Now dude needs to learn how to do the harder less wave influenced movements and he'll be almost as good as Boogaloo Shrimp was in the '80s. Breakin' gets tired. A real poppin' crew will wax a breakin' crew in a judged battle, because it's more theatric, individual, rhythmic and entertaining. It takes more refined muscle control and the gross aspect of breakin', meaning "large movements" not "disgusting", cannot match the precision of dope poppin'. Why no one really advanced poppin' is anyone's guess. I think it had to do with the fact that the East Coast controls the UG to a degree, and they have always been wack poppers, generally

Dude gots it. His poppin' is perfect b/c it's a reflection of him. He lived, learned, then led himself and found his way. He didn't just straight up bite. He learned every aspect of B-Boyin' --and yes B-boyin' includes poppin and lockin' too-- and he flipped it. One thing I can say about the B-Boys nowadays, with the exception of some crews like Jabbawocky, they can't pop. No 3-D ticks, real hittin', strobes, animation, vibratory waves, floor work so on. The poppin' they do is elementary (1982).
