  • I do hope Qantas considers the 747-8 Intercontinental!

  • Back before Alan Joyce who makes everything he touches bad. JetStar before 2008, now Qantas.

  • Having flown the A380, I can say that I don't like it at all.You can barely see the ground from the extra deep windows and think of this...you're in the departure lounge with nearly a 1000 other passsengers. Never ever again.

  • and it turns out the future is strikes and lock downs, great commitment

  • Thumbs up for the A380.

  • The a380 looks like a sausage.

  • @drbackjack no it looks like a whale!

  • NO WAT ALL THIS FUCK BOEING AN FUCK AURBUS IT DONT MATTER ANY AS LONG AS THEY GET ME TO MY DESTINATION SAFELY IM HAPP AN MY FIRST AIRBUS PLANS WAS IN ARIZONA TO CALI AN TO BE TRUTHFULL IMMA ALWAYS LOVE MY AMERICAN MADE PLANES. BUT BOTH PLANES GETS U FROM POINT A TO POINT B

  • Qantas has 6 of 20 A380's which is the second largest order in the world also Qantas will acquire up to 100 new B787's with 50 in service by mid 2012 Qantas has also ordered 32 new B737-800's which will also arrive in mid 2012 with 6 of those planes servicing flights from AUS to NZ. At the moment Qantas has 190 aircraft in its fleet and when all orders are received they will have 339 aircraft =] Making it the 7th largest airline in the world !

  • @clazer29 dont forget they will be retirering many of those older shit heap heaps they have. so they wont actually have as many as you predict.

  • @clazer29 They wont have as many as you think there older planes with 15 to 20 years of use on them about ready to retire will be retired before 2012 as most airplanes are able to fly safely with 15 to 20 years depending on the conditions it flown in and how it was treated obviously if theres signs of stress to the plane at 15 years it'll be retired very soon. There for be taken apart and junked for scrap metal and be recycled to make new planes :).

  • @danielc365 Many planes older than 15 years are in operation, and many over 20 years too. They can operate over 30 years if maintained well, main reason why we dont see old planes so much around anymore is that they are not so fuel economical when compared to new planes.

  • i dont like Airbus..but i love A380 :D

  • Screw the A380. It´s completely useless. The only reason Quantas and many other airlines still have orders on the A380 when they in reality wanted to scrap the orders is that Airbus has dropped the price due to delivery and technical problems. Every A380 that rolls out is a huge lost for Airbus. The A380=the biggest mistake in aviation history, and the ugliest one.

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 Bullshit, no technical problems and delivery problems are small when compared to 787 delayliner.

Btw its Qantas, when stupid people learn to write it right?

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961 i agree with you but u gotta admit thou the cockpit is pretty decked out!

  • Air Canada orders 37 boeing 787 and no orders airbus a380 :(

  • @fatben5 that is good!

  • fuck the 787. A380 all the way!

  • HAHAHA They now got a diffeent livery so, its invalid now

  • I know it A380.. But it look like it huge.. It "BIG FAT" plane.. wow impressive.

  • A380 is nearly 3 times more expensive than B787.

It is a symbolization to have an A380 in your airline's fleet.

A great thing to show off.

  • Qantas is on my last choice of airline. Qatar Airways is my first choice and Virgin Atlantic my second. Qantas doesn't give a good service.

  • I get goosebumps just hearing the numerical combanation 7-8-7!!!

  • I wouldn't fly to australia on Qantas if you stuck a gun in my mouth. I'll fly delta to Sydney anyday. At least our maintenance is done in the States...not swayback Asia.

  • @bennett1985 Ewww no delta would be my second last choice Qantas the first, All maintenance is moving back to Australia. There is only 5% done overseas atm and that isnt on any trans pacific aircraft. Deltas boring.

  • Beautiful first officer

  • the pilot said "BOEING" on airbus factory?... ooohhhhhhhh...

  • @urashimakeitaro22 I think if Qantas is buying 20 of the A380's they can say whatever they want in the airbus factory. I dont think they're going to say "Fine, now you're not getting ANY A380's, how dare you say "Boeing"in our factory"

  • @urashimakeitaro22 u mean he said Boeing in an Airbus factory?

  • i flew on the airbus a 380 of qantas and i love it from head to toe.....g,day mate and have fun on that airbus....

  • Go Airbus, AMAZING AIRBUS

  • nyy545 airbus a350 xwb is coming, boeing is sinking in the ocean of airbus hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • OMG, this guy`s accent sucks!

it`s annoying, serious, bloody rubish accent mate!

  • Nice accent ;)

  • Go Boeing!

    A380s look fat and unelegant!

  • 20 Airbus A380's.

    65 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

    Enough said.

  • @nyy545 yeah, one is more expensive and luxurious and is incredibly comfortable. the others cheaper and meant for shorter trips hence buying more of them. seems simple enough.

  • @nyy545 Actually, it's only 40 of the 787, 15 (-8) and 25 (-9). As you can see, this video was uploaded FOUR years ago, and they did not know 787 was going to be delivered so late (still waiting)

  • @nyy545

they have bought more 787's because they serve the purpose of flying medium haul flights, not because the 787 is better than the a380. And a380s are used for long haul flights and each a380 carries more than 800 passengers. So buying more a380s than 787's is just plain stupid. So that is why Quantas had bought 65 787's, because they serve the purpose quantas needs..

  • @cookiecave1283 NO!!

FAT DUCK oh and uncomfortable too...

  • @cookiecave1283 lol 787 made in 70s

  • thts alot of dreamliners

  • If you think the A380 is original then think again. Look up the MD-12 it should look familiar...

  • uh they ordered 20?

on this book when i flew qantas it said they ordered 4 --_-???!

  • lols I think you read untill they have received 4

  • @emilyrichgal2 future purchases... currently Qantas has 5 A380s in the future they will have 20...

  • @ERAUPRCWA

So Qantas might get rid of some of their old 747's?

  • yes, they have retired 2 of their first 747-400s, purchased in 1990, the rest wont be retired until about 2013

  • I can't wait for Qantas to get the 787 Dreamliners! They really need to replace those ageing 767s!

  • I agree...flew on one on Friday from BNE to MEL and couldn't sleep the whole way...noisy engines an rickity all the way

  • @4duff5 I like the 767s... the 787 is nice but I always flew the 767 between Sydney and Adelaide when ever I traveled back to Oz from the US.

  • Nice video!

  • can I eat liver and onions or pork and beans on a Qantas flight?

  • If you bring your own. haha

  • in economy

  • I sense racism in you ahlanii...

  • Racist

  • You're a racist and an idiot!

  • Qantas only canceled 15 orders and wiped off order rights and options off their list. They're still buying 50 of them. The 787 is just too good 4 them to miss out on LOL

  • Yep. The dreamliners got canceled. They also seem to have problems with wing cracks during static tests but that's not why QANTAS canceled them.

  • Qantas did not cancel them

  • does qantas include on flight meals?

  • yes they do

  • aparently they cancel i think it was 12 dreamliners and put 19 on hold

  • u got that of the qantas channel so i will say it 4 u so they don't charge u

    (C) Qantas Airways LTD.

  • well buying a couple of A380's and 60 787's should be good for QANTAS. Their older fleet are all packing up and going to crash! Let's hope they keep the maintenance up on these new ones aye?

  • firstly, its great, not 'grate', and secondly, the plural of aircraft is aircraft, not aircrafts

  • Tell you what after the accident Emirates had at Melbourne I wouldn't be to sure

  • ACCIDENT????

  • The only thing i don't like about the A380 is that it looks fat and kinda ugly. Cant they build a plane with functionality and looks? For example, they should make it a little longer and put the cockpit on the second deck. That would make the nose look much better

  • And to think the Europeans made the best looking plane ever - Le concorde...

  • Concorde ftw

  • They could but the aerodynamics wouldn't work!

  • I actually think the aerodynamics would work fine. Drag is created with this design because the air can't pass by the nose smoothly with the cockpit on the first level.

  • im really sure that airbus wouldnt make an inferior aircraft just for the hell of it, everything that goes into the design of the plane has been done for a reason. you, just like me has had nothing to do with the design of the a380 so tus cant comment...

also the cockpit on the upper deck is a 747 thing, the a380 had to be different and awesomer:P

  • LOL,

    That is the worse plane.

Singapore Airlines or someone I forgot who, have canceled the rest of there orders, and the plane is so big, when it lands and takes off, the planes behind it have to circle for 10 minutes.

  • LOL -"Someone has cancelled their orders but I forgot who" - Well that very reliable information then!

And your 10 minutes claim is nonsense too.

As for Singapore Airlines, their CEO said that the A380 is performing better than they had expected and is a fantastic aeroplane.

  • Dont worry mate,

I am pretty sure you will see a comerical airline with a few less A380's in the sky.

My Mother has been a Flight Attendent of QANTAS for 26 years. Now I think after that time, you pick up a few things k?

    Just wait,

    It will be announced soon.

And to top it off, the A380 is the ugliest looking plane you could ever see.

And Obviously you have never been on the A330, probbly the worst plane I have been on in my life, the over head compartments shake like they CONTINUE NEXT POST

  • ghehe. Airbus sucks.

  • are being dropped off a cliff.

So stop going to videos and commenting about planes that you no nothing about.

You waste my time, your time and internet space.

  • Ummm actually I travel regualy on business, even quite a lot on Qantas. The 747 is far noiser and rattles much more than an A330.

As for the A380 it is the smoothest and quiestest plane I have ever flown on.

As for you, you come on here saying an airline has cancelled their 380 order and planes behind it have to circle for 10 minutes which are both untrue, and then you have the cheek to tell me I dont know what Im talking about!

    Your unbeliveable!

  • Do you fly the Domestic 747's (300's) because I fly the Sydney---Johannesburg route alot and it is by far better than the A330.

  • Agree, instead of canceling some companies ordered more A380's :D I was sure a380 will have a big impact, it's such a beautiful and smart plane, Boeing could never have something like that.

  • A380 is ugly and fat

  • agreed!

  • So completely wrong - Both Singapore & Qantas have INCREASED their intitlal orders after flight proving of the 1st A380 by converting their options into firm orders when they saw the plane "in the metal" and the flight tests exceeded performance expectations. I have seen it fly past in Sydney and it is the quietest plane ever. Also looks good in Qantas colours.

  • hilrush blame that to air bus

  • Umm...blame what to Airbus?

Total Qantas Boeing fleet - 114

Total Qantas Airbus fleet - 19

How do you blame "hilrush's" bad view of Qantas to Airbus?

  • I have flown QANTAS for years and they are just another junk airline and not the spirit of Oz as they claim. Aussie jobs sent off shore, crap cheap maintenance in Asia, planes falling apart, screwing their customers with the fuel surcharge - they are pitiful now and don't fall for their emotional garbage designed to make you part with your money. They do not care for Australia, just your money. Fly some other airline and see the difference.

  • I second that

  • Crap cheap maintenance in Asia? Are u really sure?

  • Really cool love that plane and the logo.

But poor Airbus you might think that there doing well selling all those a380s 787 777 ect.

But there not doing very well cause they have SO MANY orders. and its going to take long for them and there not doing well cause they have so many orders.

  • Actually, the 777's and 787's are BOEING not Airbus.

  • wtf cunt

    look at you,new zealand shit

  • hahahahahaha :)

  • you cant talk, you arnt any better new zealand ass. air new zealand have old ass planes. new zealand service is shit.

AIR NEW ZEALAND - WORST AIRLINE EVER!!!!

  • it's just part of our commitment of scaring you guys with those explosion and many accidents this year

  • I saw an A380 for the first time today coming out of London Heathrow! BIG, VERY BIG!!

  • @cjsluk I saw my first when waiting to board my plane in Sydney to go to Cairns

  • @cjsluk

i saw it in LA, it was behind a 737-800, it gave me the feeling like a goldfish was being hunted by an great white haha

...boeing ftw, this A380 is a nice plane, at least if the engines wouldn't fall of. haah fail.

  • @samm1551995 when did a boeings engines fall off. boeings engines don't blow up.

  • @yoyoyoyoshua just the day after the quantas a380 blew an engine, a quantas 747 also blew an engine. Nobody talks about the 747 cause nobody cares... but the a380 is a very mediatised airplane and attracts a lot of critics and fears

  • @alezlesbleus its not that no one cares its because the 747 has much more flight time than the A380 so people know its proven safe, while the A380 is near brand new, people will think its a manufacturing problem

  • holy crap the a380's a wopper i've seen it in a hanger and at the gate at kingsford smith international

  • Who's the pilot?! He's very cute.

  • his names mark something.. cant remember, though a bit of a faggot apperently

  • A pilot can't be gay!!!

    HE'LL KILL US ALL!!!

He'll try fly into a tunnel or some dirty shit!

  • Hahahaha - fly into a tunnel... A dirty, dark tunnel with no light at the end.

  • 787 ftw!@!

  • is he US Air Force going to buy the A380 to use as Air Force One. Because their 747 is getting very old now.

  • i dont think they'd be patronizing a european manufacturer for their own president's plane..

  • Thats a bony stupid dumb question.

    jk

but no, they are currently using a 747-200 as airforce 1 and if they need more room they can get a 747-8 or a -400

p.s. that 747-200 has the glass cockpit, most dont

  • It's not that glass. Only a few "glass" instruments. Most of them are the original 747-200 instruments.

  • yaknowattaimean

  • Ok boys listen to Speedbird he knows what he is talking from.Qantas choose the A330 because it is the most fuel efficient airliner until the 787 arrives whenver this will be. Now the A380 has the fuelefficency crown as it brings consoumption to 3.2litres per passanger/100km. 747 needs 4.2 l/passenger!! Also the A380 is now the best when it comes to CASM and neither the 777,748 or 787 or A350 will be able to compete against it in this matter.

  • A380 is the best!

  • Can't wait till they get their first a380 and 787 dreamliner.

  • The A380 is so overweight it can not fly more the 555 seats thats 300 less then they said it burns more fuel then any other aircraft with 555 seats only 4 are flying now and there all under 500 seats airbus said they would have 800 sold by Jan 2007 as of Jul 2008

it has sold 192..this plane will be a bigger failure then the concord, also they are building 2 a month not the 20 a month they said..in other words a complete failure, the

    boeing 787 has sold it's 950th plane..gee who won

  • The A380 is not competing against the 787. It is the A350 that will compete against the 787. And yes it can take 800 people but airline's have chosen not to cram people in it and go for comfort.

  • Now, boeing has selled more 787 -and it hasn't be finished- than airbus with their a380... Boeing is better always!

  • You show your total lack of aviation knowledge with that comment.

The A380 is not competing with the 787. The A350 is. And yes the 787 has sold more but the A350 is catching up fast.

And please tell me who was the first to put fly by wire on their aircraft which Boeing used for the 777 and the new 787. Yes Airbus!

  • better better but lost the contract with the US army for fuel tankers against.. guess who?

  • well i put this as a reply to something below; anyway for all proud boeing fans just think about that the american army had choose airbus for the fuel tanks replacement(the contract is huge the first order is around 300 - i dont know the exact numbers) and they have done this with quite huge political pressure, which means, that at least on this field, boeing proved to be total incompetent.

  • so now they don't trust the 747??

  • no...they just wanted something new.

  • 747 were/are the best plane made, better then this a380 crap

  • Well, everything has its season, 747 were the best and was a very pretty airplane but now is time to change but 787 is better than a380...

  • Qantas.... Yawn............

  • Qantas is one of the safest airline in the world!

  • one of the safest yes, but they've had so many problems this year (even though they still havent lost any of their aircraft)

hopefully they'll do a bit better with joyce

  • fuck ya they got the a380 to fly them into the future!

  • a380 suck

  • you can talk australia dont even have an aviation company. ur from australia and qantas are a load of shit, the service is shit, the baggage system is shit, the food is shit, the seating is shit. i could go on for hours!!!

  • Well,

    I just checked your profile,

you are 13 years old, and from the UK. So lets just say you like British Airways. Rite?

1.I am Pretty sure they stopped using the best passenger plane ever made. The Concord.

    2. Even with recent incidents, QANTAS Is still the safest Commerical Airliner In the Air K?

So before you go telling people about stuff you have no idea about next time, get your facts rite.

    :)

  • lol. I dont know y almost everyone mispell Qantas lol.

  • Its an acronym.

  • I am going buy ticket for flight Melb to LA for Oct 20 cant wait

  • A commitment to the all mighty dollar. :)

  • haha my dad was askin this guy what he got out of doing this add (dads a captain) and he got a free trip too paris

  • is this guy not a real pilot? i believe qantas dont have any a330s anymore any idea what they replaced them with?

  • yeah, he's a first officer on my dads aircraft, the 767, i thik his names mark or something. but now he's part of the

    a380 training team,

o and yes qantas still have a330's, they are still being delivered, they got a new 330-200 just last month

  • I got an interview with Quantas this 22nd. couldnt wait!!:D

  • great but you cant even spell the name correctly

QANTAS, it sais it in big black letters on the side of each of their aircraft

  • Does it really sais it ? ha ha ha !!!

  • really, Quantas? maybe you should check their spelling first liar

  • i think ur gona fail if u cant even spell qantas right

  • YEAHHH GO AUSSIE

  • Congrats Qantas! Get out there and get bigger than Delta-Northwest merge and still be the safest airline in the entire world! :D

  • nope because sooner or later delta-northwest will be hijacked or crash and qantas would like to remain the worlds safest airline with never one accident

  • Actually, I meant that Qantas be bigger than Delta-Northwest and still become the safest airline in the world (Qantas)! :p

  • ohh lol, good idea :)

  • Good! They're not buying the knock-off 787 A350's!

You can't really compare Boeing and Airbus so easily...

Boeing started in 1916, long before Airbus was thought of, the people who made Concorde decided to make Airbus, in 1970 and 2001(?).

Airbus's early planes tried to copy Boeing's 737 (A320 family) and 767 (A330), then took the double deck feature from the 747 for their A380(?).

  • Everybodies giving you negative feedback, but you are mostly correct when it comes to Airbus imitating boeing. They always have, and they always will. The only original thought they had was the A300, but then again Boeing followed that with the 767 which was loads better.

  • Also, if you think the A380 is an original Idea, research the MD-12. It should look familiar to the A380 lovers.

  • Also, look at the early designs for the 747, it also looks alot like the A380

  • Yep, just looked in to it, I am a boeing fan all the way.

  • i am a boeing fan all the way

  • Me too! I don't care for Airbus

  • That's a shame because Qantas do!

  • Stop talking crap! Geoff Dixon was appointed CEO of Qantas in 2001. Qantas announced they would order the A380 in 2000 when he was not even CEO.

I guess they only brought the A330 too because a Qantas pilot had a friend working for Airbus! - Unbelievable!

  • i am not talking about the blooud a380 i am talking about airbus in genral

  • You said Qantas only buy Airbus aircraft because the CEO's wife is french. I said Qantas decided to buy Airbus aircraft before Geoff Dixon was even the CEO which prove's you are wrong.

  • that is a typo, the first comment i said

"they do becuase the ceo be geof dixon"

it is ment to say "They buy them because the ceo BEFORE geof dixon"

  • Yep and then when Geoff Dixon became CEO he went and ordered more Airbus aircraft. The A330 and A380.

Im sorry, I have read many anti-airbus comment's on youtube but your claim that the ex-Qantas CEO only brought Airbus aircraft because his "french wife made him" is to be be quite honest - pathethtic!

  • The Qantas A380 wont look like that. The tail design is to be different.

  • You mean the legs will not be through the tail wing? I think that's what you mean, they made a new design with the Kangaroos legs going around the tail wing

  • What do you think of it? Ok? Ugly?

  • I reckon it's uglier at the same time better O_O

  • I kinda like it for some reason. Maybe its because its new. :)

    lol

  • Yeah xD. Sometimes new to me looks even gheyer

  • Qantas cabin crew sux!

  • Hell yea

  • rightio! they are so bad... they should commit in improving their respect for their paying passengers. but then... the asian crews from thailand are the total opposite.

  • yeah, I reckon asians are more better at cabin crew
