I absolutely love the fact that in those days the enfasis was on the meaning of the words. Of course this drove the tempos to slow down, but the effect is still beautiful.

Tadeo's German is not very good. He makes spelling mistakes. BUT BUT BUT....His singing and legatp are just wonderful. A very deep voice too!!!

I think you are referring to his pronounciation, not spelling. You can't tell how well the man wrote in German by watching him sing.

As a guess this performance might have been around 1960 or in the late 50's when Tadeo was perhaps 30 or even younger. Anyone know the details? also why is a basso as good as Tadeo not far far better known?
