Hello! Im a teen trying to enter the natural blogging world and spread the news to other natural girls around the world. I know most of you won't but I would really appreciate if you just took a quick glance at my blog and commented on my post for some new ideas
After an hour or so i unroll the rollers very carefully and i have an easily manageable, you can curl it, iron it or even slick it back if you want to after that...I usually just flat iron the front and slick the rest of it back just so i won't damage my hair with hot tools. Hope it helps.
Well i have a very thick hair too and i am in the same boat as you especially being Ethiopian most people around me have fairly curly soft hair, especially all of my three sisters. I tried relaxing it which is too damaging. See i had long hair back home because having your hair taking car of is very very cheap at the salon. I suffered here though. Now thank fully immediately after washing it i carefully roll each hair with those spiky rolls and sit under the drying hood for like an hour and bam.
I'm 47. Haven't had a perm since before 2/8/2000. That's the day of my thyroid surgery and RAI. No chemicals from that date. Your hair is gorgeous...keep it going.
I am...older than you :-) and have thick, long hair! Things that surprised me and have worked (some, i found by accident. In random order >>> 1)Dove Intensive moisturizing shampoo and conditioner (who knew!?) I want a better quality shampoo, but i will buy another set to keep/travel with. 2)Washing my hair more often/water. When i was wearing it pressed, i tried to hold the style for 2 weeks. scalp was bad then. 3) Denman brush with every-other row taken out. 4) Shea butter and NATURAL oils.

I definitely do a lot of co-washing and double stranded twists (then pull it out for the crinkly look) or plaits and my hair soaks up moistures like I don't know what. I walk around with a little spray bottle of water and glycerine mix like I have a jerry curl or something. lol

When you say your 25, you say it like your 70 or something...Hair starts changing when you're 50. So basically when your 25, your hair will still be thick and long.
Sooo true. Both my parents are black and I have hair pasts my breasts. YES it is all mine and NO i have never had a perm. I am 20 years old and strongly believe black women can grow long healthy hair, its just all the shit we do to it. At the end of the day you ask yourselves why your hair doesn't grow, I ask how is it suppose to with all thats done to it?

i have long and thick hair. but its too thick too the point where i feel i cant do much with it. perms didnt work that well for me and i'm transitioning with full head weaves now. when i officially go natural next year i hope i can be able to manage my Very thick hair
That's why I went natural, my hair was very very long and thick, but the perms made it soooooo thin it was ugly. I didn't care about length anymore, I just wanted my thick hair back so I cut it all off. Thick hair is beautiful.

My dad is black n irish with curly hair n my mom is black, west indian n a lil hispanic with sometimes wavy hair. my hair use to be full like yours but as i got older, it just... deflatted and i dont even use perm/relaxers.

My hair is also very thick. When I went natural, I had no idea what I was in for! Hairdressers are afraid of it. Even after 10+ years of being natural, I still haven't found what works for my hair and all of its degrees of curliness. Good luck to you!
I have this problem too...my hair is very thick and coarse. I hate to dry my hair because it shrinks and hate to comb it as well, because of the tangles and knots. I usually do a two strand twist right after i wash it. I've tried to straighten it but all it does is become puffy. You are the first video I've seen with someone with thick hair as mine. i have thick virgin hair too and i am also 25. the reason you dont see many chicks our age with thick hair is because they been getting perms since they were young and it thinned out their hair. thats what they get for changing their hair texture.

I do not know why you are getting a thumbs down...but you are telling the truth, lol. When one relaxes the natural hair texture they are essentially weakening it and thereby causing breakage which thereby causes thin hair.... Moral of the story....if you relax and your hair seems to be getting thinner and shorter you may want to stop relaxing if you want to keep some hair on your head....
@ piecefulcenter while there is some truths to what you stated there are also many girls out there especially on fotki and youtube that have much thicker and much longer hair than you can imagine both natural and relaxed..do your research and you will definitely see...what you see is not all there is to it..you're just seeing a tiny fraction of it on youtube..:)

Wow! Yeah, that is some thick pretty hair. Mine is thick like yours is. People complain about their hair thining as they get older but I'm 28 and mine just keeps getting thicker and thicker!

Wow! Yeah, that is some thick pretty hair. Mine is thick like yours is. People complain about their hair thining as they get older but I'm 28 and mine just keeps getting thicker and thicker!
