3% of the Greece GDP comes from direct EU aid to Greece, i.e. other EU member states pay Greece. And let's not forget that Greece lied and cheated to get the Euro in the first place. Thank goodness Angela Merkel has blocked all requests of bailout.
Noone in Germany wants Germany to pay except for the Government which insist on supporting the EU. The EU will come unglued or Germanys wealth must suffer. We need to borrow Merkel to replace Peloisi in the US. We promise to return her as soon as she undoes the bailout.

Economically it would be simple - Cut military spending to an Army out of proportion to the size of the country (11 million people and the fourth largest army in Europe), and cut top heavy public service. Therein lies a political problem - efficiency isn't really the Greek way and social cleavages in the military and the public service will put up a fight. ND tried to make reforms, but failed in this regard.
