Have you ever drag raced before?? Things happen so fast that you hardly have a chance to react to anything that's coming at you sideways by the time you barely cross the 60'. These cars accelerate at a VERY high rate, and instantly slamming the breaks after a launch isn't as automatic as your ignorant brain would think...
