@howtoplaybassdotcom You should listen to your audience/customer. You've got the potential to have a great instructional series, yet you've just blown off someone trying to learn from you. They gave you GREAT advice. TAB on the side or in your description would help new comers greatly. You said "Doesn't work for me. End of story." The whole point of you recording these videos is to help others learn so it works for them. Get off your pedestal sir.
@ollenbergerstudios I hear what you're saying...and I agree with you. Perhaps I was a little terse in my answer - for that I hold my hands up and say I could have dealt with it better. And yep that was why it appears 'I am on a pedestal' as you say. There's a bunch of issues to deal with...time is the main one. And the only way I could do that would be to post videos less frequently.....(cont)
Following on....for the sake of adding tab I'm not prepared to post less frequently. It doesn't fit the vision of what I'm trying to achieve. At the end of the day I have clear goals on what I'm trying to do - and limited time to do it. Adding tab doesnt fit those goals - and doubles the time it will take to achieve those goals. Does that make more sense? (And you're right - I 'blew him off' and that was condescending. Thanks for putting me straight.)
@howtoplaybassdotcom I respect your goals. I respect this response. I don't respect your ability to adapt. In the end though- whatever makes you happy is what you should strive for.
@ollenbergerstudios It's not a question of what makes me happy. With the greatest respect I wouldn't post my complete goals here on an open forum like YouTube for many reasons. The bottom line is that adding tab to my videos wouldn't fit those goals - and just as with practicing if something doesn't help me meet my goals then I ruthlessly cut it from my schedule. Adaptability doesn't enter into the equation.
@ollenbergerstudios the tabs are on ultimate guitar.com, but these videos are great for the timing and help visualising the tabs on the fret board. This guy should be thanked for taking the time to help, not bitched at by a spoilt brat who thnks everything should be handed to him for free
@mrgeebaby86 Dude - thanks for the comment and the support - but seriously, it's not a deal on my part. I do what I do - people can choose to take it or leave it. If they think what I offer isn't enough...hey, they can set their own channel up that shows me how to do it!
Could you just put tabs in annotations at the side? Or in the description? It'll make it a lot easier to figure out.
