM ) OR HIT ME UP ON FACEBOOK USER NAME : KEMRON KNIGHT

  • @pele8763 yo bro how do i fix it ?

  • for me the only problem is the backlight... i can perfectly use it but i cant see a @#$%^ thing. no touch problems at all

  • ok my friends ipod that im repairing has the same issue but his backlight is literally dead and i have bought a replacement screen for it and it still didnt work now im looking through the ipod guts to find out exactly where the backlight is built in and see where i can restart it and/or replace it

  • mine is like this but its alwaysss dark

  • @TheOsvaldo220 the backlight isn't in the screen, only the touch capabilities are there. The backlight is part of the underlying LCD, possible permanently attached to it, though I am not 100% certain.

  • @TheOsvaldo220 then turn up the brightness. :))

  • @WickedWeasleTM iff i turn it upp its still dark

  • i dropped mine in snow last week ad now it does this. But it occasionally turns on..then off. I put it in a bowl of rice

  • @MarkIVFilms Good job buddy :)

  • My ipod is stuck on really dim for my brightness setting.I can go to the setting and move it around but it just stays so dark i can not even see it. I have restored and idk the password to reset to factory so i havent tried that yet.

    Can anyone help?

  • @jokes159 if u want to restart the pass word u can connect ur ipod to itunes and i forgot all the details but if u hold button on the top left and the home button it reboots ur ipod but doing so would get rid of alll ur apps so if u got nothing to lose try it :D

  • my ipod touch dropped almost 1meter and backlight was gone (it was working but without backlight), I tried resetting to factory settings and draining the battery 1 day, and nothing, I ordered a new screen, I stopped using my ipod, (of course the battery discharged completly) when the new screen arrived (2 weeks later) before replace it, just for curiosity powered my ipod and after 1 min. of charge it turned on and backlight was working again!, so I don't needed to replace the screen!

  • @unamigo7 Thats good advice, usually, if there's anything wrong with my ipod, I let the batteries drain. Mine is jailbroken so it is prone to crash alot more than unjailbroken ones. I let it die and watch it revive :)

  • auto brightness!

  • @matt10matt10matt10 auto-brightness is not the issue. There's no way to turn off the back-light altogether, this was a defect.

  • Same exact problem with my 2g...except the backlight will not come back on at all.

  • @TheYoungTechnique same here

  • Use to have the same problem, some reason its back to normal and I dunno how.

  • did you find a fix to this?

  • @CMPSfilms the fix was to return it to Apple, they saw the issue and would not repair it, they just replaced it.

  • @cmiper :) its my friends ipod touch im trying to fix. he wants to try everything first before he has to replace it :D

  • @CMPSfilms ahh..I see. Well, I tried everything, but since it was still under warranty, I stopped short of cracking it open and trying to fix it internally. Good luck!

  • do u hav to pay

  • @MrElectrico15 did not have to pay as it was under Apple's 1 year warranty.

  • hey if anyone can help plzz!!! my iphone rings and eveything but the screen wnt show up...the light bright up not alot but it does, i jst bougt a new ldc screen for it and still not working..Plz HELP!!!! asap

  • that is where the backlight is, you putting pressure on it is turning it off

  • @CompletelyRandomDude teh backlight is behind the whole LCD, putting pressure here should not turn off the backlight, nor should pushing the home button as shown in the video, else it would happen to everyone.

  • I had to replace my old one with a new one, and it started out doing like that, just went off for a sec, but it kept getting worse, and eventually it stopped working, so i havent had backlight for months, i dont wanna send it bak to apple because i waited 4 months for this one and paid 140 dollars for a "repaired" ipod that doesnt work :/

  • oh my goodness thank u from the bottom of my heart its just... thanks

  • i was going to say it waas fake but then the backlite turned off

  • it happens because the cable of the multi touch screen it's at the bottom of the ipod in the same part at left front ipod screen its weird but you connect and deconnect the ipod screen when you tap there jajajajaja its so so weird

  • happend to me too Although i can fix it :[ FU APPLE :[

  • how do you fix it?

  • mine has alotta cracks in it but still works fine and hasnt done this since i updated it to 3.1.2 and it used to switch back to the normal brightness but now it just stays the same

  • i wish i could get a new one, i left mine in the rain for a week. surprisingly i didnt put it in rice and it still works, but the up volume button and turn off screen button do the same thing (turn the volume up all the way and turn the screen off) and theres no backlight. there was a backlight about a week after it started working again for about 30 seconds and then it was off again. =/

  • the solution dont push there then lolz

  • same problem... I guess I'll look up how to re-connect the video whatevers.. repair costs are EXPENSIVE!

  • whats the name of the case bro?? looks great awesome touch!!

  • its not you touching it turns it off since their are no touch sensors wear you are touching it i had the same problem and i upgraded the software to os 3.0 so after you do that send me a comment and tell me how it dose not work i have many other trouble shooting tips!!! Good Luck!!!

  • I know it's not a touch sensitive area, the only thing below the screen that serves any function is the button. This is also why upgrading the OS doesn't make sense, the area is a dead area.

The issue was hardware and internal, the unit has since been replaced with another "recert" which wound up having a stuck accelerometer. That one too has been replaced with a brand new one.

  • just dont touch the bottom area should help a little

  • @cmiper my accelerometer is also damaged. there must be a diode that's broken beneath the touch-sensitive area because i also experience the same issue as you.

  • DUde i had the same problem but i fix it, opening my iphone 3g, and RE-Conect the 3 video conectors!

    not too hard!

  • mines same problem but the backlight Won't come back when i restart it. please help

  • Contact Apple if it's under warranty...if not see what they charge for repair?

  • ok i read on the apple forms that it is best to take compressed air tank and blow the air into the usb area in order to clean out the inside

  • same problem

  • I sent the Apple product specialist a link to this video, he immediatly saw the issue and agreed it was a defect, the iPod is not being replaced. If you are still under warranty, I would suggest trying the same. Good luck!

  • alright still under warranty so i can fix
