I'll watch your new one in a bit, but I just have to say here that I LOVE Megan Hilty. She is absolutely hilarious. Maybe not the best, but definitely the funniest Galinda in my opinion. And ps, WHO is Galinda at 0:26?? The one who BEGS to call her "Elphie."

So assuming that I just like them because they are "pop" is an understatement, because I like them because of their personalities, not singing....

1) she doesn't project enough

2) she steps all over the other actors' lines

3) her delivery of the lines seem rushed

4) her singing is hardly the best

believe me, i've seen almost every video of hers on youtube, as well as listened to the cd, and therefore am not making just a generalization but an educated guess from experience.

I thought she was horrible in her small part in "Enchanted," but she got praise for "Ask The Dust" (which I have not seen, so couldn't tell you.) I said, number one, I like her the most because of her sweet and fun personality, above all things.

@bookworm1138 There is nothing unique about it, you're right. But one can't help what he or she likes. I happen to like Idina for her personality first, singing second, and acting third. It has nothing to do with being in the "in" crowd, it has to do with personal preference, I suppose. I do get what you are saying, but in reality, you can't help what you like....or who you like. IF I had to chose a Wicked duo to see live, it would be Eden and Kendra, based on my personal preferences.....

I think you're in the minority for not liking Dianne. Her squeaky voice only lasted for about a month then it disappeared and she used her nice smoother voice instead. I love Dianne and she is definetely in my opinion one of the best Glindas there has ever been! I love Lucy Scherer as well - she's my favourite Glinda actually! Willemijn my favourite Elphaba, Lucy favourite Glinda, makes sense. I know she's German, but that doesn't stop her from being a brilliant actress!

That's a possibility. I've only see one performance...no, I take that back. Not even complete performance because I couldn't get passed her voice and singing. A couple of friends who saw her perform didn't like her either. We all have our favorites, definitely. A lot of people dislike Victoria Matlock and call her "Icky Vicky" (which I think is really mean) but I think she does well, so it's a matter of choice.

Ok, well. Thanks. I'm sorry if I sounded offensive, I didn't mean it. I was merely stating what my Ultimate Popular would include. And is she really called Galinda Arduenna? I was sure it was Galinda Upland, of the Upper Uplands. Perhaps they changed it for the British production.

in the book, she is "galinda arduenna", in the musical, she is "galinda upland"

imo, "arduenna" is "upland" in gilikinese, since galinda is from the country of gilikin in oz.

I read the book...had no recollection of that whatsoever. I knew she came from Gillikin Country. But I guess I read it before seeing the show so had sort of forgotten because I hated the book so much.

I didn't mind that, I just found it Dilly-Dallied about for 1000 pages with no real storyline. It was like '...and the Elephant Woman said to Elphaba "you are a Witch!" and so Elphaba said "yes I am" ' That was basically the content of the story. It was just very confused, badly written and just didn't have a lot to it.
