No, the US didnt invaded iraq for oil. Germany, france, and Russia got their oil from iraq. Britian and US agreed not to buy from there. US invaded to enforce UN ruling. The US had the blessing of the UN including france.

@kingdomofheaven300 With respect, the orthodox church has not seen the corruption as the catholic church. However, christian faith is that christ died on the cross for salvation to his followers. I'm not arguing the church doesnt provide direction because it does, but you can have salvation without the church, any church. Believing in your heart that jesus died for your sins and accepting him as your saviour is all thats required to go to heaven. jesus's church was wherever he was.
@jims3666 I beg to differ on that notion. If you have a murderer and a rapist who does not repent for his sins, but does indeed accept Jesus as his savior, I still hardly doubt that such a person would go to Heaven.
@Britain171 salvation is forgiveness of sins paid for with the blood of christ. to accept salvation you must repent your sins and ask for christ to forgive you, otherwise there is only belief. there is a fine line between belief and faith. i can believe there is a god but that does not get me to heaven. if i have faith then i believe that if i commit my life to jesus and follow his way i will receice salvation. the point is, all this can be done without the church. its in yourself.
@Britain171 i also said in my comment, believing in your heart that jesus died for your sins AND accepting him as your saviour is all thats required to get to heaven. accepting jesus as your saviour is to aknowledge he died for your sins. It is finished on the cross. you can not recieve salvation for your sins unless you ask jesus for his forgiveness.
Regardless, in my opinion, both faith and good deeds are necessary to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Despite repenting, if all that one does with their life is squander their time and make other's miserable, then I find it hard to imagine that Jesus would admit them into Heaven. In fact, Catholicism preaches that both good works and faith save you, as opposed to other Christian sects.
Note: I am not stating that "only" Catholics believe in this.
@jims3666 Oh, and I do agree with what you say about no one requiring a church to be guided into Heaven. In my ideology, it is through faith and good deeds, and if you seek further religious piety and fervor, you can read the Bible or any other Holy Book of other religions.
@Britain171 There is a big misunderstanding with good deeds. They are not required. The bible states in psalm 22 "it is finished". It means that jesus's sacrifice paid for all your sins, no matter how bad your sins were. Christains need this faith only idea. many people who have greatly sinned would think there is no hope and continue to sin. I know it sounds bad horrible people can go to heaven but its the truth of christianity regardless of what lies the church spreads.

@Britain171 Good deeds, as you said earlier, cannot save you. You cannot save yourself, for it is a gift from heaven, and not because of anything you have done (look up Titus 3:5). That's something you have to understand: don't go about doing good deeds with the mindset that it will save you and justify you, because your bad side is always there. You have been saved. Rejoice! Good deeds are done because we love our Father in heaven and want to be like Him and to serve him because of his mercy.

I can say i agree about religion but the way I see it is faith is derived from church. But at the same time people don't have to be churchly to be a man of god the bible its self is the messenger of god. We need less people who are out for there own well being and more for the giving to the needy if its coming from the church. I never said christians were blood thirsty, i said the church misled its followers with information that served the the church but not god. It was Pope Urban II who launched the crusades and offered forgiveness of sins to kill muslims. The church was so bad, Martin Luther/95 thesis/churchdoor/wittenburg germany launched the reformation and split the church in half.

I'm not arguing the church doesnt provide direction because it does, but you can have salvation without the church, any church. @Britain171 salvation is forgiveness of sins paid for with the blood of christ. to accept salvation you must repent your sins and ask for christ to forgive you, otherwise there is only belief. there is a fine line between belief and faith. i can believe there is a god but that does not get me to heaven. if i have faith then i believe that if i commit my life to jesus and follow his way i will receice salvation. the point is, all this can be done without the church. its in yourself.

Regardless, in my opinion, both faith and good deeds are necessary to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Despite repenting, if all that one does with their life is squander their time and make other's miserable, then I find it hard to imagine that Jesus would admit them into Heaven. In fact, Catholicism preaches that both good works and faith save you, as opposed to other Christian sects.
Note: I am not stating that "only" Catholics believe in this.

@Britain171 There is a big misunderstanding with good deeds. They are not required. The bible states in psalm 22 "it is finished". It means that jesus's sacrifice paid for all your sins, no matter how bad your sins were. Christains need this faith only idea. many people who have greatly sinned would think there is no hope and continue to sin. I know it sounds bad horrible people can go to heaven but its the truth of christianity regardless of what lies the church spreads.

@Britain171 Good deeds, as you said earlier, cannot save you. You cannot save yourself, for it is a gift from heaven, and not because of anything you have done (look up Titus 3:5). That's something you have to understand: don't go about doing good deeds with the mindset that it will save you and justify you, because your bad side is always there. You have been saved. Rejoice! Good deeds are done because we love our Father in heaven and want to be like Him and to serve him because of his mercy.

I can say i agree about religion but the way I see it is faith is derived from church. But at the same time people don't have to be churchly to be a man of god the bible its self is the messenger of god. We need less people who are out for there own well being and more for the giving to the needy if its coming from the church. Pillage is on thing, but slaughtering everything, including child is not sowing anything. Plus, they weren't towns fighting, but just on the path way for the Crusaders to the Holy Land. Only brutes would do such a thing.

Saladin was much more honorable than the templars when he took the city back. i am totally against the jihadist crap we see today, but the muslims fought with honor during the crusades.

@LeeyroyJenkins in all wars there are moments of honor and atrocoties by all sides. i spoke specifically to the point of the city of jerusalem. both sides in the crusades were guilty but Saladin did allow open worship in Jerusalem. The jews and catholics were against that. I am an athiest and dont support either religion im just voicing that the crusaders weren't as holy as christians believe. They were as bloodthirsty then as al queida is now. both are wrong and so are the jews.

@SpinnerSingh True, people do bad things, but the catholic church is an organization who had a policy of killing disbelievers. I never said christians were blood thirsty, i said the church misled its followers with information that served the the church but not god. It was Pope Urban II who launched the crusades and offered forgiveness of sins to kill muslims. The church was so bad, Martin Luther/95 thesis/churchdoor/wittenburg germany launched the reformation and split the church in half.
