  • Out of the water before second place finishes...

  • Born in the USA

  • im not american but all i can say, is that USA is an amazing country im in love with it so much that i moved here.. the race against this french trolls was just too great for me.. i support USAteam in the olympics all the time in any category

  • And obese.

  • lochte!

  • The Americans deserve the Title 'Greatest Swimming Nation". Other countries are simply jealous. I am glad that the U.S. is the world's superpower now. Americans are wonderful people.

  • U.S was probably the world superpower ever since the cold war.

  • micheal phelps = a shark straight domination

  • lol id guess his half fish half human in disguise lol

  • God bless the red white and blue!

  • michael phelps? you dont like his stroke?? its beast and you get more power by doing it like that or at least he does

  • USA won by what......12 seconds? LOLZ!!!! complete pwnage!!!

  • 12 seconds.. are you dumb? or smething... 1:03

  • i dot really like how he swims freestyle :S

  • i'm with you there it could look better but i guess it works for him so......

  • yeah he breathes every single stroke but he is faster than hell

  • we'll see

  • they shud call the fastest dolphin ever a phelps dolphin

  • look at vanderkaay at 1:14

  • ha ha... nice...

  • lol

  • fuck all america haters :) sorry we rock!

  • he should be called Phelps the dolphin!

  • America sure is one of the best countries in sport, that's only because you spend more money for it.And I'm a national level swimmer and studying sport so shut up!!!

  • The US does not have a government-sponsored national sport program. All of our national teams are run by non-profit organizations with funding from commercial sponsors and individual donations.

  • sooo your point isss???

  • America is the greatest country on the face of the Earth and I can say that cuz I have been to 24 other countries, everyone else can go suck a dick! I love the USA!USA!USA!

  • Another jealous hater. Why does everyone else in the world leave everything they know and grew up with to come here? Get real you fuckin douchebag.

  • Never, never diss America u moron

  • or what you fuckin bitch

  • ur a hardass

  • piss off

  • haha! looks like your sucking his dick :D

  • is that why we win three times more medals than your country....also, is that why u lost this race? get a life, instead of insulting america while using an american website owned by google

  • i agree with you. i am not american but i find it irritating when people put americans down because americans show they are the best in what they do. they are just jealous.

  • omg thank you. finally someone understands our frustrations as americans. we get put down for some much stuff that either has nothing to do with anythign or is just relative hatred. I'll have you know that we(americans) greatly appreciate your words sincerely and wish more people think the way you do. all this hatred is so frivelous why can't everyone just be friendly and love each other for the fact that we are all human beings no matter what country race religion or creed we represent B)

  • America is nit the best at the Olympics and never has been. You can't count all the medals and then claim to be better? If you compare the results of 307 million people with countries that have less than 1/10 of that, then you clearly suffer from a major inferiority complex lol

  • i agree and im australian America is the greatest swimming nation in the world

  • YES!!!! HAHA!!!! Go USA Swimming!

  • Canada never won less medals than the USA, because the only fair comparison is a comparison of medals per capita. If you however prefer to compare 307 million people with 34 million then you clearly suffer from a major inferiority complex lol

  • @cypbq thats an unfair and a logically flawed comparison because the ratio medal to people is invalid - each country sends the same amount of olympic competitors to an event.

If you are claiming their population is smaller, therefore theres less eligible people for the olympics then you are mistaken.

  • @RimfireOmega but people from say Australia have many many many fewer people to choose their olympic team for, so there might be say only 500,000 people (just pulling that number out of nowhere) competitive swimmers at all ages in Australia, whereas America or another country with a greater populattion might have 7-8 million.

  • @Niiiiization you yourself say the numbers you make up are exactly that, made up.

your assumptions are just theory and observations do not create correlation or causation.

I will accept that their are certain inequalities such as funding in certain area of sports. (most nations opt to focus in several certain games that they can do well in) and etc. The implications of what you say suggest that the medals of certain people are worth-less if you are from America.

  • just to b on the record many american atheletes volunteered to take xtra drug tests(more than the average olympian) Micheal Phelps bein 1 of them

  • Michael Phelps is FREAKING AMAZING!!! He's magic! GO PHELPS!

  • yanks are not the steriod users, when i watched the tour this year not a single one was caught doping while the italians and spanish had quite a few

  • wrong, wrong, wrong. In swimming, the medium you're in requires you to use your arms AND legs to propel you forward. In track however, the main way of propelling oneself forward is 99% through your feet. I'll admit Jamaica produces amazing athletes, but dismissing an athlete because of some others from their country use steroids is not only ignorant, but also completely wrong. Go Phelps. Go USA.

  • lol phelps makes America care about swimming cause lets be honest we didnt lol go phelps go u.s.a.

  • He just puts the others to shame; sorry to say.

  • Phelps make see the other competitors like rookies, AMAZING!!!

  • i love being an american (:

  • i love being an american 2!!! this girl on here from aust. was givin us crap!!!! we rock!!!

  • Micheal Phelps is a freakin MACHINE! He's the best swimmer out there and can't be stopped.

  • If you read the description, this is not the olympics. Pat2rome is correct with this being Melbourne 2007.

  • not the olympics, time for that was 6:58

  • Absolutely amazing relay. This is what the Olympics are all about.

  • Actually, I think this is Melbourne 2007. They kicked the CRAP out of this record at the Olympics.

  • I was looking for the video of the realy where leezak won with phelps and garret (or whatever his name was) and the other guy in the relay raze where they barely beat australia...

  • yeah me too. tell me if you've found it.

  • Hooray, still haven't found it. :D

  • The US and Australia are great allies with much, much more in common than not (you post-colonial guys actually smile for example). Stop being idiots and grow up. You'd probably both be getting blitzed on holiday together if you weren't busy whining about swimming here on the internet. Either way, you types are in the minority -- the stupid, provincial one. Go travel and see which 'foreigners' you end up having a laugh with most of the time.

  • Holy Lochte! Imagine if France was the one who beat the US relay team 0.008 seconds or less! Congrats USA! USA! USA! (for me... my home team really sucks. guess i've to wait until rowing or diving...)

By the way, Phelps may be in a little jeopardy for the 200m freestyle. His own countryman VanDerkaay was 1st, and Korean Park Taehwan, who've already won Gold in 400m freestyle, was 2nd. Of course, he swam it just before the gold medal-winning relay, but who knows...

  • hmmm australia was almost close...

  • PHELPS!!! :D

  • Phelps is the man!

  • hell yeah!

  • kicks our ass? Australia population :20million

    USA:300million

give us 300 million people and we would win every sport imaginable

    OH ITS TRUE

  • an example where that's not true: China with 1.3 billion.

  • stop being a baby.

  • first off, if that was true then China would have WAY more golds than us. If Australia was a good enough place to be then the population would be higher

  • So you're saying how "good" a place is has to do with the population. I guess by your definition China and India are much better than the u.s. Pristine logic man. Pristine.

  • Good job putting words in my mouth... The US is a great place to be, thats why people move here. We have more immigrants (legal) in our country than your whole nation. Hence, our population is high because people want to be here, not down under

  • now watch as Michale Phelps gets more GOLD medals than your entire country combined

  • I'm from Nebraska dickhead.

  • we would give more people to australia, but the thing is the USA has quality, not quantity. that's why we kick china and india's asses all the time.

  • Australia has more quality than USA if you compare the populations.

  • Austrailia? The penal colony turned country? That Australia?

  • Then what can be said about China?

  • USA DOMINATES RIGHT!!!!!

  • US pretty much kicks aussie ass

  • does anyone here have the link of Michael's 200 m freestyle win in 2007 Melbourne games?

  • does anyone here have the link of Michael's 200 m freestyle win in 2007 Melbourne games?

  • but when America activates their beast mode, it's game over.

  • lmfao. haha so true phelps, lochte together? dominicence much?

  • its so funny how he's out of the pool before 2ND place gets there..sorry aussies..but thats domination.

  • Does anyone know if a Mike McWha swims there?I know he swam the advent before, but I'm sure if he's there. He's my swim coach right now. :)

  • does anyone know the splits?

  • Phelps 1.45.36/ Ryan Lochte 1.45.86/ Klete Keller 1.46.31/ Peter Vandekaay 1.45.71.

  • Hm, so leading off phelps was 1.5 off his indiv. 200 time 1:43.8 that must have been some race

  • eat that Australia, hahaha! Now who's playing the guitar?

  • i want to be a big swimmer

  • i thought a swimmer can't leave the pool before the rest finishes

  • why cant he? :)

  • Yes they can. It's not considered the best etiquette but it's not against the rules. It almost never happens in individual races but happens now and again in relays. You just have to make sure that you don't re-enter the water again before all competitors are finished.

  • dude, phelps is a superfish. madness, huh? Makes me, as an Aussie, very humble, he's awesome. GO PHELPSIE!!! lol, how aussie.

  • are they wearing the fs pro suits at this meet? because it looks like they are wearing the fs II. and damn thats amazing.

  • They were wearing the Fastskin FSII.

  • One of my friends was at the meet but ya they wore FS II for that relay but for the other events a lot of the the speedo swimmers wore the FS PRO

  • crazy how much they beat the field by
