  • "Except for the pre-schoolers prostitute ring!" LOL

  • i'll KILL HIM KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLL HIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!

  • This has always been one of my favorite scenes from "Heavy metal."

  • whats that song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrRock151 Cheap Trick - "Reach Out"

  • Shut up Charlie.......i got an angle..

  • Why don't l ever here this Cheap Trick song on the radio? All l ever hear is

    " Didn't l hear you crying".

  • this reminds me of my first copy of this lol

  • Who else watched this on TBS back in 93 with Vampire Hunter D, Rock and Rule, Robot Carnival and American Pop? those movies ruled my world since i was 12 when i saw them all.

  • great movie.

  • @zebure

Indeed, if you liked this one check out Creepshow, Akira, Fire and Ice, Ninja Scroll, The Dark Crystal, Willow, Wizards, Fantastic Planet, Gandahar, Ghost in The Shell etc. for similar movies

  • a moving violation... in space... LMAO!!!!

  • Esta escena y la primera historia dibujada por el gran Juan Gimenez son míticas. Creo que aun conservo la cinta Beta

  • Unless you count all the times he sold dope disguised as a nun...

  • Stan reminds me of Captain Hero.

  • ...and one moving violation.

  • Movie really looks better on VHS innit

  • Im guessing this was recorded of VHS?

  • @genkia87 you should be a spy.

  • dont worry... i got an angle. zapp brannigan is clearly based off him

  • @ejmarang You know, I've always thought the same thing; sometimes I even imagine Stern's dialogue being said in Zapp's voice (and then imagine Kif groaning after the "not guilty" part) :D

  • A great scene from a fantastic movie i grew up watching.

  • @TheAltair4

John Vernon is awesome in this movie and was terrific in animal House, Rupert Thorn on Batman animated and he was funny in Killer Klowns from Outer Space as Officer Mooney. I think the movie Trail of the Incredible Hulk was a homage to this scene.

  • Does anyone also remember Rock and Rule, Warriors of the Wind (the 1985 US New World butcher of Nausicaa), Twice Upon a Time and Starchaser? othr cool 80's adult animated movies most 80's kids like myself remember.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Rock & Rule, and Warriors of the wind - yes. Good stuff.

  • @ORCA4312

Warriors of the Wind was my childhood favorite animated movie. But did you know it was a crude edited version of Nausicaa? i didn't realize that until i saw the uncut fansub tape in high school and made myself a copy but learned to accept WOTW as i had 3 copies of the movie since childhood when i was 4 25 years ago and my parents got me the movie for christmas, i made a second copy taped off HBO and bought a used copy at 10, i even watched it on HBO anytime.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I didn't know about the original when I first saw WOTW, but later got to see it and became a fan of Miyazaki's other films (Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, Grave of the Fireflies, etc).

  • @ORCA4312

Same here, how old were you when you saw WOTW and Rock and Rule? I saw R&R on TBS with this movie back in 93 when i was 12 along with Vampire Hunter D, American Pop and Robot Carnival as they blew me away. Did you know James Cameron is a fan of HM and Miyazaki? he used those sources as some of his inspirations to his new movie Avatar. He did borrowed from HM including Nausicaa, Castle in The Sky, Mononoke, Dune, Star Wars, Fantastic Planet and Last of the Mohicans for the film.

  • ..." He should be torn into itsy bitsy little pieces and then buried alive...!"

  • @bogscraper which is obviously impossible ha ha

  • what i love most about this movie is that the orb didn't do anything, it was all the peoples doing...

  • Pre-schooler prostitute ring? Damn...that's some hard time in high space. EPIC MOVIE!

  • @rgrmatt69

I know, did you see this in theaters? one of my online friends did when he was 4 years old and told me it was the movie that got him to like girls at that age as Taarna was his first crush and even one of my friends here saw this on cable back in 83 at age 3 and left an impression on him as Taarna was his first crush.

  • sternnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

  • or all the times he sold dope desguised as a nun!!!!!

  • very good. I remember, I was just 16yo. I hope people reedit it to the future generation..

  • I just realized that you are all just characters in my dream.

    lucid

    the

    novel

    .

    com

  • Steeeeeeeeeeeeerrnn!!!!! LOL

  • "AND ONE MOVING VIOLATION." Funniest line in the movie...LMAO

  • It's the evil spell and curse of the green ball to those who find it.

  • hannover looks kind of like Geddy Lee....

  • I'm pretty sure I have this on DVD, but I could be thinking about Heavy Metal 2000. I know I got this on VHS anyway.

  • Anyone thinks The Fifth Element and Avatar were influenced by this great movie and the comic magazine? well i do since James Cameron is a big fan of this movie and the comics. Avatar was like a full length issue and movie HM story brought to life with Sci-fi fantasy exotic looks of weird worlds and monsters, sexy alien babes with nice tits, warriors, feats of strength etc. and everything a guy with a former adolescent brain would want just like HM.

  • @Johnlindsey289 *chuckle* I still have a stack of the magazine laying around here somewhere. Yeah, I think it influenced a lot of people. Anime included.

After all, there were hundreds of artists involved in HM over decades of time. Some of the more popular storylines made it to this movie, but only in a superficial way.

However, the movie remains a cult classic, and Cameron is part of that cult.

  • I do I luv AVGN

  • LOL @ the preschoolers prostitute ring

  • Who wants to see AVGN review this movie on Cinemassacre? Angry Video Game Nerd for short.

  • Then go buy it and stop leaving stupid comments.

  • @wolfdaisy lol,them were the days,lol

  • @wolfdaisy lol,now that there was funny!

  • @wolfdaisy Ooh! Pwnage!

  • @wolfdaisy

You grew up with HM? so did i since i was 12 18 years ago when i saw it on TBS with Robot Carnival, American Pop, Rock and Rule and Vampire Hunter D.

  • That's the best way to watch this movie is on BetaMax. And while stoned.

  • @panicrev555 Hey now, BetaMax had better video quality than VHS...

  • @panicrev555 ah, in a way the betamax makes it more authentic dude. This movie was first released on betamax.

  • @pillsburydoughboy47

But Blu-Ray and DVD makes this movie more cleaner looking. Say uh did you ever grew up on this movie? I did. And do you remember another awesome 80's adult animated Sci-fi fantasy cult fave called Warriors of the Wind (The 1985 American butchered dub of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind from New World Pictures and had Hal Smith and Cam Clarke voiced it)? that was my favorite animated movie as a kid back about 25 years ago and was the coolest one i've ever seen

  • "37.

    My boyfriend raped 37 chicks."

  • . . . in a row?

  • They should make more mature audiences only animation like this and the closet thing is Beowulf and Haunted World of El Superbeasto.

  • In the west most people think animation is something only kids possible could enjoy.

Japan is the only country in the world were animation is more popular than live-action and is something people of all ages love.

They make more animated movies and shows for older people in Japan than for kids.

  • @CyberLance26

Well Beowulf, Beavis and Butt Head Do America and South Park The Movie were successful in the US.

They need to make films like this, Ralph Bakshi, Akira, Starchaser or others again to prove animation is not just family stuff.

What do you think about hentai including the most infamous of all adult animation Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend? the film that spawned the whole tentacle demon porn thing.

  • Heavy Melal 4 ever

  • not...GUILTY!!!

  • Não importa onde eu vá alguem sempre me encontra.

  • did he say 37 counts of rape?

  • HEAVY METAL!!!! never forget it!!!!

  • lmao i have an angle

  • Man, I thought this part of the movie was funny, even though I didnt really understand most of the things they said lol

  • "and one moving violation" Hahahahaha

  • Captain Stern was created by

    Berni Wrightson who also co-created

DC Comics original muck man The Swampthing.

  • if i was that lil blue eyeball guy you see me sitting behind him and pulling out a 9mm slowly then his would splode in the middle of the court room then id fly my ass outta there lol

  • This is my favourite part of the movie. The only problem is this quality is crap.

  • Why does this video only have 4.5 stars? STOP THIS FAGGOTRY!

  • Hey, as a faggot who loves this film don't blame us! I Gave it five despite the quality!

  • what angle?

  • I've got an angle.

  • lmfao at that nerd going Crazy then get's killed at the end lol

  • Hanover Fist is alive and well and goes by the name of SOLO last seen in Berzerkeley

  • reminds me of zapp brannigan.

  • yeah and gaston

  • Hanover at 2:59 reminds of Edward Norton in the film Primal Fear when he reveals his other 'self'

  • Reach out and take it...

    Oh yeah!

  • This is my favorite episode in the film because its no so dystopian like some others. The Taxistory was good too.

  • And it is the basis for Zap Branigan!

  • HANGING'S TOO GOOD FOR HIM! BURNING'S TOO GOOD FOR HIM! HE SHOULD BE CHOPPED INTO ITSY BITSY PIECES AND BURIED ALIVE!!! xD

  • I think it'd be funny if he said "itsy bitsy".

  • Judging by those counts, sounds like Stern was a real scumbag. A downright evil man who seriously needed to be put down like some rabid dog. And he almost got it if Hanover wasn't so easy to dupe. I have to say, Stern was lucky to have escaped what would have been his gruesome execution.

  • Indeed, but he will be captured another time.

  • In other words, if Hanover doesn't get him, the authorities will.

  • lol

  • I love the song that plays in this sequence of the movie. It's pretty catchy for early 80s. It wasn't until a few years later when I learned that this song was written and performed by the same band (Cheap Trick) that made the song that plays in the end credits for the 1986 movie "Top Gun".

  • Reminds me of Illinois Democrat Govenor Blagojevich. LOL

  • 12 murders, 37 rape, and a moving violation and he says not guility??

  • best part of movie, "STEEERRRN!!!"

  • unless you count out all the times he sold dope disuise as a nune lol

  • Did you hear that? He's got an angle? He goes by the name of Hand Over Fist. lol He was promised 35,000 zoolacks.

  • I love Captain Sternn.

  • I was willing to let it slide, until that MOVING VIOLATION! Burrrnn hiiimmmmm!

    STERRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNN!!!!!!

  • pre-schoolers prostitute ring part was funny XD i always lawl when i hear hanover say that!

  • OH YEAH!!!! It's on now! I love this bit.

  • My favorite scene from movie.

This scene reminds me of Dr jekkyl & mr hyde

  • There's another reference to Sternn, (I prefer to think of it as an homage rather than a ripoff.)Zapp Brannigan on Futurama, who they said was based on Captain Kirk. But his strutting and absurd screw-ups, attacking innocent civilizations, are very Sternn-esque. Hanover Fiste in his wimpy persona even reminds me of Kif Kroker, Brannigan's long-suffering lieutenant. Finally, to show I am a total nerd, the prosecutor in this scene reminds me of Professor Hubert Farnsworth, at least in appearance.

  • did anyone else notice that captain hero on drawn together is a semi-ripoff of captain stern

  • "And one moving violation"

  • NO MORE DELTA!

    NO MORE FUN!

  • Hangings too good for him, burnings too good for him...best part of the movie.

  • Him !

  • I've got an angle ...

  • WHAT ANGLE!?

  • "STEEEEERRRRN!!!!"

  • Does anyone know the song that plays in this scene?

  • cheap trick..... is the group... and reach out might be what the song is called.

  • reach out by cheep trick

  • John Vernon

  • This is my favorite short in the movie. Hanover's damned awesome.

  • sounds like Animal House's Dean Wermer's voice maybe?

  • Good ear! You hit it on the Bull's eye.

  • Oh yeah! It is his voice!!

  • i cant believe its eugene levy doing the voice of sternn... (i imdb'd it)

  • right on brother

  • Burnin's too good for him!!!!!!
