This film is good, but it isn't dark enough for me. The scenes seem too long, and lack nuance. I'm fascinated by Dahmer's existence during his killing spree. So little of that is touched upon in this film. I like the structure of using flashbacks, but overall I don't get the feeling of what things would really be like in Dahmer's nightmarish apartment during those years.

This movie gets some stuff right, but it bums me out that so many have seen it and come to accept Jeremy Renner's version of Dahmer. He's a good actor but he doesn't look (or sound) anything like Jeff in the adult scenes. This movie is also kind of surreal and stylized.

Now the low-budget cheesy movie "Secret Life of Jeffrey Dahmer" was far more accurate, and the guy who plays Dahmer is much more correct. Yet no one knows that movie.

To each their own, I just hate the inaccuracy of this film.
