I rented this movie thinking "what an old-looking film, let's give it a try". Then I watched it over and over and over again. It's up there with Kurosawa Akira's "Ikiru". And Ryuichi Sakamoto's music only enriches the memory of watching it to a new level. Thanks, Pepsikol1!
@Pepsikol1 ohh, i'm sure i can digest whatever ryuichi sakamoto feeds me, I can't get enough of his piano solos, and the movie tokyo story is also amazing, i just watched it few days ago, goes well with the song too, both understatedly sublime

thanks. good experiment. 面白い試みですね。 もともと東京物語のCD-ROMのために作られた曲だと聞きましたが、どんな風に映像と重ねられる予定だったのでしょう。 小津ファンの教授は、戦前の無声時代の作品に音楽をつけたこともあるそうです。
