My grandfather told me when he served in the Navy during the korea war the navy SEALS would play war games with them. The entire ship would be put on full alert while the SEALS tried to sneak on board. They got onto the ship without alerting a single person sneaked through it and waited at the mess hall untill someone finally found them. Not a single person on the ship ever discovered how they did it.

@YourSelf187 well..i'm no expert, but wouldn't HAHO defeat the purpose of them coming in from the sky..if everyone can see you coming down..theyll know you are here/will gun you down.
@thepanda55 well not necessarily think about it the reason it is has HA at the beginning is high altitude. The jumpers jump in from above radar so they dont know your there then your chute opens where noone can hear you so you really are undetectable. At a low altitude opening they dont know your there but you can be heard when opening your chute. Im no expert either but thats what i think.

History can tell you each has had very few failures but on a whole, each has excelled greatly in their missions. And we all consider ourselves Brothers, Even to the point of a Foe's Spec. Op.'s unit's. @63517489 Delta Are Green Beret. And the Pararescue is not able to do the S.A.S.s Mission at all. And before you say otherwise, I have worked with both.

Even the Seals need to call 9/11, USAF PJs have to be the toughest! But they aren't always working the SEAL workload, so they're pretty even matched.

@klboi56 yes the Navy SEALs operate in all terrain from sea (obviously they are NAVY SEALs) Air, were they parachute, and land.

If you don't think becoming a SEAL will be a challenge you haven't done your research. I believe the drop out rate for the SEALs is in the upper 90%

@eaglesguy2036 the attrition rate is any were from 75%-80% and about 95% of that is by drop on request, other drops are from injuries, lack of determination and others i can't think of.

@CrystalLeeOfficial srry for your lost man my grandpa is old to he served in WW2 army was his branch a coreman or medic don't get to see him that much sadlly since i'm working on getting my eagle and getting good grades in school going to join the military just for him and my step brother who was in army then became PMC don't know how it feels to lose a family member thats close to you but i'm sadly going to find out soon god bless america and the people that served and those still serving

@BFTA911 They do it so that the people near the landing area don't hear the parachutes opening. It also allows the SEALs or whoever to kind of steer their way in to the landing area.

Just so you know HALO is being phased out and being replaced by HAHO(High Altitude High Opening). When HALO jumping you can hear the parachute opening from the ground

@thepanda55 well not necessarily think about it the reason it is has HA at the beginning is high altitude. The jumpers jump in from above radar so they dont know your there then your chute opens where noone can hear you so you really are undetectable. At a low altitude opening they dont know your there but you can be heard when opening your chute. Im no expert either but thats what i think.

Being an 82nd ABN. / Group Trooper I can tell you that each Spec. Op.'s unit has their own specialties that they are better at than others. History can tell you each has had very few failures but on a whole, each has excelled greatly in their missions. And we all consider ourselves Brothers, Even to the point of a Foe's Spec. Op.'s unit's. @63517489 Delta Are Green Beret. And the Pararescue is not able to do the S.A.S.s Mission at all. And before you say otherwise, I have worked with both.

I was born in Colombia but brought to the US when I was three and my dream had always been to be a SEAL and if I were to see somebody disrespect the american flag they would here me bitch because this country gave me everything I have im 19 but i gotta say i cry nearly every day because i have diabetes and that destroyed the only thing i ever wanted because i didnt sit on my ass waiting to one day be a SEAL gym, diet, dicepline and mind were every day things to me and my heroes are those serving

@longer671 first, Rangers are better than SAS, Delta over rangers, green beret above that, and a green beret took the SEAL course and said it was the toughest thing he had ever done.
And sure more SAS passed the opposing course than the SEALs, but war is a mental game, not a physical one, SAS couldn't make it through one day of hellweek, SEALs would joke the whole way through SAS training
since you mention it, pararescue is better than SAS too

@63517489 look just stop now. u cant say the paras are better than the SAS. because the SAS is above the paras. and u cant say that the SAS arent mentally prepared cos thats just a feckin lie. i mean they have torture training, as in they are feckin tortured to make sure they dont give up under torture. they are mentally on top of their game. they learn the languages of places they go they learn tactics of the battlefield they practice different tactics till they can do it in their sleep

@63517489 Okay just stop. pararescue is mainly SAR and SAS isn't so that right there is enough for you to not compare them.Green berets and Navy seals are also specialized in other things then the SAS. They each are specialized in different things. They each have their pride, honor, and dignity.

@shs59 You should read my comment again i know that Pararescue is USAF. I was saying that they are specialized in SAR (search and rescue) And the SAS isn't. So there was no way to compare them. You should actually go to school to learn how to read, or atleast stop being a moron and read the other guys comment.

spetsnatz definitely isn't top 5, a lot of their training and equipment isn't practical in real combat situations. sas is definitely top 3, and ronny do u think you're that in the loop where you know red wings is the only mission seals have failed at? trust me they have failed before and they will do so again thats just how it is, and rangers are older than sas, that doesnt make them better, the u.s. military/colonies had ranger regiments back to the french/indian war, you guys dont read much.
