@coreymxz The dodge is the cheapest made, low quality piece of shit out there. My friend owned a 2009 Chev 3500 and he blew up the transfer case on it offroading. I have drove lots of new chevys, my dads company owns a couple 07's, two 09's and one 2010 and they have had problems and computer glitches with all of them. And they haven't even been pushed. The one 07 always locks itself on its own and locks you out, so you can never leave it running or roll the window down so you can get back in!!

Cummins and Duramax are both exclusive to Dodge and Chevrolet respectively. And no other Diesel companies make a diesel for consumer size vehicles that could meet the EMF standards. There is rumor that Ford may get a contract with Caterpillar in the future. If so, goodbye Dodge and Chevy diesel trade.

All the Navistar-powered models were problematic; why should anyone buy a 2011 from Ford when they've never built their own diesel engine before? Cummins has nearly a century of experience in the field; I'm willing to bet the 2012 Ram will outdo the numbers that both Ford and Chevy are now putting out.

Specially their diesel suck. I bought two brandnew ford diesel trucks and both broke down in the highway. 1 when it had 450 miles on it and the other with 11000 miles.
The more messed up part about it is that the ford dealers didn't want to fix it right away. I had to call the "Ford Motor Company" and complain about them not fixing it in order for them to fix my truck.
the trannys way better than allsion junk 1000, cant handle horsepower after time i seen a 2003 6.0L 385,000 original pulled hauled all the time tail gate was bent, box was all lumpy beastly truck. fords are the best.
@arispe04 GM has been 'tuning' their engine more and more since it came out. While internal mods have helped improve power, the proof is in tuners; every year they increase output, tuners add less and less power. Actually, it's almost the same output as a tuned 2002 duramax. So in short, while impressive for a stock truck, the duramax is far more capable than that.

Also, if the 2011 F-450 doesn't come with a Dana 120 rear axle instead of an 80...(10) lug "Big Rig" 19.5 Wheels...And steering linkage the size of a peterbuilt and Break Disc's the size of dinner plates (14.5") Then just drop the F-450 from the line up! The 2011 will make a great F-350 but F-450??? Not! And why is everyone so caught up in factory Diesel Hp and TQ numbers?
@Miketnsa overpaid would be a better term. Besides that, the 2011 450 is a lot less capable than a 2010. it isn't as beastly as the 2010 either, anymore. The only upsides above a 350 are well... I can't think of any.

You may not have yet but people are waking up and realizing the effect such vehicles can have on the environment, this is really Ford showing that they're paying attention, and engineering engines that outperform the competition while still exceeding these guidelines. Performance and economy can go hand and hand, Ford already shows this with the EcoBoost.

the real specs, ford super duty hp=390 torque=735 1600rpm so if you tape the gas your already have max power payload=16,000 Chevy hp=365 torque=660 rpm's chevy does not provide that payload= 15,900,both 1 tons get about the same mpg's.dodge has a 17,600 payload put lower specs and bad mpg. now i like chevy,ford and dodge but I HATE DURAMAX BECAUSE ITS JAPANESE IN A AMERICAN TRUCK,ford goes though so many engines because ford owns international,cummins.its the 6.7 Scorpion not powerstoke idiots
But Allison also makes a Manual Transmission and it really does not take much extra work to make it a 6 speed and they don't have to change the Badging.

Out of all the customers buying the diesels only 5-10% of them were manual. nobody really wanted them and it was costing GM more money to stop the line to put the manual transmissions in then they were selling. that's why they came up with the Allison 1000 with tap up tap down shift with manual tranny. 2 birds 1 stone.
I have owned both Ford and GM. As of 2010 GM has the best truck. This is just not my opinion but there are a few field test done with Ford, Dodge, and GM.
In the end they all are good trucks.
GM is rumored to have 425 hp and 760 lbs of torque. GM has an advantage over Ford in that they are using a tried and tested Duramax 6.6 with an Allison tranny. They have steadily increased the performance and reliability with this same 6.6.
Well the reason i like the ford 6.4 is because the trannys are holding with 300 horse spartan tuners. If the 6.7 tranny will hold up to a big tune i would chose it over the duramax
the only thing is GM doesn't build the duramax isuzu does were as ford is building there own and if you want to tell me im wrong about the duramax look it up.
Yes I am aware Isuzu builds the Duramax in partnership with GM. However, that does not negate the fact that the Duramax is a great motor. As of the new motor GM is doing it without Isuzu. Not that matters to me as long as it continues to be realiable. I currently have the LMM Duramax motor (2008) and I'm very satisfied.
the duramax is built in america, ohio to be exact...designed in unison with isuzu...do some more research before you make claims like that.
As for this new 6.7 I really hope it goes well, the ford truck itself is far nicer than anything dodge or chevy has come up with to date in my opinion, it just needs an engine that can hold its own in more than just a power aspect.
BTW I've had them all, so that's a non-biased opinion.
its not designed in unison its designed by isuzu I have done my research on them obviously some people haven't got the real facts but it doesn't matter. because im going to be staying away for the d-max since they cost a lot to keep around and running. chevy and dodge have taken a turn for the worse in the looks department I think dodge is the worst for looks. I have driven a few duramaxs and they just don't pull very well I think the powerstroke and cummins have what it takes.

I can tell you a million reasons why I would never drive a Chevrolet or a Dodge, and yes, I have drove many Chev and Dodge trucks. My dad's company's dump truck is a 1999 Ford F450 7.3L Turbo Diesel Dually. I had a full load of asphalt shingles in the back of it and I weighted in at the Landfills scale at double the trucks weight, and the weight barely effected the truck, and the rear wasn't sunk

@ke232323 Yeah but if you look around at craigslist/ebay... alot of those Fords go back up for sale... looked at craigslist for the entire chicagoland area... 50 or so miles west of lake michigan... lets see, maybe 1 or 2 GMC Diesels for sale, Chevy was the same, Dodge cummins, a few more for sale.. Type in Ford F250 and the number is higher than chevy/gmc/Dodge combined. HMM i wonder why all those trucks are being sold... if they were so good, why sell them if they are so good?

I'd rather drive my old Cummins Ram into the ground than take a risk on one of these. All the Navistar-powered models were problematic; why should anyone buy a 2011 from Ford when they've never built their own diesel engine before? Cummins has nearly a century of experience in the field; I'm willing to bet the 2012 Ram will outdo the numbers that both Ford and Chevy are now putting out.

@EatmyDust1311 hahaha oh yes i remember, since ford announced their 390/735 numbers, gm came out with 395/765, which sent ford (the diesel rookies) BACK to the drawing board to up their numbers becuse they're competing with gm. i don't blame them because of the wonderful reputation ford has for reliability (the 6.0 was awesome). start googling 6.7 powerstroke, and 6.7 powerstroke problems is one of the first things autocomplete comes up with. look into it, ford has more problems than anyone else

@ben38619 ford doesnt make lincoln trucks anymore, thier high end trucks are the harley, king ranch and ultra premium Platinum models. remember that the raptor package only costs 3k more than the fx4, so it is still competition for the z71. and all the cummins has is the name, its outdated now and underpowered. and recently, the f series did outsell both gmc and chevy lines combined

@24fordlover few? it's got a lot of bugs. and the lb7's didn't even have that many problems except the fuel system and everyone has had issues with bosch when they first started using it so that means nothing. the 6.0 was a piece of shit, the 6.4 was a piece of shit and the 6.7 is a piece of shit, just following the trend i guess. and if powerstrokes are so much better, i don't think they would be bragging about the 2 db of sound difference and the whole 4 horsepower they have on chevys

Specially their diesel suck. I bought two brandnew ford diesel trucks and both broke down in the highway. 1 when it had 450 miles on it and the other with 11000 miles.
The more messed up part about it is that the ford dealers didn't want to fix it right away. I had to call the "Ford Motor Company" and complain about them not fixing it in order for them to fix my truck.

@arispe04 GM has been 'tuning' their engine more and more since it came out. While internal mods have helped improve power, the proof is in tuners; every year they increase output, tuners add less and less power. Actually, it's almost the same output as a tuned 2002 duramax. So in short, while impressive for a stock truck, the duramax is far more capable than that.

Also, if the 2011 F-450 doesn't come with a Dana 120 rear axle instead of an 80...(10) lug "Big Rig" 19.5 Wheels...And steering linkage the size of a peterbuilt and Break Disc's the size of dinner plates (14.5") Then just drop the F-450 from the line up! The 2011 will make a great F-350 but F-450??? Not! And why is everyone so caught up in factory Diesel Hp and TQ numbers?

You may not have yet but people are waking up and realizing the effect such vehicles can have on the environment, this is really Ford showing that they're paying attention, and engineering engines that outperform the competition while still exceeding these guidelines. Performance and economy can go hand and hand, Ford already shows this with the EcoBoost.

@Miketnsa Well it's sorta an improvement over the 08+... I have an 06, but I can't get past those stupid dolphin eye headlights... I'd sooner buy a GMC, they look good. I'd never drive a Government Motors though. Just hope Ford does something with those stupid headlights.

the real specs, ford super duty hp=390 torque=735 1600rpm so if you tape the gas your already have max power payload=16,000 Chevy hp=365 torque=660 rpm's chevy does not provide that payload= 15,900,both 1 tons get about the same mpg's.dodge has a 17,600 payload put lower specs and bad mpg. now i like chevy,ford and dodge but I HATE DURAMAX BECAUSE ITS JAPANESE IN A AMERICAN TRUCK,ford goes though so many engines because ford owns international,cummins.its the 6.7 Scorpion not powerstoke idiots

Out of all the customers buying the diesels only 5-10% of them were manual. nobody really wanted them and it was costing GM more money to stop the line to put the manual transmissions in then they were selling. that's why they came up with the Allison 1000 with tap up tap down shift with manual tranny. 2 birds 1 stone.

I have owned both Ford and GM. As of 2010 GM has the best truck. This is just not my opinion but there are a few field test done with Ford, Dodge, and GM.
In the end they all are good trucks.
GM is rumored to have 425 hp and 760 lbs of torque. GM has an advantage over Ford in that they are using a tried and tested Duramax 6.6 with an Allison tranny. They have steadily increased the performance and reliability with this same 6.6.

Well the reason i like the ford 6.4 is because the trannys are holding with 300 horse spartan tuners. If the 6.7 tranny will hold up to a big tune i would chose it over the duramax

the only thing is GM doesn't build the duramax isuzu does were as ford is building there own and if you want to tell me im wrong about the duramax look it up.

Yes I am aware Isuzu builds the Duramax in partnership with GM. However, that does not negate the fact that the Duramax is a great motor. As of the new motor GM is doing it without Isuzu. Not that matters to me as long as it continues to be realiable. I currently have the LMM Duramax motor (2008) and I'm very satisfied.

the duramax is built in america, ohio to be exact...designed in unison with isuzu...do some more research before you make claims like that.
As for this new 6.7 I really hope it goes well, the ford truck itself is far nicer than anything dodge or chevy has come up with to date in my opinion, it just needs an engine that can hold its own in more than just a power aspect.
BTW I've had them all, so that's a non-biased opinion.

its not designed in unison its designed by isuzu I have done my research on them obviously some people haven't got the real facts but it doesn't matter. because im going to be staying away for the d-max since they cost a lot to keep around and running. chevy and dodge have taken a turn for the worse in the looks department I think dodge is the worst for looks. I have driven a few duramaxs and they just don't pull very well I think the powerstroke and cummins have what it takes.
