  • what's wrong with line 6's :s? i have a iv 30 watt and it sounds nice imo

  • @metallica2901 try other amps and you'll realise the spider sucks big time

  • @metallica2901 Try an all tube Class A amplifier like a Vox AC30 or a fender 212

  • @metallica2901 Get yerself a nice all-tube amp and you'll curse the day you bought a line 6. I know I did.

  • I use this withh a Marshall Jackhammer.Totally amazing!

  • lets hear some sweeps dammit

  • Wow, this pedal actually sounds really good...I didn't expect that!

  • is there true bypass?

  • haha

  • His last name is Batio pronounced like Radio, just an FYI dude...

  • what it's the firs riff song play it on this video?any help thank's :)

  • @avispasentuass, I'm Runnin Free by Iron Maiden....sort of.

  • I personally saw Mab having these 2 pedals , i was standing where he played. The settings were like this, gain and level maxed, tone at something like 11 o'clock. He used the mab od, a t rex digital delay, and a Marshall DSL 2000 on the crunch channel with little gain from the head. The sound was FAR better than the sound on his albums, where he uses all kind of rack crap. Very good pedal!

  • @skarbu Batio is better live in general.

  • I will give it its really clean, but has that been what MAB has been going for over these years, i don't think so...

  • can you use this pedal as a boost ? because it's awesome , for cleaner stuff.

and i wanna know if you can use this pedal as a boost???

    thankss

  • @bjornkipcorn

It was conceived to be a boost actually : it's sounds amazing in front of an already overdriven, crunched tube amp ! Every note is articulate, and even at high settings your sound never gets muddy , and the particularity of this pedal , is its boosted midrange. I'm definitely no MAB fan, but i have to say this OD is really a good one.

  • Sounds real clear without getting muddy

  • hey guys you know whats cool the first ten seconds when hes talking i know before he woulod say them^^

  • I'd like to hear some flying riffs like Mike actually plays...

  • i think george lynch uses this pedal

    am i wrong?

  • lol, wrong. He actually pronounced it correctly unlike most people. Clearly what you think is correct is dead wrong.

  • Where is Batio's DRIVE!?

  • hehehehehe

  • It's only a warming pedal, if you speak about full sound of MAB, then you are making mistake, when you think, that it's pedal "all in one device".

  • Really? I pronounce it Bitch-you-ho.

Hm. Sounds like an irrelevant, superfluous critique to me.

  • very nice

  • it is quite different from what it actually sounds ..I think it is the guitar.. not the pedal.

  • hmmm i'm wanting a little more gain/distortion for a heavier sound.

I really love tremonti's tone but will I be able to push that through this, even though I know he uses it.

  • @Harrysound Tremonti uses the OD setting on his dual rectifier, and throws this on top to really push it

  • I think Tremonti uses a Triple Rectifer not a Dual XD

  • @mustangcobain65 yeah its a triple rec

  • @bjfx123 Yes I know, I was just reminding that guy. I should of said I KNOW Tremonti uses a Triple Rectifier not a Dual lol

  • Mark Tremonti from Creed uses the MAB Over Drive. George Lynch had it in his set up. It is a great sounding pedal and is one of T-Rex's top sellers..

  • Comment removed

  • good 5*****

  • what does "soho" mean when he says he plugs into the amp soho?

    Makes no sense to me!

  • It's the model name. Google "65 Amps".

  • its the name of the amp lol...company = 65 amps amps name = soho ... 65 amps, soho

  • its the model of the amp. the '65 Amps Soho'

  • I think all the review by proguitarshopdemos are useless for me because the amp used in all review is an amp that hide the color of the pedals, only satured the signal but all the pedals, not all, seem equal. One suggest: change amp.

    Sorry for the english.

  • this sucks ,...they always play fucking chords, they never play some leads . its not the same to judge a overdrive listening chords, than leads

  • To the contrary, PGS plays plenty of leads, but not just leads. Demo guys that only play leads tend to show off the player, not the pedal. (Johnny DiMarco from Boss and Jason Spencer from World Music Supply, for instance.) PGS plays leads and rhythms, so they show off the capabilities of the pedal in full, which is also a huge benefit for people in a band.

  • good review if you want more of a bluesy overdrive but not if what you're looking for is PURE MAB SHREDDING

  • I kind of wish I did live in a bucket now.

  • this pedal is better than MAB.

  • 43,000 views exactly

  • perfect for back in black

  • this pedal is sweet. i might get this one day and replace it with my BOSS Super Overdrive, but thats good too, but i like tone of this one better :)

i recently bought MABS Pickups and i cant wait to install thems :] on my ibanez.

  • this pedal looks awesome but i kinda dont want it because MAB is an asshole

  • ROFL why..i never met MAB..but he seems nice...

  • exactly

  • Your loss mate

  • LOL what he do?

  • dude hes so nice, he gave a clinic in my town, never bashed another band and was really friendly

  • yea and he is so cheesy and lame and cant make songs for shit

  • 3: 20 crazy train sweet pedal

  • not for me this pedal lol i wouldnt mind to try a boss or summin at the mo iv got a Zoom g2

  • this particular overdrive is great for a whole range of genres. but the main idea is for it to be used as a boost for tube amps. it's similar to the use of an Ibanez TS-9 that many people use on their high gain amps.

  • I have one and it doesn't seem to be a true-bypass. When the power supply is disconnected the sound does not come through the output. Why is that?

  • you have to turnt it off with the power supply disconected... maybe it has internal buffers

  • I would love to have a schematic of this pedal.....Any pedal freak out there??Or someone that can do one by opening the pedal.Tnx! Amazing tone

  • i have this pedal and i must say : when u want max distortion only with this pedal then dont buy it. But when u have amp with volume overdrive then MAB has greatest tone i've ever heard. And i have 17 diferend pedals. For example Ibanez Tube King Sounds like shit accourding to MAB

  • ive heard wayyyyy better distortion than this

  • this isnt distortion...its overdrive

  • whats it called then?

  • when i was thinking about getting one, i was worried that it wouldnt be high gain enough. then i got it and turned some drive on. it gets the tone that you hear when michael plays.

    its worth it.

  • it would help if he didn't just play chords.

    16nps run please.

  • If you listen past the first three seconds of the video, you'd see that he's not just playing chords.

  • This doesn't sound like MAB

  • cause mab probably uses it to boost his amp, not for direct distortion like on the vid

  • to some people, thats a good thing.... i think it sounds great

  • it's probably designed to boost an already driven all-tube head. that's how he gets his sound.

  • how much?

  • One.

  • another ts808 version?

  • Hey does anyone know why that in this video it dosnt sound very high gain? But it really does on his songs...

  • most people use drive pedals as a boost to their amp drives :)

  • this isnt the only pedal he uses ever

  • He turns the volume on his amplifier up so it naturally distorts and complements the amp's distortion with it

  • that is only good if the amp is a tube amp ...solid state just sound crappier with the volume raised

  • sad but true

  • YEAH \m/... (u were referencing to metallica right?)

  • nice sound ^^

  • omg at :01 you can see my guitar on the far left!

  • Great, clear overdrive. Nice !

  • thats probably the coolest signature ever

  • Micheal Batio is absolutely unreal!!

  • His hair is unreal ;)

  • this pedal is a clasic

  • The Møller pedal is way better than mabs!!!

  • this pedal really gives Lucid Intervals and Moments of Clarity.

  • If I ever get a pedalboard this will be my permanent set:

    Guitar: Dean Hardtail Select

    Amplifier: Line 6 Spider 3 75 Watts

Distortion Pedal: T-Rex MAB Overdrive, EVH Flanger, Ibanez Weeping Demon Pedal, Digitech Whammy Pedal

    Now that'd be a 4/5 cool set

  • why would you want a line 6 spider , get a good amp

  • yeah, seriosly, if you're gonna spend that much money

  • @jimblethegreat stop reminding me that i have a shitty amp :'(

  • @DYOLFMOT Lol I'd say

  • @jimblethegreat any good guitar player can make any amp sound good in my opinion fender tube amps are the best

  • First part sounds like Eric Johnson lol. Should of actually got MAB to demo it might of got a better idea of what his runs sound like on it. I've just ordered one of these =D

  • sounds really good

but i dont think is the sound of MAB xD

  • put it in front of a tube amp and im sure you'll hear a big difference =)

  • oohhh...so its bassically a very very clear distortion pedal???

  • overdrive, not distorion

overdrive is clearer than distortion, and especially smoother from default

  • ok, i'm no where NEAR a seasoned guitarist, ive only been playing since about christmas, when i got my guitar, what exactly does the overdrive pedal do??? plz don't critisize to noob

  • Overdrive is the effect that was originally achieved by turning up a tube amplifier until the power amp lost head room and began to 'distort'. Pedals allow us to get this kind of tone at reasonable volume! Overdrive comes in lots of flavours but in general suits blues/jazz, rock'n'roll. pop etc. If rock/metal is more your bag, you might be better off with a distortion pedal. Hope this helps! x

  • the overdrive pedal..gives the guitar a distorted sound

  • Best overdrive I think I've heard

  • As simple overdrive - this is perfect. But where is the killing Michael Angelo shred tone?

  • MAB uses it through a high gain amp, so my best guess is that he uses it to tighten and clarify the sound. Sounds hi-fi enough to be used for that.

  • MAB's Basic setup is with this overdrive, and an T-rex Replica digital delay pedal... and through his Hi gain amp

  • 160€

  • crazy, but thats how it goooeess...

very nice pedal, i wish i had money to get one =(...

  • reminds me a lot of the Sparkle Drive because you hear a clean signal along with the overdrive. Sounds really Hi-Fi!

  • sounds surprisingly decent

  • Yes! You don't have to be ambidextrous to appreciate a good dynamic overdrive! It's one of those pedals that accentuates every tiny nuance.

  • lol

  • I did not hear one single bad sound from this one... Nice! :)

  • how much is this pedal??

  • $200!
