marisa ,what i loved about this video is ur soft voice and the way you mildly do ur actions sitting on the floor.many who do video for kids r screeching or singingtoo loudly ,my little ones get scared.but instead of "fold them on ur lap" i use put them on ur lap, lap, lap".
@mucookre Thank you for your wonderful comment. And it's nice to see you adding your own twist to the songs. Thats the best things about kids songs, when you make them your own you remember them better and you can use them for years to come. :)
@mucookre Thanks so much. We really try to focus on very detailed instruction and NOT being too 'over the top' or loud. WE know exactly what you are referring to..thanks for commenting on that! :)
This is a great Video very simple and yet very attention attracting. The kids quickly remember and like the simple actions. I have watched a two and seven months old enjoy it and will be teaching my bigger class. the two year.... loved it she followed the actions easily very good video
this is a cute song. i just have to say that when you are using your hands it could be confusing for some children. i teach prek and i feel that some of my higher level students would be confused by the fact that you are holding up 2 fingers (one from each hand) when you say, "one little finger". has this not been a problem for anyone?
Verry good advice hillary. As someone who was always an advanced student, it always confused me when teachers held totals of double the number they were referring too, and would say half the amount.
Hello and thank you for your concern. I personaly have not had any problems with this in my years of teaching. I can see how it can look confusing to the children but in all honesty, we do so many counting activities that this song hasn't posed a problem in my classes througout the years. It is definatley a good thing to keep in mind though. Thanks for your comments.
Hello all, and thank you so much for your wonderful comments. The end of the song goes "5 little fingers, 5 little fingers, 5 little fingers clap clap clap, point them to the ceiling, point them to the floor and fold them in your lap clap clap." I hope this helps. Please e mail me with anymore questiosn or comments. I greatly appreciate it. I will be adding new videos shortly. See you then.
