SOR is one of the first asian movies I ever witnessed. The characters each had their own (stereotypical) background story, features and characteristics. Aside from the leading characters the rest of the cast had less relevance in the storyline (the life of the inmates was meaningless to the warden so he didn't really care if they got murdered by 'The Gang of Four"). The main focus is on Siu-Wong Fan, not an outstanding actor but suitable to play the Ricky persona IMO. (500 char limit)
