I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (October 3), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church. I played this as the opening hymn. However, it was to the tune MELITA, composed by John B. Dykes, 1823-1876. It is #597 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. This tune (THE SOLID ROCK), is #596 in the ELW.
We must stand frirm on Christ the Solid Rock. All other ground IS sinking sand and will pull you down. Any other attempt or method to be free from sin and also to be free from condemnation from other so called "christians" only leads to more failure. "When the commandment came, sin became alive and I died; and this commandment, which was to result in life, proved to result in death for me; for sin, taking an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me." Rom 7:9-11
I was a Methodist organist for a good number of years, and I used to like to throw in the antiphonal trumpet on that last verse! Nice video!
