  • She does know that even under Bush less than 20% of the govt money went toward the military. This lady is on drugs how do you get "over 50%" out of less than 20%

  • I've debunked this before, but a guy named Lee does a more thorough job of it. Sear for "Story of Stuff, The Critique", and you'll get his video. About 99.99% of everything that she says in this video is either an outright lie, or a gross distortion of the truth made to manipulate how you feel about what she's talking about. It's indoctrination.

  • This is absurd! and i dont mean the corporations, I mean this stupid fucking video.

  • Yes, AMerica is evil!!!

  • Hey you fucking retards... everybody commenting here is an idiot. The lady in the video is the only smart person in this equation. You guys are fucking morons.

  • America is lost...

  • LOL I C RETARDS NOOBS LOLOLOLOL

  • liberals are just historical and economic illiterates. there is nothing else to say.

  • Wow, what a bunch of useless, nonsensical information. Is this an indoctrination? What a joke. Not to mention the extreme leftist bias here along with the non factual statements made all throughout. This video should be BANNED FROM SCHOOLS. What a crock!

  • @AroundSun - That's right - government of the people, by the people, and for the people - what a bunch of lefty nonsense! It is a crock - we all know that Corporations - who are now "people" according to the US Supreme Court - are really calling the shots. Isn't democracy wonderful?

  • @350orbust You know this whole thing is factually incorrect and has been exposed by several media organizations, including liberal ones, right?

You also have this liberal mindset that we live in a democracy! LOL> Democrats are such brain dead morons. The word democracy doesn't appear in the declaration of independence nor the constitution. NOWHERE! Democracy means MAJORITY RULE. This is a horrible form of government. We live in a republic. and Corporations aren't people you dumb twat.

  • @AroundSun - Name-calling aside, you're mistaken about Corporations not being people. The US Supreme Court, in its Citizens United ruling in January 2010, ruled that corporations are persons, entitled by the U.S. Constitution to buy elections and run our government. Google it.

  • @350orbust apparently you read nothing but leftist liberal rags online. why dont you really look into the case of citizens united vs fec and see what really happened, and why!

  • @AroundSun - apparently you get all your news from "Faux" news. The Supreme Court ruled that Corporations are persons. You can't argue with that.

  • @350orbust apparently you are too fucking dumb to realize that everything in this video is FACTUALLY INCORRECT. 50% of the budget to the military LMAO. That BS about the rain forests. This video was scrapped from schools for a reason. Even MSNBC and CNN brought this up so don't give me this fox news crap. not everyone is a dirty fake liberal

  • @AroundSun - nice - why does it always degenerate to name calling with you anti-science, Fox-news-loving nutters?

  • @350orbust like there is a difference between the two parties LMAO. what is with this fox news nonsense. It becomes the only thing you moron's talk about when pretending to be informed. I never mentioned the network yet you have brought it up twice. This is a sign of mental illness....

Anti-science! LMAO....just throw me in with the religious group as well, why not. You seem to only know how to stereotype

  • I'm glad to see that these comments are actually from educated people. Excellent.

  • I'm sorry, i was not referring to conservatives as jerks, mostly those who flippantly deny any sort of detriment our consumer culture has had on the environment. We live in a system that is defined by expansion for the sake of expansion and in this physical world where there is not infinite space to expand into, we will eventually run out of resources, and places to put our waste. Republicans are not jerks. Those who think we have a right to rape our planet are.

    I meant no undo offense

  • Do some real research guys. The only way one can draw their own conclusion is by investigating. You speak of the impressment of ideas on unsuspecting minds, but tell me where did you get this skepticism? Who told you it was "Liberal propaganda"?

  • So what you want is material that shows your kid all the good that we've done, without anything that admits that we might have screwed up here and there, because... we're all too immature to take responsibility for the damage we've caused? i honestly don't know all of you're reasoning and have yet to find anybody posting actual facts that dispute what she's telling us, so please enlighten me.

  • just so people know. this is a school promoted video. i know because my cousins kids are in middle-school and they said they've seen this crap vid. so lets get liberalism out of school and replace it with what HAS worked for the last 200 some-odd years. "Conservative thinking" A.K.A. allowing kids to think for themselves/teaching them the unbiased truth and let them draw their oun conclusions.

  • @Loveschuck87 I had no idea the enlightenment era, the industrial revolution, the founding fathers and the American Revolution, the abolition of slavery, the woman's rights movement, civil rights movement, or anything that bears a progressive label for it's time was considered conservative thinking? I do hate liberals and their "facts" though. Always trying to tell us we're wrong, like they care or something! Why can't we be jerks without them calling us out on it??

  • @ben3466431 i fail to see how we (conservative republicans) are jerks at all?! Not everyone agrees with policies passed by republicans, but thats just simple politics. Not being a jerk. Being a jerk is doing something wrong BECAUSE you know it's wrong and don't care what the people think. And don't allow them to give their opinion on the matter. Like Obama with his universal healthcare program which the suprim court just said was/is unconstitutional. FINALLY, they earn their paychecks!!!

  • so...are you saying you're anti-war. Because you certainly don't seem to like the idea that our tax dallors pay for the military. You know, so they can make a living to support their families while they're out fighting for my and YOUR freedoms full-time. You are the text book deffinition of a liberal. Which by the way is NOT a good thing.

  • you what i found out? i found out that we need to get liberals with their incredibly pesimistic views, out of the classroom, so that our kids are learning the unbiased truth about "stuff". NO MORE CURRUPTING YOUNG MINDS!!! Let them learn how to think for THEMSELVES. It's called "Conservative thinking".

  • fail

  • Liberal lies if I've ever seen them.

  • Wow... it really makes ya think:

could I get paid for 10 years with federal tax dollars from the same g'ovt that I'm trashing, by just sounding like a know-it-all liberal hippie when in fact I'm just stating transparent observations that anyone with an IQ higher than room temperature could have grasped in 5 minutes, too?

Ms. Leonard, if you'd rather go back to the way things were before this system: no TV, computers, vaccines, cars, etc be my guest.

  • @lstcloud

its not about going back to not having computers, etc...

its about limiting "over consumption, and not falling victim to the brainwashing of society to feel the need to get the newest of everything.

  • @ortizio05 well we don't need the newest of everything to be happy. But it's our right to pursue happiness. And when demand says go the govern't get moving because that's what keeps jobs in our economy and money in our pockets to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. She makes it seem like armageddon though. Which is why i don't like her or her video.

  • @lstcloud i like you. she is trully a know-it-all liberal hippie. you nailed it right on the head with that one!

  • Too many nasty negative comments on this great video. The vitriol speaks volumes.

  • Of course the government looks out for its citizens. The FDA, the CIA, the FBI, laws, military, The Constitution. It's all designed to protect the safety and freedom of the people that put that government in place.

The whole point of having the government oversee these things is that they're democratically elected and thus (in theory) can't be bought off like a privatized company could be.

  • wow this video is complete bs... 50% of our taxes arent going to the military.. in fact military spending is number two, behind medicare and medicaid. so please again.. since when was it a good thing for a government to run an economy? hint communism???? i argued with my teachers night and day about this stuff. and they finally told me to shut up. so they could indoctrinate their kids.

  • While I'm a big believer in the general message of this project, I'm concerned about statistical accuracy. If we fudge numbers to make a case, we are not making our case at all. Instead, we would be misleading.

More than 50% of our federal tax money goes to defense? Third Way has it at 20.2% What explains the difference? Was the number so much different in 2007 against the 2010 Third Way number?

  • The story of bullshit

  • You got the title wrong it should be

The Story of Stuff (2007) - Ch.1: Indoctrination

  • 265 people are terrified of parting with their stuff.

  • PEOPLE! Why are you talking about "indoctrination" of kids minds on a website where you can watch anything the hell you want! half of them are pissed about having to be 18 to view porn on here! Summary. If you want kids to be pure and think, DON'T LET THEM GO ON YOUTUBE!

  • @rctlover1 This video was shown to children in SCHOOL, dumbass. Tell me, were you born an idiot or did you have to work on it?

  • @david52875

i don't know? if i had the sense to make such a comment, who is the real idiot? i know it is shown in schools. what i was saying is post it on a more educational website! youtube is not the ideal learning site.

  • I have an education in economics and I've presented this to master's students to illustrate the effects of globalization on poverty. Why is is so bad to show this video to kids? Kids spend the rest of their time watching commercials. The rest of the world is competing for the future dollars of our young people, its a good idea to educate them about alternatives.

  • @rthomas08 you dont see whats wrong with this video.. yeah u must be a proffesor or something. some educator who has never worked in the real world a day in ur life.

  • This video is complete BS to anyone with an education in economics. I can't believe they show this stuff to kids.

  • i love the value of conversation being presented here by the "Comments"... it seems to have stimulated a lot of healthy communication between polarized beliefs... it is phun and thought provoking and should simply be inJOYed and shared... all of it, even the "critique" should be viewed... yes, imagine that, a Critique... that's what freedom is baby, the right to speak your mind and stimulate thought... i hope the "haters" free up some space around their heart and exhale... Be Love Now

  • this sounds like a Russian propaganda video

  • lying whore

  • It is not the governments job to take care of us....... You are what is wrong with America

  • A celebration of the ignorant left. Too many of these folks around for free human beings to survive. These people must be resisted and defeated whenever encountered - by whatever means necessary.

  • @vernonnorbert That's the kind of facism you hardly get to read these days! xD

  • same old propaganda repackaged.

  • You people are fucking retarded for listening to this bullshit

  • Wow, seems like weve been dicked around so much, that people are even suspicious of well intended hard work, and a personal opinion. There is NOTHING wrong with Annie Leonards' opinion, and work; Its her model of a reality. It may not be yours, but that how its goes. This lefty vs righty shit is just plain archaic, simplistic, divisive, and an extremely old way of viewing opinion.

  • wow "...I believe the government should of the people, by the people, for the people" and the very next sentence, "the government should look out for us. That's their job."

talk about brain dead ideological schlock!

  • uhm hello!!! for everyone posting about the school system. wakeup! its fucked up and its been fucked up for a while. dont believe shit you see in school, im a senior and i constantly debate my teachers and test their knowledge. im sick of all the things being listed as fact when they are not, you got these kids squishy brains just absorbing all this false information. im sick of it, when im older, if this government is still around it better watch out for me. not joking.

  • @ch4nc3who said "if this government is still around it better watch out for me. not joking."

Ok, you have been added to our list. Thanks for letting us know. It is so much easier for us when you warn us you are a threat right up front.

  • @ch4nc3who i assume you took AP US History then. no worries i did the same thing as u.

  • @ch4nc3who HAHAHAHAH!!

  • @ch4nc3who i'm with ya, but tell it to the liberals.

  • @ch4nc3who

or maybe its arrogant teens who think they know everything. 60% of the US's dropouts come from just 13% of the nations schools. Furthermore when poverty rates at schools are below 15% students there tested higher than anywhere in the world. When the poverty rates were 25 to 49.5% the students would still be ranked at 3rd in the world. Our education system just needs rounded out.

  • @CRErnst92 your statistics are inaccurate and improperly explained, none of what you said has any significance. and as an ex highschooler i can look back and know that i was smarter then half of the teachers, you can blame teachers unions that defend the dumb teachers so they don't get fired. just leads to a horrid schooling system.

  • @ch4nc3who I graduated the same class as you.... What kinda poverty rates would you say your school has? Those statistics are accurate and your rejection of them is ignoring facts because they disagree with your opinion. You cant just disregard information that you disagree with.

  • @CRErnst92 you say 60% of the us drop outs come from 13% of the us's schools. where the fuck does the other 40% come from? not the us? than why is it even impacting the statistic you either made it up or you just think you know and your dead wrong, you have no proof or sources for your statistics. i disagree with it because there is no fact and to not disregard it would make me incredibly gullible which you obviously are.

  • @ch4nc3who p.s. my state has the lowest poverty and unemployment rate in the nation and has the smallest dropout rate.

  • @ch4nc3who my point

  • @ch4nc3who Your intelligence is making me reconsider my opinion. 60 % of US dropouts come from just 13% of the nations schools. They are called "dropout factories" and there is around 2,000 of them in the nation. The other 40% of the nations dropouts would come from the remaining 77% of the schools. The source for that information was Robert Balfanz a professor for John Hopkins University.

  • @CRErnst92 i have herd of drop out factories, i did my Senior research paper on this exact topic. if you look further into the statistics you see certain races tend to do better in graduation rates, there are some states where Asians have 99% graduation rates and Caucasian has about 78% African Americans are around 68% Hispanics around 65%. its also surprising when you look at that the graduation rates for people born outside the u.s, they drop down to 40-50%

  • This is totally right!

Schools should be educating these stuff...

Not that teaching geography is wrong,

But these current events should be taught too.

  • propaganda thats been debunked

  • This is undoubtedly directed to little kids, scary stuff.

  • "THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATION SHOULD BE TO PRODUCE THOUGHT, NOT BELEIF." - Bertrand Russell

  • honest question: why would you want to take this video out of schools? Isn't it a good concept to teach?

  • @GuacamoleKun.............Socialism a good concept to teach!!.........even with glaring holes all over this video......I would willing to bet you have grown up in one of these schools!..........people from communist and fascist countries that have lived in this type of propaganda know what this piece of sh..t is! I weep because you don't!

  • @fullblastman I'm trying to understand. I believe there's a good reason, but I don't get it yet. Sorry I didn't grow up in a socialist country..?

  • she came from a hooka and will end up in a cardbored box

  • You can easily get these videos removed from your local schools curriculum like we have done in Florida. Go to your local school board and voice your opposition to the false information being presented. When we did this in Florida the school board asked what took us so long to act on this? They could not remove these videos from the curriculum until the parents spoke up, SPEAK UP!

  • Uh...the government's job is not to "...watch out for us, to take care of us." Maybe in the USSR but not in America.

Is it bad that corporations are bigger than governments? Again, let's use the USSR example, or a banana republic in Latin America where the government is many times bigger than corporations.

I mean, did anyone listen to this and just THINK for a moment?

  • @BuffMBA To answer your question, it is bad that corporations are bigger than governments for one main reason. A government's job is to ensure that every citizen can exercise their rights and freedoms, while a corporation's job is to make maximum profit. If you actually believe that corporations care about anything else than making money, you are sadly mistaken. So who do you prefer being in charge?

  • @simonb1997 Companies do not force me to buy their product. But the government forces me to buy the government's product (taxes.) At the heart of your argument is that people who work for companies are bad, since per your argument, they only want profit. But people who work for governments are better? So who do you prefer be in charge, you asked. My reply: THE PEOPLE! In a sustainable country, the majority will be non-government workers, i.e. people who work for companies, or are self employed.

  • Nobody sign up to the email alerts on this. It will spam you like hell. It will sell ur email to companies and u won't stop getting spam. Whatever you do, DONT SIGN UP!

  • Well, you'll either have gov't bowing to corporations or you have corporations bowing to bigger gov't. At least corporations make wealth as they employ people rather than draining wealth from economies as gov'ts do.

  • It is NOT the governments job to "take care of us". That's the talk of a socialist.

  • @shadowkitty1988 If that is the case then what the hell do we pay taxes for.

  • @badpanda84

The government should protect our rights (ie. rights specified in the constitution), and nothing more. They aren't our babysitters, and so they should not "take care of us" as though we are incapable of caring for ourselves.

  • @shadowkitty1988 Ok but that still dosent answer my questions. Why the hell do we pay taxes for. Surely it dosent could that much to protect our rights.

"and so they should not "take care of us" as though we are incapable of caring for ourselves."

Actually for some people they honestly aren't capable of caring for themselves

  • @badpanda84

Taxes help fund schools, they are used to pay for national defense, law enforcement, and interest on national debt. Taxes are also used for roads and social security to provide benefits for retired workers and the disabled.

I'm all for temporary welfare for those who lose their jobs, but too much welfare and government care can lead to dependency. Why work when someone is going to provide for you? There's no more incentive to work.

  • @shadowkitty1988 "Taxes are also used for roads and social security to provide benefits for retired workers and the disabled"

Ok which is what I assumed you meant went you said the goverment " takes care of us"

  • @badpanda84

    What? I'm sorry, I don't understand a word you're saying.

  • @shadowkitty1988 OK you said the it isnt the goverment job to take care of us.

However I would consider the goverment providing social security - building hospital and school etc. an example of how the goverment is taking care of us

  • @badpanda84

When the lady in the video says: "...the government should be of the people, for the people, by the people. It's the governments job to watch out for us, to take care of us. That's their job."

Yes, watching out for us (regulations, SS, using tax dollars to pay for roads, schools, etc...) is part of their job---but it's not their job to "take care of us", like they owe us---or we're entitled to be 'cared' for.

The government owes us nothing, and we owe the government nothing.

  • @shadowkitty1988 Of course were are entitled to be "cared" for - after all its our money the goverment is spending. ( assmuming you pay taxes)

  • @badpanda84

Yes, I pay taxes. I will not continue to debate you. I don't see why you bother continuing either, for no matter what anyone says, your view will not be altered (nor will mine). I'll just end with a quote, and this will be the last time I respond.

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them". - Thomas Jefferson

  • 10 years of work and this is what she came up with?

  • Wow, is she a crack baby or did she have a lobotomy? One of the two has to be true. Dumbasses like this don't come around everyday.

  • The name of this video should be "The story of Obama's redistribution of wealth through Marxism."

A Communst Propaganda video for Indoctrination.

  • @RenalJim if obama was marxist he would have tried to overturn the entire capitalist system u sub-human inbred... for communists there is no compromise.

And if you disagree with a redistribution of wealth from the 1% that own 90% of the nations wealth back to the people... well then you obviously have no dignity or respect for your fellow man and have been made a whore of Commercial Propaganda.

  • @PensiveIntent You said "And if you disagree with a redistribution of wealth from the 1% that own 90% of the nations wealth back to the people... well then you obviously have no dignity or respect for your fellow man ..."

I say: Do they own it or not. You said they own it. Your respect for people obviously ends where your desire for what they own begins.

If they stole it, let's arrest them. If they borrowed it, let's make them return it. But if they own it, let's respect their property rights.

  • @hildalgo1 Great point... but ask yourself something. If you stole a TV from someone's house... does it make it yours? Lets take into consideration that as much as the wealthiest 1% are rich, their wealth is incomparable to their power. When a company has so much money, that they can affect our political system through lobbying, monetary influence, and media; then they have created a political-economical monopoly and they are able to steal from the people over time... and steal it legally.

  • @PensiveIntent I could be prosecuted for stealing a TV. The US started with the idea of no taxation without representation. What is overlooked, but is worthy of consideration, is no representation without taxation. If rich people pay the majority of taxes, but are only allowed one actual vote (per), then their actual representation per unit taxation is disproportionately low compared to others who may be only voting for more wealth transfer to themselves. (continued)

  • @PensiveIntent Furthermore, people who derive income from a company are taxed, but they also get a vote. But a company pays taxes, and gets no vote. We could limit a company's representation to arbitrarily low levels by statute, but a taxable entity with no voice is a future rape victim.

If the people who on net drain the treasury outvote those who on net replenish the treasury, it will end us as a country, no matter what country. Everybody gets raped then.

  • @hildalgo1 You would not be prosecuted if you owned the legal system correct? I think you are severely underestimating the power that they have. For them, laws are merely words that can be erased or rewritten to their liking.

When it comes to voting, corporations are beyond "voting". They own candidates and market them so well that Americans believe they only have 2 choices: Red or Blue; both of which will serve the corporations if elected, because remember, the corporations own the media, who

  • @hildalgo1 own your way of thinking. The Federal Reserve (treasury is no longer a substantial institution in our economy) is privately owned. The private banks and corporations that own the Reserve have the power to inflate and deflate to their liking. Overtime it puts the people, as a whole, into debt; thus they are farming us.

  • @hildalgo1 This discussion can go on forever, so I will just leave you with a parting gift: look up Ron Paul and his policies.

You've never heard of him because he has been censored throughout his political career,

  • @hildalgo1 Who ever said haveing such a thing as 'property' was a good idea? XD+

(that idea es giving most of the world's population a hard time, can't be a good idea :P)

  • Marxist propaganda typical of the entitlement society that Obama is perpetuating.

This bullshit doesnt belong in Americas schools or anywhere else except a landfill.

  • Yes, let's have a socialist elite dictate to us on how we can live because they know better. That's worked soo well in the 20th Century.

  • we are made to believe we can't be happy without more and more stuff.....totally not true...

  • why the hell was this in my "recommended for you" section?

  • viva cuba !!!

    y el socialismo

    viva la revolucion

  • @juanpolar Yeah hows that working out for you guys?

  • Evil Neo Communist propaganda funded by George Soros. Every word of this video is a lie.

  • @Joisey100

    Fascist pig

  • No, it's basic common sense. Well certainly to those of previous generations. Things were made to last and were repaired when they broke down. Now they're not and are irreparable mostly.

  • @Joisey100 There is nothing evil about this ideas. They are just common sense. You would be saying the same thing if your neighbour would be spilling burnt cooking oil on your loan or your employees would be wasting your printing paper in a inconsiderate fashion. It is the same comment, but at a global level. There is no evil on thinking how human race and its planner will survive.

  • Come on Joisey think bigger than political ideologys, there are not only to ways of thinking. Forget about political systems this is about something more important

  • the funny thing is probably the excessive quest for stuff created youtube where the film is played and where the film maker is making a lot of cash telling the world why the excessive quest for stuff is bad...

  • We have to use what media we can to get the message out. You can't hire a town crier these days to call the message out in the high street.

  • @ComfortableLate Well, she could be trying to sell us an automatic toaster, so koodos for her, even if she makes money, because she is trying to makes us build a better world.

  • Recycle of die! literally

  • bleakreserve----it says it right on my copy of the constitution that i keep attached to sweaty ass body armor that ive been wearing for the last 6 years.

  • those of us Americans who hold true to conservative ideals. This country that i have been fighting for for the last 9 years, saddens me more and more everyday. It seems like this country is in a downward spiral as we focus more and more on what we can get for free. This is my peace and it is your freedom to agree or disagree with me. Just as you have the right to free speech i have the right to tell you to shut the fuck up and punch you in the mouth if i dont like.

  • @scubamurphahs07 are you for reals, where in the bill of rights does it entitle you to punch people in the mouth. Here's me exercising my 1st amendment right - STFU.

  • The government doesnt owe us rights, if they did then they would not be rights because the government would be able to take them away; a'la communist Russia. Its so great how all those free-love hippies who fought "the man" all those patchouli-scented years are now "the man". Now we have to listen to big government more than ever. It seems to me that as the years of this decade have passed; as i grow up more and more that the people losing their rights more than any other group of people are...

  • We wouldn't have the society we have now if it wasn't for the free love hippies. I doubt abortion, witchcraft and male homosexuality would have been legalised.

There's a huge difference between 'the man' now and 'the man' back in the sixties.

  • @lemsip Agreed. But unfortunately many hippies turned into yuppies : ( It is time to bring the spirit of change back.

  • It's the Baby Boomer Generation. At least Gen X stayed true to their ideals or didn't do as well as they hoped.

  • @scubamurphahs07 George Carlin said the same thing, except he callled "rights" privileges that government can take away. I would like to see a revolution that is run by the people, in other words an organized and intergrated social movement.

  • ....it may have been worthwhile to be with our families. But thanks to this "oh-so-awesome" baby boomer generation the so-called "greatest generation" spawned this generation that freeloaded off their parents; who knew the true meaning of sacrifice.Sacrifice that they learned by living through both the great depression and world war 2. Instead of respecting the values held by their parents they start this free-love generation chasing after "rights".

  • Don't just blame the baby boomer generation even though they might have started it. Actually it was their parents wanting the best for their children.

What about subsequent generations? They make the baby boomers look parsimonous by comparison and each one demands more and more.

  • isnt this the same stupid bitch who did the story of government video? Nonetheless, who the hell is this lady to tell me that working my job, no matter how many hours or years i slave away at it, is wrong? Truth is we hate our families because we are all fat americans and would rather work a job we hate for this "trivial stuff" as this dumb bitch says, then spend time with our pedantic mtv generation families.

Maybe when kids actually learned something from their parents say back in the 50s.....

  • use real arguments please

  • I have no problem with a movie like this being made and funded by Tides. I have a problem with it being shown in school to kids and presented as fact. Kids don't have to learn to think anymore. The education system's concept of intelligence has to do with the ability to regurgitate information - writing a test. Nobody is teaching these kids how to think and form their own opinion. They're being indoctrinated, and I don't care if it's from the Left or the Right. Indoctrination of kids is wrong.

  • @surfer53 Hey, at least it's better than the propaganda films they showed me in school "Communism and You" and "The Constant Nuclear Threat"

But this is actually a decent video, I've seen much worse. At least the superficial goal of this is to educate kids on how 'stuff' works, and they even mention how more than 50% of taxes and borrowed money goes to our Military.

Does the educational system at large contribute to loss of individualism and critical thought, damn straight.

  • @tftmc actuallly that is quite misleading went they say 50% of taxes goes to our miltary ( not sure about the US but in Australia) - - what else dose the federal goverment send its money on. Keep in mind that school and parks and ulitiies are all funded by state goverments

  • @surfer53 As a result, the definition of intelligence has turned into "how much trivia do you know"? That's all this video is.. trivia. It may be important, it may not, but thinking should still be part of the educational system. Also, opinios have no meaning if they're graded. With you all the way prime rider.

  • @surfer53 A government for the people and by the people. Too bad it's not like that now is it. I agree with you. Indoctrination is indoctrination no matter where it comes from!

  • @lpbmartialarts I'd be saying the same thing if it was the Republicans (ugh!) putting out a school video on the domino theory - that you can spread democracy to 1 or 2 countries by force and everyone else will fall in line. As soon as you present theories as fact, all you've done is replace one religion with another. You might as well make the kids read the Bible and pray every morning.

  • @surfer53 Republicans, democrats, liberals, conservatives; they're all part of a bigger picture. People who own the majority of resources and the "Democracy' they're trying to speard is an economic empire and the kids are the unfortunate bunch who are getting brain washed that big brother is looking out for them and the rest of the world!

  • @surfer53 what do you have against the Bible?.........have you ever read it?

  • @fullblastman I have nothing against the Bible. My point is that there'd be a ruckus if someone forced the kids to do that, but somehow teaching them a certain ideology as absolute fact is okay. Remember the 2004 election? Bush was hammered for allegedly using religion ("bigotry") to get out the vote. Now Social Justice is permeating churches and preachers are promoting the president's agenda from the pulpit and that's okay?

  • @surfer53 you r so retarded..........

  • @surfer53

you have a very valid point, but the point of this video is that THIS information is being missed on our curriculum. Out of sight Out of mind.

  • em..... its still linear....

    whats her point?

  • @chushui You said "em..... its still linear.... whats her point?"

You know, I didn't get it either, until I saw your question. Apparently you take an economic structure you don't like, draw it linear left to right, and rag on it. Then you draw a new picture, but in a circle this time, and brag on it. It's very simple, really. Some would say too simple. :' ) But hey, I am still trying to plug a new multi-core processor into an old ISA bus motherboard. It doesn't work, and I feel cheated.

  • If you enjoyed this be sure to see the vid entitled "The Most Important Video You Will Ever See."
