@390merc65 - Yeah, I know what you mean. A buddy of mine has an '87 Toyota pickup and is considered "ancient". I drive a '68 Cougar and is considered a classic. I've seen more Cougars on the road over older Toyota trucks. It's all about sales and marketing. The Jap companies just want to keep pumping their shit out in droves.
dont be silly my 78 bronco had 320k miles on it , and for 8100 dollars and 29 yrs latter i did good , attention to detail in mantinace is everything. my 60 squarebird " still here" is comparable to this car here and somehow i like the idea that i don't have to remove the headlights every 2 or 3 years to "buff" the plastic out. or replace the plastic clips that break. true no air bags but the car will take a hard hit thou.. 390ci supercharged /ac /disk brakes /conv..
What the big problem is today is not Toyota or Honda, because they are building cars in the United states, its what your viewing this video on, its the keyboards you type with, the clothing you wear, the shoes your wear, the stuff in your home, even the food you eat.. ITS ALL MADE IN CHINA. The car is a small problem, The big problem is we buy all of our stuff from China, ITS OUR FAULT. WE accept this stuff and dont buy the US made stuff. Dont blame the Gov, Blame your self. Money talks!
They just "ASSEMBLE" those cars here if they make me here show me the engine plant. and the americans that work there.. show me trim/and seating plants and finally the metal stamp plants ??? the truth is none of it is made here any bodt can plug in a instrament pannel plug sand say it was MADE here
What Honda, Toyota and other foreign car companies did was expose the marketing and building ideas GM, Ford and Dodge had for years. Once that happened, you can only keep a like going so far. The other problem was and still is how the big 3 are dumping american workers for cheap labor in mexico and other areas. Dodge went to mexico in the mid 70s to make cars, Shame on them. And did you know today Toyota employees 29,000 US american factory workers?? While GM ford and dodge lay them off.
stupid poeple taking quality products and turning them into the crap made today no wonder our economy sucks we make cars with more wing than the space shuttle and are as ugly as a foriegn car weres our separation for other cars everthing in this world in unity everyone think the same do the same feel the same no wonder our countrymen want to start a revolution and take our goverment apart bothing make us different from someone else anymore
