hey man i read all the comments and watched the whole video and the only thing i cant figure out is what kind of computer your using, does that matter?
I'm about to order some shirts to be made from a company. I think they are using this technique but the transfer feels so heavy on the shirt. The graphic area of the shirt feels so thick and looks very wrinkled after a wash. Feels like its extruding from the shirt a bit too much. Any idea why? Is the Vinyl too heavy?
@Section09 It is possible they are using an opaque digital heat transfer and not heat applied vinyl. It would be hard to tell without seeing it. There are many different types and brands of heat applied vinyl and some are more rigid than others. All sit "on top" of the shirt rather than in it like screen printing.
really cool --- ive been tempted to spend the money on a vinyl cutter, cuz we had one in shop but i thought i might not have much of use for it -- maybe ill rethink this
Do you need a special cutter to make t shirt or couldit be a regular vinyl cutter because I seen cutter with heat transfer wat does that mean please answer thank
Any vinyl cutter will have the capabilities to cut heat applied vinyl material. Heat applied vinyl is the material used in this video. There are also printer/cutters which have the ability to print heat transfer paper and cut it as well. The cutter in the video is a much more basic vinyl cutter.
There is printer/cutter combination equipment that uses an "optical eye" for precise cutting after printing. This would be what you would want. Shown in the video is only a cutter.
Yes. The cutter is cuts the vinyl material, but not the clear backing. This is what allows you to prepare the image. I suppose this could be done by hand, but it would be very time consuming.

How could you cut down a large sheet of vinyl into pieces for transfer? Could you just use scissors? Thanks

If I printed a colorful image from my printer, is there any way I can put it through the cutter for that perfect cut? If not, how will I do so???
Thanks

BJ4TJ 3 years ago
Yes you can. Layer the colors for multi-color images.

I would love to see you do a video with a relatively complex multi colour image. Pretty Please :~D

can you use iron instead of heat press machine?
rollyngstone 4 years ago
You could in theory, however, it would be difficult to get consistant heat and pressure and may experience durability issues over the long run.
