Ok here the prob....I have a cable modem, Xbox 360, and an ethrenet cable. My modem has a USB port ,ethrenet port, and power port. I have road runner. I have a blue USB Internet wire and an ethrent internet wire but my internet doesn't work when i just use the USB. My Internet only works if I have the Ethrenet in. What do I do. Do you mind buying an Xbox WIFI adapter ?

How far is your Xbox from your router ?

Wouldn't you lose internet connection if you removed the cable line from the modem? Cause I tried that with my modem and I connected the cable line from the back of my TV to the modem and set everything up, but when I test the Xbox LIVE connection it doesn't recieve the IP address.  Please Help!!

maayyyybee hook the cable line from the wall (that usually goes into your tv for viewing cable that you're going to play xbox on) and hook it to the modem, and hook the ethernet from the modem to the xbox. so its from the wall then to the modem then xbox, which should hook you up.

It won't work like that. You need to buy the wireless adapter. Since the Xbox is a device that can connect to the internet, it needs it's own IP and can't be connected through a computer. You can get a cheap wireless adapter on Amazon.
