@Hiomie their teacher vow to train assassins to preist tenkai.. so he train 12 young children to become deadly assassins.. as a teacher of these assassins he wants to teach and as well to know his students that in the world they live in.. you have to be strong and as assassin you have to be focused on your goal. they have to give up their emotion or mutual feelings to others as to their main purpose why they train is to kill all the leaders who oppose tokugawa and bring peace to japan.
I still don't see how they would care about the guy. If their not suppose to have emoion and be strong then why should they make an exception for the old man? I wish i understood but i don't.
And what makes the Tokugawa clan better then the rest? For all we know that clan could end up being just as bad as the others once they gain power. I'm not trying to put down the movie or anything, i just find there are a lot of things that don't make sence.

I liked it a lot but i just don't get why Azumi or any of the others would give two cents about the guy who basicaly took away their childhood not to mention what he made them do. I get that in a way the old man saved them and he is just trying to bring peace but still.. Maybe someone here can explain it to me..
