  • no modern jazz performer can swing like Diana Krall

  • @sydc2020 haha...

  • Smokin'

  • KRALL ALL THE WAY. good jivin!

  • john clayton...deep, deep groove on every tune. and a most joyful inspiration to the young jazz musicians he mentors.

  • ..... You Go Girl, You go....

  • 2:50

Learn from Diana Krall- when you're stuck during improvising, pop in some diminished sevenths and it'll be all good.

  • Sensual, talentosa, hermosa me gusta mucho, ha de tener una bonita conversación y tomarse un trago con ella ha de ser fabuloso. Su risa es provocadora

  • Absolute MAGIC!! This combo SWINGS!

as an aside .. anyone notice a Presley gene in her looks? lol :p

  • The BEST jazz combo that has been put together over the last century. Diana Krall, Jeff Hamilton, John Clayton, Anthony Wilson! It jsut doesn't get any better then this folks.

  • 1st time I heard Diana Krall was in a college Music Appreciation class (shout out to LSU!).... I went right out and purchased this CD and have been a fan ever since.... Plan on having her sing me down the aisle for my wedding... if I can touch base with her booking agent... I'm soooooo serious... if anyone know how PLEASE tell me! :)

  • funny how refreshing these old songs become in the hands of the very capable Diana Krall. What a breath of artistic fresh air in a somewhat stale world of contrived pop. She is wonderful.

  • This whole concert DVD is top notch. Love it.

  • Diana Krall - Piano and Vocals, Anthony Wilson - Guitar, John Clayton - Bass, Jeff Hamilton - Drums. What you are listening to is in my opinion the best jazz combo put together in the last 40 years.

  • @FlyingGuySFO : in the DVD, she talks about being in high school and listening to Clayton/Hamilton recordings .. 20 years later, they are in her band .. dang ..

  • I love Elvis Costello's wife!

  • 4:58 oehhhh!(L)

  • And that, boys and girls, is why I'm a Krallaholic!

  • Swing DIANA!!!! My sister!!!!

  • i love to see them playing with joy and fun!

  • I would like to dedicate this song to my first grandchild. The power, the beauty, the voice, the rythm. Just like my Nina. :-)

  • now THIS is music!!!

  • jeff is such a beast. i would give anything to take a lesson from him one day.

  • you and me, both, my friend. i've tried to copy some of his technique. and i have to admit, i cannot do it. he is one of the best in the world

  • Diana Krall must feel like she's on top of the world. So beautiful, talented and successful. I love her!

  • It's both a blessing and a tragedy that jazz has become a marginalized music form. The tragedy is in the fact that the jazz world has many many great guitarists - as well as other instrumentalists - who nobody has heard of outside of the regulars at the clubs they play at.

The blessing is that, since there's no big money in playing jazz except for a very few, those who play it do so out of shear love.

  • I don't know the guitarman name .. but he's just great pretty nice video

  • Anthony Wilson. Great.

John Clayton on bass -- UCLA music college professor.

Jeff Hamilton on drums -- JC's longtime ally.

  • Anthony Wilson on guitar

  • AMAZING!! really I love her!!

  • That GeeTar player reminds me of Kessel......

  • I have chills. She is so divine.

  • elle est belle mais pas aussi que toi ma kro

  • Yes, she is that. I teach culture anthropology and often play tunes for my classes and this is one that I play often.

  • oooh she is good

  • géant!!!!!!!!

  • Did u recognize "Jean-Pierre" in Diana's Improvisation (2nd chorus i think) ...love her playin...

  • I'd make the sweetest love to her, ever, if she's into me!

    love it!!

  • This is one of my Diana Krall favorites ... thanks for sharing this.

  • yeah.. she made a great job with this peggy lee's song

  • I Simply Love Her!

  • What a great talent! My kind of jazz!

Piano playing reminds me of Schering!

  • É o melhor de todos !!!

  • You have wonderful hair!!!!! xxX

  • Diana Krall--if you watch her enough you can get through the sexy looks to the true talent she is. A PBS interview with her shows she is unassuming, self-assured, and down right earthy. Krall is a welcome relief from all these manufactured pop divas that use machines to remove any art from the music idiom. And unlike most of the artificial pop stars, her sexiness just comes though in a subtle manner without her having to show and T & A. Good for Diana. I'll have to get this DVD!

  • Totally agree. And don't the crew around her. Yowza!!

  • i'd hit that

  • @joeb434 You are exactly right. Diana Krall is the real deal. And her piano playing will knock you out.

  • What a beautiful Song !!! Great !!!

  • I love Diana Krall ♥

  • Ich will ein Kind von dir!!!

  • They are married as far as I know ;)

  • I thought that exact same thought scrolled down and saw your post...lol well, it's true. She is!!!

  • she is married to Costello....lets hope he keeps her well sated!!

  • She is just simply amazing. I would love to see her live. :)

  • yeaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Music soothes the savage beast and so does a Beautiful woman like Krall

  • C'est du pur bonheur, et de l'énergie en main, bravo!

  • I have just heard an hour-long interview of her on CBC Radio 1, Montreal Time. Needless to say, she is as delightful and charming as ever. :-)

  • It looks like Elvis and Frank have come back to us as a beautiful and tremendously talented woman!

  • All I can say is, I wish I'd known about this talented artist long ago. Diana puts all the pop princesses to shame with her genuine talent, plus she's just so damn attractive!

  • oh my God..just AMAZING. If I could play piano like her I could die happy. One of my favorite songs by her too.

  • diana is cute...

  • This LADY, who shares the same last name as mine, is incredibly awsome. She "swings" as hard as any piano player that I have ever worked with in my life. Her singing is a by-product of her YEARS of learning to "swing" Yes, she was born with a voice that was complimentary to her hard earned piano and jazz accomplishment. Genetics gave her the vocal "sound" and the the appeal that she has. She spent alot of time developing all of the rest. She has prevailed.

  • EarDoc40 your comment says it all. Even the late great Oscar Peterson spoke very highly of Ms Krall.

  • John Clayton and Jeff Hamilton are the best rhythm section in contemporary jazz, like Joe Jones and Walter Page in the day.......

  • I fucking love that bass solo! ahh orgasm

  • Is it me or does she look like Elvis? (Presley, I mean)

  • No ...and No ...No, she doesn't really look like Elvis ...But, no it isn't you ...What I think you mean is there is something she does, at times, with the left side of her mouth up-turning that is exactly like what Elvis did ...Stop the video at 5:01 and you'll see what I'm referring to ...Good catch on your part, my friend.

    Cheers...

  • Yes, she does. I never saw that it until you mentioned it. I can see it in her eyes and also in the her confidence.

  • Makes my Day........

  • Once again, sorry. I'll answer my own question from my previous post. The phenomenal drummer is Jeff Hamilton. Just can't win for losing!

  • Sorry, jazzmanjm, I defer to your greater jazz knowledge. I can't distinguish between their sounds & they are both handsome gentleman. In the future, I'll keep my comments limited to things I know about. Thanks, anyway, for educating me.

By the way, who is that genius on drums?

  • The guitarist is the very capable Anthony Wilson w/ Robert Hurst on bass. SMOOTH! And Jeff Hamilton ain't shabby.
