  • Legendary guitar solo!

  • Akira is one hell of a Genius.

  • This video reminds me a lot of the movie Begotten. Really dark and nasty. Anyways, this is probably one of my favourite songs of all time. I listen to it everyday, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn has a holy voice...

  • Brothers fans of Silent Hill, this song is awesome... VIVA SILENTEN HILL!!!

  • this song make me cry

    but i love it

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC

  • if you listen closely to the lyrics, you realize this track is about cocaine addiction

  • @Shoe3003 In my opinion, it's just the way you perceive it. I personally believe the song is about Joseph Schreiber (the previous attendant in room 302).

  • @Shoe3003 Or White Claudia addiction

  • @xboxboy93941 Though that would work as lyrical content, there is no mention of White Claudia in Silent Hill 4.

  • @ChinoMoreno4life I think it's safe to assume it's what Jasper Gein was on.

  • Hey man, you wanna change that vid description? It wasn't made by Konami, it was made by Akira Yamaoka.

  • @WinterSoilder ...who works for Konami

  • @xboxboy93941 He still wrote it and played all the insturments on it tho. I'm not trying to be anal or anything, I'm just saying. And he doesn't work for Konami anymore.

  • @ WinterSoldier

he was with Konami when this game was released

  • @WinterSoilder The music video was him, and that what the description is talking about...hell the artist credit even says Akira

  • Some people just don't get it. Music is supposed to make you feel things. Whether you feel excited, sad, afraid, disturbed, or happy. Some people cry when they hear some kinds of music because of its beauty or it reminds them of something.

If anybody thinks this is untrue, they are kidding themselves and hiding from their emotions.

  • @Shadowbonez It depends on the person how emotional a song can make them. Personally I never felt the need to cry when listening to a song that really touched me, but I'll sometimes get goosebumps, chills, warmth, or even a lump in my throat if I'm listening to something and in a particular mood.

  • @deathwing107 That is very true. Some songs effect people one way, but effect another person in some way different. I love it when I get goosebumps when listening to something. I'm glad you recognize how you feel when you listen to music.

It doesn't always matter what it is, only that you feel something when you hear it.

  • @Shadowbonez

Your's sounds like a case of bipolar disorder.

  • @ekszentrik I have a slight case of that (among other things). I guess I was a little charged when I wrote my other comment.

  • Oddly enough, Joseph is my favourite character of SH4. The premise of how he was the former occupant of Room 302 and, more or less, Henry's guide throughout the game is very awesome.

This song is, obviously, dedicated to Joseph and talks about his struggle before succumbing to The Room. Makes me wonder if this "sweet sugar" is referencing Joseph using drugs to cope with the ordeal, such as White Claudia or Cocaine.

  • Why are people hating on other people's comments? If you truly and sincerely feel something while listening to this music, then kudos to you but for others to run their mouth because people apparently "pretending to be deep and emotional when they're not" I mean WTF? Grow up! Don't complain about it on here because that only makes you as bad as the people who are "being fake". You idjits....

  • konami should make movie about joseph schreiber than make movie about heather mason.. coz joseph never being played in the SH game..

  • Chuffin' glorious

  • 1:58 to 2:13 is my phone's ringtone!

♪Not again, not again, not agaaain!

    This dream, I can't awake

What is real, what is real, what is reaaaal?

It's getting hard for me to take♪

  • As a song writer I have to say these lyrics are so aamazing and play on the subject of the game so well. It is clear they had played the game then made the song.

    'Broken door no longer opens'

  • Hold me for not saying any game spoilers... Not even Resident Evil scared me as much as SH. I just had the chance to finish the first and the fourth, and it was a blast for me, the child crying at the bathroom on the 1st, and the final cutscenes on fourth... Those were amazing.

  • I damn love this song, and this game is such a great experience. And i totally agree with @renatalorbiesky, RE games got their scary moments, but SH got more memorable moments, I just cnt take out of my head alot of moments of SH1-4, they are amazing!

  • Gosh, I hope this video doesn't get deleted, too!

Why does Sony have to be so fucking uncool about all this?!

  • @rainethesage

yeah i cant watch half the silent hill soundtrack vids they are all blocked in my country aparently

  • This song is perfect ^^

  • sooo, Joseph is the victim in the room ?

i'm sorry my english is bad

  • @wakeupxhate Yep, he was the victim. He lived in the apartment before the Main Character, Henry.

  • God, i miss the time I was playing SH alone in the darkness of my little room. It was creepy. It's the best video game experience ever !

And the music is full of emotions !

There's no words to describe SH universe. Thank's to the Konami team wich creat these games and thank you Akira !

  • Oh...one other thing... Walter really scared me at the beginning, with all those gruesome victims. But when we fight him...he's just a dumb retarded who dosent know how to shoot a gun and keeps spining around. I hope he dosent read this comment and try to kill me, but if he does, ill just spin around and dodge he's atacks ( pfff...)

  • This game would be perfect if the ghosts were killable, i mean you shoot them and at the 3rd fall they shoud've stay down, then when we come back in the area they could be up again. But those damn things dont stay down, only with the holy sword...And the clips collected added into just one. I guess they wanted to make that way so the game would be more hard, or unique. But if you dont mind those things, this game is, with no doubt, one of the most memorable experience you ever had.

  • tiene mucho tinte psicologico esta cancion.

  • Oh the sweet sugar saves me....

it's the room that confines me......

    =3

  • silent hill 4 is by far one of the most underrated games ever, seriously, whining because of the lack of fog and a flashlight?

  • I'm not sure why this game recieved such bad reviews. Honestly.

It gave everything that a silent hiil fan could want and it didn't get as much interference with the feeling as homecoming did. Personally i enjoyed it. Going through the first time i was persuaded not to like it by the reviews but playing through again i realized how truly awesome the game really was.

True you never REALLY went into silent hill and that was in my opinion the BIGGEST flaw but it is, admittedly, a small flaw.

  • @larhonda41 kinda sorta... you do enter the woods surrounding Silent Hill (which is where you start in Silent Hill 2), but that's pretty much it though.

  • @TaurusType

Precisely what i said...with different words...

  • Many people say not to like silent hill 4 since it wus really different from past games but you have to admit it has one of the most kick ass trailers.

  • @DerealizationX I feel the story was really good, still. It's actually a pretty powerful story and at the same time different for a silent hill story. If the gameplay was worked on people would have liked it better.

Contrary to this, Silent Hill Homecoming I feel had the best gameplay in the series... but probably the 2nd weakest story in the series... with Shattered Memories last although I haven't played it... if you can consider it one.

  • @deathwing107 I only say this about Shattered Memories because it's nothing more than a Re-imagining of the 1st game... with no guns or weapons from what I've seen.

  • @deathwing107 I'm sure somebody else has already said this... but you're actually more than a little off on that. Shattered Memories is a distinctly different game, and it happens to be one of my favorites (after 2, then 3). It might not be "Silent Hill"-wise the same, but... let's just say it was fantastically done and more than a little impressive for me.

Having played it five times now, I'd place it above at least Silent Hill 1 storywise, and possibly SH4 too. :P

  • @deathwing107

    Storyline Silent Hill 2 wins

    Gameplay Silent Hill 3 wins

    Soundtrack SH3/SH4 its a draw

Silent Hill 4 didnt feel atall like a Silent Hill game it was still good but was very different and should of just been called The Room

  • @Yungnuty I think Silent Hill 4 had a strong story, but the gameplay was very flawed. Originally it wasn't supposed to be a Silent Hill game. I forget the reason for why they decided to add it as part of the series. I could guess it was because they felt the game wouldn't sell on its own, and since it was horror-based anyway, they made a few changes to the story to make it part of the Silent Hill series.

  • @deathwing107

I believe the Silent hill team did a great job that the game made SH4 connect to Silent hill. In my opinion, i think it has more connection to Silent hill/Order than SH2. :>

  • @Yungnuty well in ways, it's still keeps to the Silent Hill tradition, but almost too innovatively:

-the ghosts replace normal monsters; areas that would be filled with monsters usually sport two or three ghosts, which cannot be killed (which is equivalent to an area with lots of monsters)

-the radio is replaced with the headaches (excepts vs. the actual monsters)

-the otherworld is replaced with the different worlds you can visit via the holes (this could definitely be debatable).

    -etc.

  • yep when silent hill was given to the Americans the series died

  • erm tht was creepy 4 a music vid

  • @fozzy2k8 Well, it was made for Silent Hill so I would hope so.

  • SH is the first game to mix psychologic horror along with an atmosphere of melancholy, all bows to Akira Yamaoka!

  • This is neat music but the video is weird.

  • fuck me... 4:12 , the Cynthia Mannequin was the only thing in the SH series to make me jump out my seat and scream "fuck!"

  • @TaurusType and despite all the info on the game, we never know why the hell was there a mannequin with cynthia's form, that makes it way more creepy

  • it's sad that team silent won't make any SH anymore.

i still remember how great SH was when it's made by team silent.

Is it just my crazy thought? :

Akira leaves Konami after SHSM, i mean after Japanese left the project and gave it to Climax Group and then they made Homecoming. Well, if i were him i would be sad too cuz they really fucked up this game and everything team silent made.

  • @Wheeloffate I don't know about Shattered Memories, but I did like Homecoming but for different reasons than the previous games. It actually offered a challenge and the gameplay mechanics were the best in the series. What it sacrificed was the plot. It wasn't bad, but not up to Silent Hill standards.

I think we may be seeing the end of the series soon, especially if Akira Yamaoka leaves/has left.

  • @deathwing107 So why did you like Homecoming?

  • @Wheeloffate acutally I read there shud b 1comin this year and if not, then in the future

  • @Wheeloffate I know this is late... but Mr. Yamaoka actually praised the American teams for different with the series. Hence why he left, he hated the fact that japanese companies weren't being new and innovative with their games. He's since joined an American company and is helping with the development of a new horror title.

  • I find it funny that in some shots you can see Henry's health bar. :P

  • Fast cuts much? ;p

  • el juego esta bien chingon y me da miedo

  • melancholy. i love this music soo much V.V

  • really the best

  • SH4 may have not been a good game but if theres one thing it did have, it was the music. Story wasnt bad but those two reasons alone make the entire SH series worth playing

  • it is truly amazing

  • This song makes me feel all kinds of emotions when I'm playing it on my guitar.

    It's so... simple... yet not.

A very moody piece of art this is.

I dare say I love this song more than You're Not Here from Silent Hill 3.

  • Firt time I've watched the offical video for this song. Both are awesome.

  • That was a great solo nearly put me to sleep...

  • I love Akira Yamaoka. He is a god among music gods. His music is so mysterious and I literally cry whenever I hear his work :)

  • @bobbyaaron17 God among music Gods? Isn't that a little much? I'm sure you haven't listen to all the others when you said that.

  • @bobbyaaron17 NO. YOU DON'T LITERALLY CRY WHEN YOU HEAR HIS WORK, YOU FUCKING MORON. STOP TRYING TO BE DEEP AND EMOTIONAL, BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT.

HOLY FUCK I'M SO SICK OF PEOPLE LYING ABOUT THEMSELVES CRYING ON THE INTERNET.

  • @FlyingFuckstorm Do me a favor, will you? Go fuck yourself :) Now have a nice day

  • @bobbyaaron17 I'm entirely correct, though. Jump off a bridge.

  • @FlyingFuckstorm FINALLY someone said it.

    THANK YOU, SIR!

  • GREAT Job!!!!

    i love it!

    that song is awesome!!!! 8DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Esse foi o ultimo melhor SH, esse jogo é excelente e com uma trama muito bem feita, não deve nada aos anteriores.

  • solo is great

  • Amazing song, very rewarding to play such a beautiful piece of music if you're a musician (no offense intended to any non-musicians viewing)

  • brasileiro em todo lugar uhasuhas.

the room is diferent then other but its cool too, and this music is so...i dont know what say.

  • Joseph Schreiber in this vid

  • Great video. Pretty artistic.

IMO, The song has the one of the greatest and most soulful solo of all time.

    Thanks for the upload.

    Hail Akira!!!!!!

  • I really like this song, but from this soundtrack i prefer Cradel of Forest (this is my No. 2 of this soundtrack).

I recomend you the Homecoming Soundtrack, is the best in my opinon.

  • Wow, really atmospheric.

  • o silent hill 1 e o melhor esse e o pior silent hill dos 5 mas a musica e boa

this is the worst silent hill of the five the best is the first but i love the soundtrack

  • henry para mim melhor silent hill e melhor na minha opinao nao tenho para ser de horror e melhor fora as musicas sao lokas demais blz

  • henry este video e loko de mais curto muito jogo e as musica para mim e melhor jogo de terror blz

  • great song, and sh4 is way scarier than last 3 series of sh

  • I wouldn't call it "way scarier", but it was darker then SH2. You can not remove the originality of Silent Hill 1, and the storyline of 2 and 3.

  • Actually, in Silent Hill 1 and 2, the scare was more on a deeper, psychological... more disturbing level. However, 3, 4, and 5 took a more direct approach.

As for Origins, I never played it, but from what I've seen it's in the middle.

  • i loved silent hill 4 ^^ even though its not like the other silent hil games, but oh well, as long as its silent hill its all good

  • This song was the reason I even bought the soundtrack, but was disappointed to find out that I cannot seem to find the softer version that is on the game anywhere. I still love this version though.

  • amazing how a hand over a table tells so much

  • beautiful song

  • man that god damn solo issss sooo gooood and badasss. I've heard elizabeth's past work and its nothing compared to when she sings in Akira's band. Her voice and the way she sings it is soo melodic and full of emotions.

  • Word brother.

  • and you forgot something els. Its just down right beautiful perfect soothing and there's no room for improvement for it =)

  • totally agreed. Pure epicness!

  • I fucking love this game! Akira FTW! This dude knows how to make music XD

  • Awesome music.

  • Akira Yamaoka is a man...

  • and panic at the disco are girls

  • this reflects everything than i am now chost a phantom for the only one i love

  • increible!! me encanta! ^^

  • Awesomeness

  • great video^^
