  • I'd support any company that uses Linux to power their gadgets, and then open sources their code.

I wish TomTom would stay more open source..

  • All TOM TOM doesn't have auto power start or auto music start...this means u have to manually turn the unit on everytime u start the igniton...this can be annoying when u have to make short stops...

  • the best gps unit i've ever had

  • Have you looked at the newer ones like the 130S or 330S? They keep getting better and smaller

  • did you can dowload maps for free

  • with the new devices you get a latest map guarantee- if updated maps come out within one month after your activation of the unit, you get to upgrade for free

  • Tomtom hijacked the open source community. They sneaky put Linux their machines. It took a lot to accept the principles of Open Source. Still you cannot do what you want with it, like Vista. 1000's of people would give an arm if they could make programs for it. Some do. But it still isn't allowed. Why is there TT Home then? Without it you can't do ANYTHING. And you need their FUCKING account. I use Linux on my desk/laptop. But there is no Home for it?! They're afraid someone hacks it.
  • i cant download music or pictures can u help me???

  • @ 2131400

Do you want to put pictures or music on your Tomtom?

Look on yournav(dot)com for help from other users.

    They are the real experts.

  • THANKS BUDDY IT IS A GREAT SITE!

  • its a great gps...open source mapshare is prety cool....tomtom plus is also a great service, i love the real time traffice details

  • thng i hate about tomtom is in postcode mode it only lets you enter the first three parts of the code and the other half you just tap the street. Copilot allows you to enter the full postcode

  • i use a GO 720, and it's been great to me. the mapshare feature is clutch.. the corrections from other users definitely ensures everything is more accurate.

  • i had it as an testmodel last year. nice to have it while it is not ion the market yet XD

    just bought an one XL

  • I tottaly agree with icke on these issues. I mean the fact that everybody is given names that millions of other people have is meaningless. Even our names are just used to control us for identification purphouses by the controllers

  • I just bought a tomtom go 720 I can even download any musicdirectly from the pc or using a memory card can someone explain to me how to do it? thank you

  • @ 2131400

The music should be put in a specific directory on the SD-card.

Was it 'MP3' or something like that?

  • Tomtom has more options, I believe its easier to use, and it has mapshare (it just go its 1 millionth map corrections this week) oh and free updates from map share are free! Can't get that from garmin

  • might just b me but i think garmin is easier to use

  • There isn't a subscription cost for the downlandable free map corrections. Key word here is free...the program is called "mapshare", its an opensource program that other users update and free for you to use and download to the go 720. pretty cool program.

  • What I wanna know is if there is a subscription cost for the downloadable free map corrections. The older model garmin that I have offers one free update per year I believe, but it doesn't have periodical updates.

  • full HTML browser does it have things like javascript and flash can you go on youtube on this thing

  • i love mine :D

  • sweeeeet
