my question is ive heard of people "floating" the gears...Is the clutch used at all in driving or just when braking/ getting going

@bluewolfy26 I only use the clutch to pull off in foreward or reverse...All other upshifts or downshifts and splits are done without it. Every time the clutch is engaged and released it is wearing out the frictions and the throw out bearing...So if you only use it when need be it will last many miles..

@lugger2010 You can...I can..... I just dont always....The load was moderate about grossing out 70,000 lbs and there is plenty of power not to have to split..Now with the 225 it grosses 90,000 lbs and you split it...This truck goes through the gears pretty quick..

Hahahaha...What the fuck are you doing with ur hand cowboy? You must be overly excited or something. I find it more convenient to leave it on the gear shift or slap it bak on the steeringwheel that way you don't look so squirrely if someone sees u

Anyone who put a dislike,or says you were enpty never drove a Truck.I worked for a County Hiway Dept.For 32 years.My last tandem plow truck full load sand,plow,wing,tailgate sander grossed out around 65,000 lbs.Pulling a tri axle trailer w a push axle on a 95 west.Star,D8n,

was about 148,000 w/permit.oh,400 3406 mech.13 spd,exhaust brake.On level ground,even that

pulled easily.So truck on.

@alex189100 I seem to recall it was 3.70:1 or 3.90:1... But if you do the calculation of the Overdrive and the RPM of 1700 @ 60MPH it comes out to 4.11:1....I think...Top load mack rears which is unique.

@copperheadmarine has the same head lights until 86. A friend of mine owns one with 400 cummins 13 spd & 3.70. Its a belly dump. I dont know how much are the camelback but i drove it one & with 20 meters of top soil its a bit shaky
