AFR 185's are a great street strip head and are capable of making great power but if you want 500hp out of a 306 you might want to step up to the 205's your also going to need a big solid roller along with good single plan manifold and alot of rpm hopefully you don't plan on using the stock block.
My choice would be AFR 185s. We went a 5.71 with a 1.25 60ft. 331 with only a 650 demon. And our 306 same size carb and heads went a 6.15 at 115 never upped the nitrous that was on a 225 shot plate.
So, what block did you start out with? Any plans on spraying it? Flowing those heads would be well worth the money. I put an X303 cam with race-flowed (stage4) GT-40 heads and Stage 3 GT-40 intake and that got my 306 running 450hp. Sweet ride man, what track do you run at?
There's really no stage 4, it's called race flowed, i had some other kid ask me what that was so i told him it was just the next step past a stage 3 port job so he could understand. I do know my shit man, I got my first mustang when you were two and owned many since then man. I'm buying a 400 with a C4 from a buddy and I'm planning on dropping it in an 87-93 LX. A guy I know in town is gonna have that 400 running 550hp on motor alone, his 400 is in a 10 second F-150, not bad for a truck
is that a stock c4 u have bolted up?

hey, I saw some of your specs in another vid but was curious what the race weight is.
Also, does it have a/c, p/s, alum brakes, or race seats up front. thanks...and nice ride.

3150 with driver.
All factory interior (stock seats front and rear), stock brakes, no A/C, no P/S.
Thanks for the compliment.

how much hp are you putting out
yungphenom09 2 years ago
#'s below are rear wheel horsepower on a chassis dyno when I had a 5 speed in it. Now has C4 automatic:
451 rwhp (SAE Dynojet) peak @ 5900 rpm
465 rwtq (SAE Dynojet) peak @ 4200 rpm
Best 1/4 mile time:
10.57@125 (1.44 60') pump gas - 93 Octane
