  • I'm wondering why we don't make similar videos today.

This clip celebrates how wonderfully modern everything is/was in 1965.

If only the trend continued as it seemed so inevitably to do so at the time....

  • I so remember all this stuff, I wana be little again!

  • Social History.

  • damn those sixties! It'd be great living without cheapass no-design Chinese stuffs!

  • Did we make things in the UK? I always thought we were a land of estate agents, hairdressers and social workers. It seems amazing that the British knew how to work screwdrivers and spanners and design computers! Brilliant film to show my grandchildren, but I doubt they will believe it is true. More like antique science fiction.

  • thats a big cup of tea little fella.

  • the voice over at the beginning shows how much Britain has changed.

  • I love how she was bathing with toy boats. lol!

  • Love the computers and the large tea cup.

    Thanks for the post.

  • Another glimpse of the past, thanks for sharing.

Sad to say but I have to agree with "motters2001" what ever would be designed in the UK would then be produced in Aisa, these days.

  • Increasingly 'Not designed' here either.

  • those are some long ass pieces of toast

  • i usually love your channel and this looks like a cool film but why are you only showing a very small clip of it? it's kinda frustrating to sit thru the credits then have it cut out so quickly. thanx

  • Okay, you put bread in the toaster and you get toast. But where does the bread go?

  • Bread can usually be found in a large crock, hence the expression "that's a crock of bread."

  • modern life is amazing!

  • This video is f'ing awesome!!

  • the teapot was charming ...

  • Interesting and fun. Those toothbrushes were nasty though.

  • Very nice footage...thanks for posting.

  • Today very few of those things would be made in Britain.

  • As a designer, this is what is wrong with UK design, no charm (and I am British)

  • How on earth can you say that British design has no charm???

So then why have most of the Worlds' car manufacturers got design facilities in the UK if it's that charmless??

  • @kutarc I love British design, and British products. When I stayed in London I had a great time too. I was always made to feel at home by my host family. British is cool.
