The country was still doing well when Heath was in power then when he left in 1974, Harold Wilson took over then sunny Jim Callaghan went into the office and look what happened there. It's enough to make me re-consider Ted Heath, who I have thought was a Macmillan Tory of principle but who had an early enthusiasm for Franco if memory serves.
