  • This band goes beyond mere genre labels, each album is a different beast but always great challenging & inspirational music.

  • why do people make dumb comments about labeling the music? i thought we would be passed that by now.

  • @666alilthrowedoff666 so people can find other bands similar. otherwise they could end up searching for katy perry...

  • I never tried to listen to PTW before mainly because I thought they were another whinny skinny jeans core type band.

    I was totally wrong.

Can anyone suggest which album I should try out and buy first??? Would be greatly appreciated.

  • @avenge111 The Opposite of December is without any doubt there best work and still one of the best hardcore albums ever made.

  • @morphinglight their*

  • @morphinglight thanks man! Definitely gonna check it out!

  • @avenge111 if u like screaming/melodic try "soil work" light the torch ;)

  • @sanedreams yeah I know soilwork.

  • @avenge111

For me the best albums are without a doubt the third album 'You come before you' followed by the debut full length 'The opposite of december' and then 'Versions' but all the albums are awesome & different.

  • love screamo

  • @rosedarsin This isn't screamo..

  • @rosedarsin go listen to some then, cos this aint it

  • Sinceramente, ¿Porque habra gente que no le guste esto?!!!!!!

    Is FUCKiNG PERFECT!!

  • I remember seeing them live way back in the day. The best Hardcore band of their generation.

  • Hardcore!

  • Freakin awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great hardcore band. Shame they're inactive.

  • PTW FTW

  • @crumbs72 Amen to that brother.....

  • im gonna upload videos with lyrics of the missing songs so everyone can enjoy it :) this is a very awesome album!

  • I love all that these guys do however, in my opinion You Come Before You is their best work. Just a solid bunch of guys that deserve much more credit than they get.

  • Badass Fucking Song, to that, I'm gonna fuck to it

  • I think this is great, prefer the 'you come before...' as an LP but, hell, this is a tune! And who cares what they were... hardcore, postcore, hardpost, mathpostcore... its just some fine heavy sh*t!!

  • tropic rot the best cd heard in the last 10 years......they have such a unique sound thankfully for all the shitty post hardcore bands out there....

  • I miss them :(

  • This song gave me a boner, i don't know why... It's good, but not that good to give me a fuckin' boner... wth

  • WHAT? THEY BROKE UP?

  • @anguskahn22 Sort of. They went on hiatus last year to "explore other interests."

  • @whyinternet

I hope they get back together. :(

  • R.I.P oh sweet Poison the Well. It feels like it's been forever since I last saw them in 2009 :(

  • austin carlile loves this band how could u not love this

  • @petezombieify austin carlile is a fucking joke him and all his shit bands are the reason this genre of music is fucking mainstream now

  • Thumbs up if Motionless In White brought you here :D

  • 35 people will exist underground AFTER I FUCKING KILL THEM AAAAARAGGRHARHAGHGRHGARHRHGARHGRHGARHGRAGHRAGH

  • @BravePlatoon Hes telling you to exist underground.

  • FUCK YES!!! THESE IS NOSTALGIC AS HELL

  • These guys have always been hella epic \m/

  • GOD ALMIGHTY..How did I forget about these guys?! Man.. I used to be so into them.. I borderline shed a tear when I found out they broke up after getting so excited about rediscovering them

  • i hate to admit it but i kind of forgot about poison The well there for a minute. I mean, i own all their albums but i havent listened to any of em for awhile but THEN i stumbled across this not knowing they put out a new album. To anyone who has ever liked them, BUY THIS ALBUM! Its the best album since TearFTR. One of the best albums ive heard in AGES. This and the new Fair To Midland and new Born Of Osiris are 3 newer albums everyone should own, despite this being like 2 years old already lol

  • holy shit this is awesome...

  • I miss these fuckers, such a great band, really intense live. I had the privilege of catching them live.

  • ive heard poison the well is emocore!? oh man thats true POST HARDCORE

    *Like It* ;)

  • I can't believe some people think poison the well is emo.

  • PTW rulez

  • I remember seing them live in philly with AM taxi and billy talent. They were fucking amazing.

  • RIP ....miss this band

  • miss the old POTW :(

    this isn't bad but...

  • @instantsurgery i don t!!!!! this is the best poison the well.....is absolutely the best cd they ever created....the rest was made by young guys learning to make tropic rot one day.

  • I fucking love this band.

  • awesome, didn't expect them to be still so good

  • Shit.. I'm late for work

  • One of the greatest albums of 2009...

  • wow wow wow wow fucking love thi cd.....why when band reach their best sound splitttt.....well this cd is the bst made by post hardcore music after refused and at the drive in....yes fuck it!!!!

  • NERDY still the best song ever.

  • Seriously this is the best they have sounded since Tear from the red but it still doesn't compare to it or OOD.

  • Check out HateFace-Tickets to the Donkey show

  • sparks will rain in canada

  • though ptw now have mature i still think OOD is thier best album. ptw is the reason i'm into hardcore/metal until now.

  • *sigh* I got kids at school telling me to check this out and now I'ma have to go back and tell them they lied cuz this is boring and generic just like 95% of the rest of the bands in the hardcore genre.

  • @73RULAS it's only boring because of the 95% of hardcore bands that are generic, because they want to copy ptw. and what kind of faggot sighs on youtube comments?

  • @mynameisthegong Chill. They all do the same thing. I'm glad the guitarist left to play with Sleigh Bells. Thats a real original band right there :)

  • @mynameisthegong "what kind of faggot sighs on youtube comments?"

    lolllllll best comment ever

  • i watched this video bcoz it's on a7x mix....i'm a big fan of a7x...

poison the well, a great band though

  • Great band, awesome sound- this is the sort of music that should be the soundtrack of a revolution!! Bradley Grace is none other the son of legendary Irish comedian Brendan Grace. Brendan Grace is a superb clean Irish stand up who was a favorite of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jnr.

  • This isn't bad, I can definitely fuck with this

  • Finally they have a complete line up including a real bass player and then they make the best record of their lives then they put out this terrible, terrible video then they disappear into oblivion. God damn it!

  • 16 dislikes?!, are you crazy who ever disliked this video?

  • @jrmorales86

    Deaf People..

  • @jrmorales86 Chavs

  • @jrmorales86 apparently 16 more people disliked it

  • @jrmorales86 I would, the music never picks up and it's quite quiet.

  • @jrmorales86 a bunch of suicide silence lovin' retards

  • i never gave thiz band a chanze and they're very great......ofcourze i knew they're old school which iz great.....too bad they spawned many fucking horrible bandz but it'z not their fault.....alzo it'z funny they struggled alot to make money and shitty bandz get more than they do

  • @wearesuarez And it'z alzo funny you type ur S's as Z's

    That's annoying; Stop it

  • @Byzantic you muzzzzzzzzzzztttt be one of the idiotz that enjoy the shitty bandz they spawned lol......small mindzzzzz think alike.....you make me zzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzZZZZZZZZZ

  • Check out Hateface-Vlad

  • This video makes me feel like I am at a show, especially when the kid is walking around with the bloody nose.

  • If poison the well were sellouts and just in it for the money they wouldn't have made versions or the tropic rot. All they needed to do was do a record similar to opposite of decemeber and all the little faggy scene kids would've been all over it! Hats off to them for not doing that and sticking to their guns. One of the best bands around. They'll be missed. Been a fan since '99, amazing live.

  • @Puparia Exactly, they did everything they possibly could tobreak the contract with Atlantic records, wich were trying to tell them what to do, to sell more albums.

  • just read that they broke up... gives me a kind of heartache... PTW is a good band, get back together soon

  • I love every song thats come from this band

  • you guys should check out another sick band.

    myspace url is /ashotinthedark0

  • julian julian julian, find something better to do with your time....btw...sniff the glue you fuck

  • your costume will not come off! remember this

  • sounds like deftones

  • Dude, honestly these guys are pioneers. "The Opposite Of December" is groundbreaking, set the stage for all these bands now once Jeff joined the band. Incredibly amazing. Cheers via Texas.

  • awesome!!!

  • Never heard of this band until I wasgoing through this setlist. Amazing.

  • do you have without you ans one other one.....

    because i cant find it

i also cant find cinema anymore

  • this shits wanna try to song like BRUJERIA or SLIPKNOT? if is like that O shit!

  • @alexito131415 wtf?

  • I only just started listening to this band. I heard tropic rot first and im slowly making my way back to their older stuff. They are actually the best thing iv heard in a while. Totally changed my look on music. An inspiration!

  • @Thecolourjim Poison the wll and specially their guitars...

ARE MY FUCKING INSPIRATION SINCE 1999!!! GUYS, COME BACK!!!!!!!

  • this is a good song off the new lp, which i bought not too long ago. i like that when he sings he doesn't sound whiny like in other records.

  • I love this band, every album is different from 'Opposite of december' to 'The Tropic Rot' but still sounds like no one else but Poison The Well. I hope the hiatus isn't definite. Come back soon PTW with more beautiful, brutal, challenging & inspirational music.

  • @TrephineArtist Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • DESTROY THE CHANDELIER!

  • Am I the only one who has been listening to PTW since before 2002? Like say The Opposite of December! I believe that was around 97-ish.

  • @ProTuner06 Here here. 1999. The Opposite of December was a masterpiece.

  • @ProTuner06 That album takes me back to my early 20's... I love that shit, fuck I love all their shit!!!

  • so this is newer poison the well? i've been a fan since 02 and saw them live a couple times between then and 05... not sure how much i like the softer edge to it... i miss their late 90s shit.

  • Fuck mainstream. Poison the Well! Rape the churches! Burn the women!

  • fucking quality. just fucking quality. more bands like this right now please.

  • Poison the Well will missed, I haven't even seen them live yet and I've been a fan since 02. Best wishes for them now let make this video reach the 1000,000 views mark!

  • @jrmorales86 haha meant *100,000

  • @jrmorales86 1000,000 Works though.

  • @jrmorales86 no you mean 200,000

  • @jrmorales86 ditto dude... I've been a fan since their first album and I never get to see em.. I almost went to the BT with PT show and I didnt :( big mistake on my part.

  • @jrmorales86 there are 15 dislikes we have 999,985 more to go! Keep up the good work.

  • @jrmorales86

Seeing them live was an absolutely life changing experience. I really wish you could have seen them.

  • @jrmorales86 same here bro

  • youll be greatly missed ptw. well be meeting again for the first time, again, in the near future.

  • On July 14, 2010, Poison the Well announced that they are going on hiatus to "explore other interests."

  • I'm impressed! They have progressed and it sounds even better than "You Come Before You."

  • Very Nice Hardcore.

  • i was actually listening to this song while killing time b4 i had to go to work...

then he says...'GET TO WORK..GET TO WOOORRKK!!!"

so i got up and went to work....(after video)

  • @Xerorph if you were listening to Deez Nuts, they would've tell you pretty much the same thing lol

  • One of my favorite bands ever. They are actually on a hiatus now. This band deserves a lot more credit than they get. Always honest music, not trendy.

  • @TheApedosmil arent they on a hiatus because the guitar player is in sleigh bells lol

  • GRITTY AND GRIMEY.

  • Great clip...

  • With each album, Poison the Well's sound becomes more and more essential. In the beginning, they shaped the screamo genre. Starting with "Distance", they dissected the tropes of screamo and replaced them with a musical style that matched the emotional power. The last two albums, I think, have this droning, anxious, visceral sound that makes you feel ambiguity and angst. Stated otherwise, they've gone from telling us about emotion to making us feel it directly and deeply.

  • @beforehonour

this is not screamo, you fucking moron.

    Orchid is screamo.

  • love these guys, love all their albums, but nothing will ever compare to opposite of december....so heavy, such powerul breakdowns, such force..that album gives me goosbumps....this stuff is really spacey and offbeat which i appreciate aswell....poison the well styles has changed quite a bit, although we have to remember guys this band has been through more members then alot of other bands.

  • Im a huge fan for a long time and i must say that its one of that bands that will never desapoint. =) Long live for the WELL

  • I <3 PLAID SOOO MUCH MORE NOW

  • poison the well is a perfect example for explaining what's gonna happen to all these other unknown bands that stay on for a long time....they eventually become famous. tho it seems more fun to slowly get main stream than immediately turning up like Attack Attack~

  • if good shit is going mainstream then who cares? as long as it stays good. typically mainstream stuff sucks and that's why we hate it. but if this were to be played on the radio, then awesome.

  • Poison the Well is STILL amazing.

  • ptw used to be so gooddddd

    grain of salt.......

  • awesome band

  • Super track.

  • Cara quando quebrei o nariz no mosh sai igual e esse meluco que sai aos 35 segundos xD

  • this band is badass, and even if you dont like them you have to give them credit, im a long time fan and love ever cd they've put out.

  • I love how they add a Deftones sound to they're new stuff.

  • ive seen this three times now and it gets better with every watch

  • i have said it a million times and i will say it again its better to play music that is FUCKING NASTY the sell out like a PUNK BITCH bring it to the people with or without money, shallow fucks are fake fucks

  • @GrizeldaFitch goddamn typos i meant to type then** not fucking THE AARRGG

  • @GrizeldaFitch dude, honestly, as a musician, i don't consider making money off your hard work "selling out". i call that "buying in". selling out is when you allow the record company to tell you what kind of music to make. I'm positive these guys wouldn't mind making a few bucks off their work as well.

  • fuck it. either way they're great. lets say they were chasing dollars but still bringing great shit to mainstream radio, in this case we would have nothing to bitch about because the radio would be playing the sounds we want. isn't this why we hate mainstream in general, because it isn't like this. but if it was like this then hallelujah!

  • i can see his vein pop out when he Screams

    oh hail poison the well

  • actuallly to add to that getting their shit stolen(which their label helped replace) they get zero royalties from their first album with Trustkill....so i heard...and thats trustkills best selling album...but ive seen them about 5-6 times and last time i saw them it was really good.

  • Even if they did go mainstream, not saying they did, you cant tell me if you had a chance to get more money you wouldn't go for it? Think about that before you start posting shit.

  • I can't necessarily say that these guys have chosen to exist underground, but this video is pure hardcore nostalgia. So many memories...

  • if you think old bless the fall is way better than the present then go to my channel and click the link to my profile that will direct you to the face book fan page. join now

  • great band, sooo good live! ALL BUSINESS!!!!!

  • poison the well is the shit. ive enjoyed every cd they ve put out

  • Jeffrey Moreira = fucking awesome singer

  • I'll love anything Poison the Well comes out with. The Tropic Rot is a fuckin wicked cd.

  • idk what everyone is saying, but there new shit is amazing. some of it sucks but every band has that

  • It's always been the same three core members doing their thing. They experiment, naturally not everyone will enjoy it. Fuck it, it's hit and miss.

  • Sheeeeeeeer fuuuckereeeeey!!!!

    Love it

  • Comment removed

  • Huh...jeffrey (the singer) joined a year later after the project started, he did all the albums beside their really first EP Distance Only Makes The Heart Grow Fonder.

  • @ProjectXeyu im pretty sure Jeff did Distance Only Makes The Heart Grow Fonder too. It sounds like him and the lyrics are his words, you can tell lol. Jeff is mad deep.

  • @myth6727 Never noticed their were two vocalist in the first ep? Aryeh Lehrer and Duane Hosein we're the original vocalists.

  • @ProjectXeyu Honestly man i didnt notice it it sounds pretty much like Jeff. But hey you learn something new everyday. Thanks for telling me that, thats really cool to know

  • @myth6727 only in the rerelease in the live songs
