It's really difficult to explain; there is a book called "Whan Dan Go Gi" and it contains something like that. And as in Korea, most people do not believe in that, you shouldn't think that way. And, if you've really met any of Korean person, you may smelled the odor of doenjang instead of dog meat(well, Korean people do not eat dog meat much these days - and I never heard of seen any people eating cats), because boshintang - which is the only way Korean people eat dog meat - includes doenjang and it has much sensational odor.

When Korea belonged to China in 10c - 20c, they stopped growing up their culture & technology and steel them from China. Korea was affected by Chinese strongly.
And, when Korea belonged to Japan before WWII, Japanese started to grow up Korean culture & lifestanding, and brought from Japan to Korea. (ie. building, food, martial art)

Japanese people are racist! If you're White and you're American and European, take advantage of the 'inferiority complex' you'll get from most Japanese. But when the ugly side of Japan finally shows its face, the bank loans you won't get, the rental apartments that are Japanese only, those are a small price to pay for the much harsher treatment most non Japanese Asians get in Japan, even if they pay taxes, and were born in the country and even love Japan like my friend.
