No. If they didn't want an honest answer they shouldn't ask the question. Not everyone wants gay people go through a ceremony called marriage. That doesn't mean that they don't respect the right for the couple to make a life together or would want to deny them any particular opportunity - to have health insurance on each other's plans, inheritance rights, etc.

How does getting married by a justice of the peace, or at city hall, equate to a religious ceremony. To the contrary, ever heard of the term called "separation of church and state". No church is required to perform any marriage. Let a catholic try to get married in a synagogue and see what happens. Churches don't HAVE TO marry interacial couples, or gay couples or anyone else that they don't like. Religion and church are irrelevant to the discussion of legal marriages.

I generally like Marks work. what I don't get is this. The lady said she was cool with it, she just didn't agree with it. Now why does not agreeing with someone else's choice equate to being afraid of it!?! I am not afraid of Gay, Bi, or the like, but I don't hate it either. and it's this "you agree with my sexuality or your afraid / racist / bla bla bla" b.s. that does piss me off and generally promotes an almost hatred of homosexuals where none exist in the first place... just my 2 cents.

There are government granted rights associated with marriage, and that is why many who identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered are fighting for it. Also, not everyone feels a need to choose a religion at all. Some people disregard religion all together. Many people would agree that they do not require a religion to leadd perfectly normal and healthy lives.

I don't dislike "gay" people I have friends who are "gay" and also have employed "gay' people i tell them straight up I don;t approve of homosexualit because i am a Christian but, i don't dislike them1 They arte usually pretty funny and make me laugh! But I stand with The word of God on this issue reguardless of the political climate ! I feel even more so about abortion! The doctors that take these babies life should be sentenced to death!

The point of living in a country that provides freedom of religion is that the rules of that land are based on secular rules. Who's face is upon that coin? Then give unto Caesar what is Caesar's.
We cannot bind anyone who refuses to be bound to the laws of a religion to the laws of that religion. To do otherwise is to promote that religion above others.

I read about arguments like that in aristotle and an aardvark go to washington. Essentially it's a load of bunk to make an argument with that basis. Just because this dictates this, does not mean that that dictates that under the same reasoning. I'm christian, and I believe God has been there the whole time, but I also believe in evolution, and the bible is vague to God's methods of creation. Rule number 2 is love thy neighbor, and Jesus says you shouldn't judge, so let gays do what they want.
