  • i love broadcast but what i cant seem to figure out is why they were so drawn to witch cults???

    perhaps they practiced witchcraft???

  • precious cult

  • RIP Trish Keenan

  • Am I to understand that there is a film to go with the WHOLE album? Anyone know how I can see the whole thing? God, I would love 2.

  • it's weird. . . yet it's kinda cool

  • Easy to do After few beers and after busting a nut with the sexy singer hehe

  • It's funny people consider this "weird", since it's the most conventional and pop-oriented song on the whole album (which by the way, is fucking fantastic). It takes repeated listens to get over the disharmony and let the beauty truly soak in though, which may account for why it's so underrated in comparison to the rest of Broadcast's work.

  • I wonder if there are any subliminal messages in their songs?

  • Only 36 dislikes out of 540! I'm glad that by and large people come here to appreciate this kind of thing.

  • Wonderful.

  • It's not so bad. It sounds actually nice.

  • I can't believe how people still find this scary or weird. Which era do they live in? it looks like we are not ready for these great bands. Such a shame we won't have anything new from Broadcast. RIP Trish.

  • @oomingmakk The funny thing is, people WERE ready 40-50 some odd years ago. What would've then been considered stimulating and enlightening is now, apparently, "creepy". People are just less accepting towards this sort of thing and don't have any concept of cultural/musical history or appreciation.

Also, kids, the substance you're trying to refer to (if you absolutely have to bring drugs into this in the first place) is not crack, nor is it meth. It's LSD.

  • We here in the wilds of northern New Jersey consider Broadcast to be very beautiful indeed. Warp appears to be of interest.

  • We here in the wilds of northern New Jersey consider Broadcast to be very beautiful indeed.

  • i love this. and i hate those who doesnt understand.

  • bleep is the best online music shop

  • What is with all the asshole comments? Broadcast have been around since the mid 90s. They were a fantastic group. This is actually a collaboration with The Focus Group. Trish the singer of Broadcast died earlier this year of pneumonia. Show some respect! Their other music is less frantic than this but this is still fantastic too. Open your ears and let it flow into your mind.

  • I thought this would be scary :(

  • This isn't normal. But on meth it is.

  • What's the name of this song? I downloaded the Broadcast and Focus Group album but there's no song on there called Witch Cults

  • I loved Broadcast- but certainly not with noodles! I fear there may be cannabalistic tendencies in some of our groops (woops, I meant groups) today; especially in Europe.

I know you people fear a takeover- but this is not the answer (my word)!

  • @backwardrawkcab What...the...hell. To all of your comments on Broadcast vids.

  • @xXPinkGoddessXx I know, right?!?

  • Woops, I guess it's north New Jersey ( an artist area)

  • Search high and "low" for a "key" figure in Germany.

  • R.I.P Trish. Such an awesome collaboration between Broadcast and The Focus Group, too bad we will not get to see more.

  • Gutted :o(

  • We need more great musicians today. Why did death have to take away yet another?..

  • Thank you Trish. You will never know what youve inspired in a boy from Long Island.

  • Why is Britain so obsessed with the 1960's still??? A few decades have come and gone since then. The 60's weren't so great. Maybe Britain is still afraid of modern dental care.

  • @drogoscg There is no such thing as 'The 1960's'.

  • @drogoscg 1960s or 1860s? Clarify or begone.

Why is America so obsessed with dental hygiene?

  • @diskochimp I guess some of my fellow americans, seem more obsessed with dental hygiene, than that everyone have health care despite the pretensions of being a Christian nation...

  • @drogoscg Why are you so obsessed about what others are obsessed about. I say try to relax your sphinkkkter...

  • @drogoscg The only one stuck in the past seems to be you and your idea of humour.

  • @drogoscg Fucking troll.

  • The music and the video are just brilliant.

  • Great video. I liked the colours and it was groovy! So sad to know that the singer recently passed away.

  • R.i.p. Trish, reigning in blood was a really good album.

  • nice song

  • My condolences to her friends, fans and family for their loss.

  • I am so sick of death! So selfishly sad about hearing the news...! Oh how I miss you already...

  • in tatters over this news. life is so unfair.

  • rest in peace

  • What a sad, sorry day. x

  • miss you trish....

  • RIP Trish... What a sad, sad day for music...

  • I was waiting for Charles Manson to show up

  • Please tell me that Trish is not gone...

  • @Donbecker5 "Trish is not gone."

  • @Donbecker5 sorry, but yes. i miss her too.

  • wonderful!

  • excellent...

  • i'm pleased to realize i like this... for some reason.

  • ah I love both stereolab and broadcast but to me stereolab seem like more based on jamming so they start off in a basic loop and go from there, but broadcast are more structured sonically.I have been a huge fan of both but broadcast seem to be progressing more so than stereolab sonically. and julian house's visuals are so great. so I could see a comparison but if I was to compare stereolab to somebody it would be high llamas or neu! or something. not broadcast.both are very different even their

  • broadcast is one of the few groups who i greatly admire and appreciate that make current music

  • first off, this is unbelievable, video and music alike

second, i love stereolab and broadcast and the focus group and they do have similarities..the way an apple is similar to an orange. they're both fruit, they both look cool, and they're both pretty sweet. but they dont taste like eachother

haha i guess im just agreeing they're not that similar

  • which is genre of this music?

  • @dilanjagger space.

  • lsd

  • holy mind fuck

  • This song could have been one of the all time greats's if it had been a 3-4 minute pop song.

  • @KeithCanisius -there's a longer version on the album.

  • see emily play

  • oh my god, this is the best i've heard since curt boettcher!

  • Awesomeness

  • ◎

  • Broadcast have very little similarity to The United States of America (besides both bands having a psychedelic bent and a female vocalist), although T.U.S. of A. has oft been quoted as their sole influence. I think this is as unlikely as it is irrelevant. I do love Broadcast far more than any band mentioned in this thread; they are certainly one of the most inventive and interesting collection of artists alive today.

Speaking of Stereolab, check out Atlas Sound's song Quick Canal (w/ L. Sadier)

  • Quick Canal, yes! It sounds like old school, luscious Stereolab, in fact.

  • - TRISHA CORPORATION -

Thats the name of my fake company of videogames.

(I just added an A to her name))

  • Delia Derbyshire would love this.

  • OK byatchy commenters. Why do you have to diss bands? Why spend time spreading your negativity on these posts? Broadcast has a lot of variety. You can hear it throughout. If you hear one album maybe not as much. But definitely throughout. As for influences such as United states of america and stereolab, what honest band does not have influences. Whatever!!! if you don't like it don't watch it. If you want to become a music critic apply for Rolling Stone...

  • Broadcast reminds me of the United States of America (60s band) and, yes, I can hear the Stereolab a bit too.

  • They are really influenced by The United States of American.

  • one of the illest records to drop last year

  • so why are Broadcast and Stereolab often compared?

while sharing some similarities, they don't sound much alike at all...

  • Really? You don't think so? I've only just stumbled across this amazing band, but I can definitely hear a heavy Stereolab influence in this woman's singing. She has a similar, flat, style that Laetitia from Stereolab (I think that's how you spell her name) does.

  • I love Stereolab but I'd argue the opposite, no two Broadcast records sound alike. Heck, comparing Haha Sound, to Tender Buttons, to the newest one could be forgiven for thinking all three were the works of seperate groups who all happened to like psychelic music and have a female singer. Stereolab has basically made the same song for 20 years, granted it's one of the best songs ever.

  • @kelloggcerealxoxo

yeah, thats what I said too..........and got a right kicking for my trouble.

  • reminds me of there first album.

  • This is dreamy!!

  • The Wire just declared this their 1# album of the year

  • i'm confused, this version is different and a lot shorter than the one on the album. it's better in my opinion. was this a single

  • fantastic, amazing, heavenly

  • from the elements of dark & light..
