  • The Best Album From Queen

  • Did Queen made this disc called "Jazz" and wrote 5 times "Queen", like a tribute to Charles mingus(jazzist) album(1963) called "Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus"? am i right? (just asking)

  • watch?v=3kll08iiVlA

  • وإذا الجحيم هناك (مؤمن حقيقي) هل سيكون واحد الذي هو ذاهب الى هناك لحرق في الأزل.

  • AWESOME!!! I REMEMBER THIS FROM CHILDHOOD ON MOTHERS STEREO SYSTEM!!! AWESOME GREAT!!!

  • is this even in english

  • When I first bought this album I put it on my discman when I was just going to bed. Lights off, headphones, closed my eyes. This track is mixed really soft at the beginning so I thought it was just a bad master job and turned it up...THEN BOOM, blasted the fucking shit out of my ears...loved every second of it, will never forget it either. Absolutely brilliant.

  • Best Queen album in my opinion, and one of the most creative songs.

  • @InTheFaceOfJesus I'm sorry i agree with Dave Marsh. Jazz is quite a flop musically, still not quite as bad as Hot Space. Now THAT album sucks.

  • @94shauns try the FLASH GORDON soundtrack

then there is PUT OUT THE FIRE!!!

  • @xuphoriaa if hell is there (it's not thou) you would be the one who is gonna burn in there...

  • what a disgrace to the Zoroastrianism religion this guy is, hes Arabic/Persian/Indian decent.

  • brian may... muito foda

  • Rock the Casbah, baby.

  • THIS SONG IS HILARIOUS!! HAHAHAHA

  • I dont understand. can someone explain or tell me.. Is Queen are Muslim? why they made this islamic song? does this song has a story?

  • @sitinaima No, Queen are not muslim nor christian nor hindu, whatever, they're not a religious or political band as they stated many times. This song is Freddie's, he grew up with muslim people altough he was not a muslim, I heard this song is about one of his childhood friends who was muslim, hence the muslim tones and arabic language

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn This isn't Arabic...its Persian (Farisi)

  • @nashwa1nosha1smokey It's Farsi or Farisi together with Arabic and English, isn't it? Mysteryous song.

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn Its Farisi with English. I didn't hear any Arabic, and I'm a fluent speaker of it.

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn Freddie was Zoroastrian, wasn't he?

  • @KenoshiAkai Yep

  • @vesidude Thought so. And Zoroastrianism is the granddaddy of monotheistic religions. Judaism, Christianity and Islam all cribbed notes from Zoroaster.

  • good

  • Freddie is the miracle. Rock in every religion like he did it, it's awesome.

  • @brunectus if you said this before me, I thump you in such a way that does not recognize you, even your own mother

  • I love Queen ! LEGEND .. FROM GEORGIA

  • If it's possible for Freddie to call for prayer (adhan) here in Saudi, i bet a lot of expats would convert :D

  • Queen r Bristol on Dec 10th. FUCKING YES!!

  • WTF all you haters??? Just love this old music and get a life beyond your anger.

  • WTF??whats this someone explain this to me, im a muslim yes..

  • "Allah will pray for you" ?? Who will Allah pray to, isn't he supposed to be god

  • @indi600 dude it's a song dont try to find any logic in it...

  • @indi600 It's not "Allah will pray for you" it's "Allah we'll pray for you"

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn it's allah will pray for you

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn No buddy, it's "Allah will pray for you". That's why they didn't play live in front of muslim audiences.

  • @therion35 It's "we'll", why the fuck would the God pray for the people...use the brain that God gave you...

  • @wwerulestna IDIOT IT'S MUSIC

  • @wwerulestna I'll use the brain God gave me and fry that pathetic configuration you have the next time you talk to me like that. That's why they didn't play Mustapha in front of muslim audiences, just fucking go to wikipedia and get facts before talking so big. Teenagers this days...

  • @therion35 Go to Wikipedia to see it edited by you...yeah no. Freddie even sung live "Allah we'll pray for you"...and then followed with "like fuck we will"...proves the lyric.

  • @therion35 nah it's we'll

    u can check lyrics anywhere

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn I meant didn't play IT live, they played for muslim audiences many times I am sure.

  • @therion35 No they did not play for muslim audiences, at least not exclusively for muslim audiences, their music was even forbidden in Iran or Iraq...

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn some of their music is banned there indeed. but almost all europe music is! and the the thing about Queen is, that a great deal of their material is allowed. this is very unique. but your right about the fact that they made music for everybody.

    Queen forevermore!!!

  • @daanthekingofpaints Yes but what I was telling that person is that they never played of muslim audiences, they never did it did they? I'm almost sure.

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn * for

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn no your right about that! at least so far I know, but wat the hell Queen is just awesome and all their music!!

    cheers friend, Queen forevermore!!!

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn Ah, go figure, that's sad, everybody deserves Queen.

  • @therion35 It really is "Allah we'll pray for you". Queen would only play the intro to this song as a replacement to Boh Rhap's intro in concert. They never played for muslim audiences, trust me. Yeah it is sad, life without Queen....

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn Does anyone have the album with the lyrics booklet in it nearby? I have it but not nearby :P

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn There's an obvious difference in how we'll and will sound, and it's definitely 'will pray for you' in the song.

  • @indi600 Theres no God sry

  • @ManBearBg If ManBearPig says it well then it must be true.

  • Worse song EVER by Queen!!!!

  • mustapha ibrahim al havra kris vanin, a la la la la prey for youuuuu!

  • @poemarshall9 Religion wise Zanzibar is part of the modern country of Tanzania and is mostly Islamic. Being in East Africa it does have a sizeable Christian minority and being a former British colony it has small but numerous religious minorities from other former colonies. Freddie himself was ethnically Persian and his parents practised Zoroastrianism.

  • @MsMoneySterling It's my running music =)

  • this isnt a bad track, it fits in with past queen tracks, it especially sounds like something from the queen II period, but as an album opener it is a bit of an oddball considering the wealth of strong tracks on this album. shouldve opened with bicycle race, fat bottom girls or dont stop me now, and buried this one somewhere in the middle. great album nonetheless, better than a day at the races.

  • This is the only Queen song that I don't like that much, but I'll never ever press the dislike button... Becouse this is Queen - its beautiful song... but not my taste...

    Anyway... Queen forever!

  • I think this song was written by Brian May, not Freddie Mercury.

  • @Robean15 it was written by Freddie

  • @4everMTH Ok.

  • it wasnt his real name guys, -.- his real name was Farookh Bulsara

  • era la sigla di mustapha del duomo di milano negli anni 80'!!!

  • I don't know why I loved this song, but I did.

  • Şakirt Detected! :D

  • whats the message of the song? and please no very obvious explanation that they will pray for Mustafa Ibrahim. Whats the back story? Whats the purpose of the song?

  • Comment removed

  • Freddie said that this song actually doesn't have a meaning. There are interpretations as to what the relevance of each line is, but if the writer himself says that the song has no meaning, that's the person that I'm personally going to believe.

If you want more information, type up a general wikipedia link and add "/wiki/Mustapha_(Queen_song)" to the end.

  • @CRBjeep

Just because half of it is not in English, doesn't mean the song doesn't contain real words. Go onto the link and read about the song.

  • @MsMoneySterling Yes, it contains "real" words. It is not in any "language" though. I appreciate you sharing the link and I will look, but as a rule; I take anything written on Wikipedia, with a grain of salt. And you would be wise to do the same ; )

  • @CRBjeep

The song contains two official languages (English and Arabic) (These are languages by the way, unless you haven't realised already.) There are also words which are speculated to come from the Parsi people.

Maybe you should look at the link before responding. I tend to check my facts before commenting on videos. You would be wise to do the same.

  • @MsMoneySterling Which words are Arabic?

  • @MsMoneySterling The words "Mustapha" and "Ibrahim" are Arabic. That's it. I already stated that in my previous reply. And Of course the line "Allah will pray for you" is obviously English. Those six words do not compromise half the song. He didn't even speak any language other than English. Any "meaning" to the rest of the song is pure speculation. It is just him scatting. If half of it is in fact Arabic, why can't anyone translate it? Arabic is still widely spoken. I'm sure someone out there

  • @MsMoneySterling EX-Mustapha Ibrahim, Mustapha Ibrahim

Allah, Allah, Allah will pray for you.

Mustapha Ibrahim, al havra kris vanin

Allah, Allah, Allah will pray for you.

    Mustapha, hey! Mustapha

Mustapha Ibrahim, Mustapha Ibrahim, hey! Now,lets re-cap. I understand fully that the chorus is actual English and Arabic words. That. Is. Not. What. I'm. Talking. About. Do you grasp that yet? I am questioning the VERSE,still with me? The verse is not English nor Arabic. Its him scatting. ¿comprender

  • 1. Are you seriously that stupid? I provided you with a link to stevehoffman.tv after.

    2. You seems to suffer from MASSIVE paranoia. Is Wikipedia out to get you?

    3. "Comment removed

    CRBjeep 3 days ago"

I guess Wikipedia must have deleted your comment...

    4. I particularly like the fact that you replied to yourself, stating that you were "uneducated in regards to music". Many laughs were had.

    5. You need to learn to be specific rather than making broad statements. You won't appear as dim witted...

  • @MsMoneySterling Yes, I suffer from 'massive paranoia' because I pointed out something that everyone knows. I deleted comments because I replied to you in several posts, then went back and put them all into one comment. Why do you keep calling names in such a sophomoric manner? Does it make you feel better about yourself? If so,fire away. I'm always glad to help the less fortunate. I am done with this. My point has been made and now you are just turning it into a personal matter

  • @MsMoneySterling That has nothing to do with the original subject. Continue posting your attempts at insulting me if it makes you feel good about yourself (you obviously need something to help you build some self esteem). You still have not answered my question, and that is answer enough,so I bid you adieu .

  • @MsMoneySterling In this great big world wide web is fluent in Arabic and would have translated it long ago.

You simply do not know what you are talking about.

  • @MsMoneySterling the phrase "Salaam Aleikum' Is a Muslim greeting used in many countries. Would you care to provide a link translating the rest of the song.,And not one based on speculation, but actual fact?

  • @CRBjeep

Yes, "Salaam Aleikum" IS ARABIC (السلام عليك)

    stevehoffman.tv/forums/archive/index.php/t-145490.html

There you go. Knock you Google illiterate socks off.

  • @MsMoneySterling I never said it wasn't. Where are the rest of the translations for the entire song? Am I correct in assuming you speak English? If so,we can both agree that the number of English words in the song are minimal. You claim it is comprised entirely of English and Arabic. Thus logic dictates that the bulk of the song is in Arabic, yet you still fail to supply links for the Arabic to English translation. I have looked and couldn't find any. Obviously they must exist as you seem to

  • @MsMoneySterling the "facts" of the whole matter. Please, enlighten the rest of us so that we can understand every word of the song.

  • @CRBjeep

Assumptions are a dangerous thing to make and yet you appear to make many of them. The known translations were provided in the link. I'm sorry if there were too many words for you to read.

Referring back to your original statement (which you seem keen to avoid), you clearly stated that the song didn't involve words from "any "language"". Are you truly that ignorant? What is must be like in the tiny head of yours..... One simply cannot fathom.

  • @MsMoneySterling No,I did point out that there are a few random lines that are actual words. Those are not what I am referring to as far as wanting translation. I already know that. You are the one avoiding what I am asking you to explain which is,aside from the few words that we all recognize and can agree are either English or Arabic (those words are not what I'm debating) where is the translation proving that the rest of the song is in fact, in Arabic (as I know it is not English)? It's a

  • @MsMoneySterling simple request as Arabic is not a dead nor uncommon language. You are trying to avoid providing us with what you claim to be fact by arguing semantics with me. Not going to work. Neither are your attempts to make yourself appear intelligent by trying to insulting mine. That is very self defeating,by the way. It just makes you look like the small minded one. I'm not trying insult anyone. I'm just asking for verification of these "facts" that only you seem privy to.

  • @CRBjeep

Are you being serious?? I have provided you with the link to the known translation of the song. I have told you this numerous times, yet your inability to admit that you were wrong is shocking. I particularly like how you went back and deleted your first posts, although I must say that your ignorance did not follow as it is still apparent in your continuing 'arguments' (if you can really call them that).

  • @MsMoneySterling No,you provided me with a link to wikipedia that was full of SPECULATION. Do you not realize that wikipedia is not a legitimate source of "fact"? Anybody can edit it to make it say what they think. Where is the Arabic to English translation of the verse? This is getting a little redundant.

  • @MsMoneySterling I don't recall deleting anything. If I did, whatever it was,was not because of you or this debate. You are wrong. If you are correct what does the verse mean in English? Simple question.

  • @CRBjeep I'm Arabic and this songs said pure religious phrase in Islam

and said "mustapha Ibrahim allah will pray for u" we say this phrase a lot in prayer "of course In Arabic"

and Ibrahim is the Name of a prophet we believe in just like we believe in "Jesus ,Moses,Mohammed as prophets from the god

-by the way- allah is the god in Arabic not name of the god is allh-

اللهم صل على المصطفى إبراهيم>>translation of this song written in Arabic|four words repeated over and over again|

  • @3b0d18 Thank you for your input. I genuinely mean that,no sarcasm. But I know that part is Arabic. I'm not denying that "Ibrahim,Mustapha, and Allah are actual Arabic words. They are repeated throughout as the chorus/refrain. I'm talking about the verse.

  • @CRBjeep Since you are obviously uneducated in regard to music, let me break it down for you. Every song is made up of individual parts. The title- name of the song. Title Placement- The repetitive use of the title, usually placed at the beginning or end of each verse. The verse- The part that is essentially telling the "story" of the song. The verse is what makes up the majority of the composition. The chorus- The repetitive and often the most memorable part of the song

  • @presvi There isn't one. It's not even real words. It's just scatting, a form of vocal improv mostly seen in jazz music. Regardless of what anyone says, this song is not in any "language" . Because of his Ethnicity, many people assume it to be some form of Arabic,Farsi,Urdu,or something along those lines. Freddie was born a British National as India and Tanzania were under British control at the time of his birth. He did not speak any language other than English. The song also has nothing to

  • @CRBjeep scatting makes the most sense since the album is titled, JAZZ. Isn't it fun trying to make a point in under 500 characters.

  • @presvi do with religion other than using the words "Allah" and "Ibrahim" . Freddie was NOT Muslim,he was of the Zoroastrian faith but not really a practicing member. I think the song just reflects some aspects of the cultures he grew up around as far as composition and style.

  • superb

  • Happy Birthday Freddie! Always in our thoughts good man!

  • Cesi a Slovaci esce nevjedu ako sa vola Freddie Mercury.

  • Sounds like this is a mock Muslim prayer.

  • @DontShakeItUp sounds like never heard of Freddie Mercury

  • @ArdaOzel Why?

  • @DontShakeItUp FM was zoroastrian

  • @apbtdobe He also sang songs about Jesus.

  • @DontShakeItUp No he's not...

  • Comment removed

  • @poemarshall9 zoroastrian

  • @poemarshall9 He was born in Zanzibar,Africa. He grew up in boarding school in India. His family are Parsi Indians. The Parsi are Persians who migrated to India from Persia(Iran) due to religious persecution. His nationality was 'British Indian' and ethnically he was Persian. He moved with his family to England at 17.

There you go. I think that about covers it. : )

  • @CRBjeep I thought he moved when he was 14 :/

  • @firestarter199515 You may be right. I have trouble remembering what happened to me when I was 17. lol.

  • @CRBjeep Haha lol

  • 1:23 = HOLY FUCK!!!!!! I almost went deaf

  • @firestarter199515

That's my favourite part of the song. I turn my headphones up super high just for that part. X)

  • Mustapha-it is my favourite from Jazz !

  • all nonsense. Roger said it often in interviews. Freddie was NOT religious! He did not believed in any god so I'm proud I'm an Atheist too.

  • @icetigerist

He wasn't an Atheist. He was a Zoroastrian.....

  • @MsMoneySterling

    Bawas FTW!

  • COMO LO QUIEREN MAS VERSATIL Y VARIADO ESTOS MUSICOS HACIAN ROCK CON CUALQUIER RITMO ,

  • English motherfuckers, do you speak it?

  • i'm muslim and i'd be honored to know if Mercury was muslim.

  • @cbaGAGA No, his family were Zoroastrians.

  • @cbaGAGA He was gay, so even if he "was" muslim - he wasn't- he would have been killed by Sharia Law.

  • @ShahnamPersia LOL nonsense, i have two gay friends and guess what they're alive!!, idk about iran i'm from kuwait.

  • @cbaGAGA yea rich friends who can afford a lawyer and security, for crying out loud there is a prince of dubai who is homosexual the only reason he is not hanged is because he is rich. Do not tell me homosexuals have it easy in a Muslim country, they dont....

  • @mryevix its not easy for some1 to be gay anywhere, not just in muslim countries, and not all of them are so religious, just like christianity relogious christians dont prefer gay ppl, but they cant stop them cuz they have the right to choose, well its exactly the same thing, and my friends are middle class and gay not rich. ok some close minded ppl were dissapointed but they cant do anything about it,

  • @cbaGAGA In Russia and China it's dangerous I believe they will hang you as well, in America you could be socially persecuted if you live in the south *but anyone with common sense or enough money would flee there in a hurry*.

  • @XIIIBAER hang! i think thats overdramatic, i dont know about that, but you have a point when talking about how rich ppl can get away with whatever wrong they did much more easily. and thats not include gay ppl dont get me wrong, i'm speaking in perspective of other ppl.

  • @XIIIBAER no they are not stop spreading bullshit, Russia has gay festivals every year and China is China a great land with great people (They are watching us ¬¬ ) and in the SOUTH of america, sure they will hate you and run you out of town but those people are a minority a small group of southerners

  • @cbaGAGA YEA Christian religious nutjob might not PREFER homosexuals but they wont lynch them and hang them up dead in the middle of the city centre, look at USA (a Christian nation you could say) the crazies hate homosexuals but they don't lynch or hang em every state supports gay right even the non supportive ones.

  • @mryevix of course they dont hang them, what r u talking about XD

  • @cbaGAGA

Kuwait law also states if you are gay and over 21 you can get imprisoned for 7 years heck in 1996 they deported a bunch of homosexuals back to their home country saying "we don't tolerate homosexuality in Kuwait" I don't know how your friends are alive but I have just reported you to the Kuwait Authorities hopefully you can tell them who your homosexual friends are and how Kuwait deals with them.

  • @cbaGAGA

There is no chance to know it. But let beleive what Roger said atheist or better say zoroasthrian, or should I say protestant.

What we know is what he pretented to be, as he sung it THE GREAT PRETENDER.

At least no one knows what he really was and as a muslim that you are WAS or WASN`T it is not a matter of honor.

  • si te parece estupida no la escuches rimseffar

  • stupid song

  • @rimseffar

    and more stupiode post

  • Um... anyone trying to translate the lyrics of that song, don't. Seriously, you're wasting your time. I heard on a documentary that when they wrote the song, Freddie would just improvize the lyrics... which gave some arabian-like mashed-up words.

He had a big sense of humour indeed...

  • @0lunoire1 You would think people would have realized that by now, lol. I know I've personally commented on a couple of these videos about five hundred million times that the the song is just Freddie's improv. Maybe we need enough thumbs up to get it to the top so people will stop asking what language it is. ; )

  • @0lunoire1 Actually, I think this song is actually bits and pieces of REAL languages. Apart from the obvious English and Arabic, there might be one or more East Indian languages(He was Parsi meaning ancestraly he was East Indian-Iranian), maybe some Swahili(he was born in Zanzibar). Part of it might be a dead language or ethnolect now only used by Zoroastrians(Dari). Every word, I believe has a meaning in it's own language, but strung together it could only be deciphered by a "smart man."
