Last time I checked, Clay Bennett was losing millions of dollars by keeping the team in Seattle as long as he did. He spent several million on architect designs, along with site planning etc, and all of it was shot down by the government leaders (both city and state). If you go back and look, he DID put forth a great effort to make it work. But without a good arena, people weren't going to show much support. So he moved where he KNEW the support would be high... aka Oklahoma City.
