My fiance' and I did this back in August 2008; each selecting one pearl, then going in halfsies on a 3rd....
Each of our individual pearls were 6.5mm, and our 3rd pearl was a 7.5mm 'monster' that prompted the Pearl lady to show it off to everyone while banging on the drum in celebration; the 'monster' was mounted onto a ring shortly after we arrived home, effectively doubling their combined value! :D
